Avatar f tn I wish I knew the answer...my back is hurting me so bad, and its been like this sense about 25 wks on.
Avatar f tn I am almost 34 weeks and the back pain is really starting to set in. Just wondering how everyone else is doing and if anyone has found any relief from their back pain. I've had my husband give me a massage and it doesn't seem to help. The pain is mostly in my mid-back on my right side. Sometimes it feels like little one is pinching a nerve and it hurts like heck!
1184961 tn?1292574076 I forgot all about tens units. I had one years ago for my hip but it didn't work so I had to give it back to the phys. ther. dept. I should see if my Dr.would refer me back to phys. ther. for my back to see about trying one for it. It's worth a shot. Anything better than more drugs or surgery. Thanks for jogging my memory. I'll call in the AM to make an appt.
Avatar f tn I am going to take rest for 21 days and am going to a massage clinic for some deep massage (for the next 21 days). Also I have prescribed myself lots of water (at least 3 quarts/day) for the next fortnight after which I will be bringing it down to 2 quarts / day. Strectching seems to relieve my pain. So I am drawing up a chart to strech my thigh and buttock muscles (consult your local physiotherapist). Lets see if I am cured by this time next month.
Avatar m tn Ask the doctor or search for information on transverse friction, stretching methods, forms of "massage techniques",that help pull apart micro adhesions in the soft tissue, resulting in inflammation, signaling the tissue repair process. If it doesn't help shrink the scar tissue, hopefully it will bring you some pain relief, with out causing further damage.
6295353 tn?1395241495 So am I the only one that has a problem with the back wanting to pop or something? There are time where I move when im laging down or when I get up it feels like my lower back wants to pop and I try to but it doesnt and its like a sharp pain. Its very different from a backache from baby.
Avatar f tn Been dealing with pain in my lower back & hips due to not walking correctly since hurting my foot. Been using Naproxen and muscle relaxers for some time. Also been using physical therapy. What have you been doing to help deal with pain?
1746227 tn?1314797704 I hate that look when people carry their heads forward instead of back. But I know that with my short back compared to leg length, my back is much flatter in the thoracic spine than people's who have long backs.
Avatar n tn See if getting a massage therapist with good anatomical understanding and pain management techniques brings some relief. Any concerns should first be cleared by your doctor. In many states though you don't need a doctors prescription. Sitting and or standing for long periods can be the cause of your symptoms. If you want to see my website its www.nycmassagemanhattan.com.
Avatar f tn I live in Australia so the bra sizes are different here but I've gone from a 12DD to a 12E or 12F my boobs hurt as well as my back I don't think there's any thing you can do about it I get my partner to massage my back & put lotion on my boobs and massage them it helps with the soreness :)
Avatar n tn IDK.. I want to start getting back to normal sports and activities but am concerned I may damage something more if I take another hit. So my questions are: 1. If I don't have a broken or cracked rib (by now it should be healed if I did, right?) what else could even be wrong? If something's out of place whats the risk other than it hurting? 2. I dont want to go back to the ER, it seemed useless the first time... so what type of dr should I look for?
Avatar m tn Another person can do it properly. Professionals can do a better massage. There are 4 types of massage. Two of them can be done by self. One is abdominal prostate massage and the other is anal peripheral prostate massage. Google the above words and if it resonate with you, do it, or discard it. you have not mentioned whether you have done with your fingers your with some device.
Avatar n tn Many thnx for your reply mummu3too. Will this therapy really work as few people suggested me to not to for massage kind of techniques in this pain. I will surely consult this therapy treatment from doctors as my bro is not getting satisfactory results from epidural as pain persists after few days. I hope this will help him.
Avatar n tn You also need a good sleeve and gauntlet to help keep the swelling down while you travel. They can also show you some manual drainage techniques and some pretty wicked bandaging to get the swelling down.

Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
Avatar m tn At your age and due to the fact that you don't have cancer so lymph nodes won't be disturbed I see no reason that you wouldn't be able to return to your normal sports activity fairly soon after you are completely healed. You should get some instruction for stretching exercises post-op as soon as your Surgeon permits which will help you recover your normal range of motion.
Avatar f tn I went to massage therapy and it was wonderful. Didn't go to the chiropractor though. Don't do a normal spa formassage. Talk to a sports massage place or one thatcaters to those recovering from car accidents.
Avatar f tn ) Think of ways to relax your mind and body. I also had years of anxiety and panic attacks and have been diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and did these things for a long time (it took two years for me to feel "normal: again) but it helped and I took very few meds so try it and see.
Avatar f tn s absolutely wonderful but when I went to her pregnant she had a really hard time with it. Like I said, massage is perfectly safe but she had a hard time massaging my back from a side lying position and she was so nervous and scared that she was going to hurt my baby. I think even though it's safe to get a massage from anyone trained in massage it's best to go to someone who is completely completely comfortable and confident with prenatal.
199177 tn?1490498534 Massage is being increasingly used by people suffering from pain, mostly to manage chronic back and neck problems. Massage can reduce stress and relieve tension by enhancing blood flow. This treatment also can reduce the presence of substances that may generate and sustain pain. Available data suggest that massage therapy, like chiropractic manipulations, holds considerable promise for managing back pain.
