Common Questions and Answers about Sporanox and ringworm

sporanox

Avatar f tn I would not take lamisil ever again. It is notoriously hard on your liver. Sporanox is really bad for the liver also.
Avatar f tn I’ve had ringworm before and I’m starting to think it was this because it left a tiny white spot, however that went away very quickly and it did not return
Avatar n tn About 5 months ago I started getting constantly severe burning in the perineum which was and still is red (though not excessively) and irritated. A lot of swabs were taken (I felt a burning sensation also internally when the swab was taken) and all that could be found was strep b and WBC >200. I was given antibitiocs for that but this did not help. Strep b was coming back; however even when I took the antibiotics and the strep b was not showing in the swab the burning was still present.
Avatar m tn Im 25 yrs old and I've noticed small dry flaky ringworm looking bumps on my penis and testicles and also on my body such as chest and arms as well, but more so on my testicles. They don't itch or bother me but i'm just concerned, and I would say I'd noticed them about maybe a week ago. Pls Help!
Avatar f tn About a month ago, I ended up catching ringworm from 2 new kittens my husband and I took in during Christmas. Each of us have about 20 spots each. My Husband got all of his at once, I "Broke out" for 3 weeks. While they are going down with OTC creams and Natural Remedies (Apple Cider Vinegar + Tea tree oil) I ended up going on Terbinafine because it seems like these things are at a standstill. So I have a few questions: ***Skin that isn't even affected by ringworm is VERY ITCHY.
Avatar f tn It is called tinea cruris and tinea capitis. When ringworm infects the area between the toes, it is called tinea capitis. When it affects the pubic region it is called tinea cruris. When it affects the scalp, it is called tinea capitis. It is all the same. Only, the ringworm that infects the scalp lives inside the hair shafts and can't be treated topically. For the feet and pubic region, the best product is topical Lamisil.
656503 tn?1256832023 s not real possible even if the kitten showed symptoms of ringworm, unless your boyfriend was in very close contact, like sleeping with it every night and cuddling a lot. Even then it would most likely show up on his body near where the kitten was, it wouldn't show up on his feet! However, if the kitten shows no sign (scratching, scabs, missing fur), then it doesn't have ringworm and there is not chance of passing it on.
Avatar f tn One of the consumers I was working with had ringworm, I was very careful, and used gloves when working closely with him. About a week later, I saw one little circular patch on my right shin, and started to get worried that I was going to get the ringworm. I went right to my dr. She checked it out and said that it was not ringworm.... My question is,, has anyone had different types of rashes or odd shaped patches on their skin that looks circular without the bulls eye type look?
Avatar m tn I was Rx Sporanox pending liver function test. AST was normal, but ALT was 52 in a lab norm range of 2 - 45. I was told possibly elevated due to my 1600 - 2400 mg/dy of nsaids (Advil gel caps). ETOH consumption moderate. If I cut the nsaids, how long should I expect to wait to retest for a drop of 7 points on that ALT score? Is 45 really the high end of norm?
Avatar m tn Hello, You may be suffering from Tinea Capitis or Ringworm (fungal infection) of the scalp. Ringworm is a fungal skin infection that occurs on the face, body or scalp. The symptoms of Ringworm or Tinea Capitis include a dry itchy scalp, scaling, crusting, inflamed nodules, hair loss and tender enlarged lymph nodes on the neck. Because of the scratching that is involved with the condition it can become secondarily infected with a bacterial infection.
Avatar f tn I think I have ringworm on my hands, (I have ringworm on my stomach and thighs), how do I treat it and keep it from spreading to others? I've been putting an ointment to try to treat it and then placing gloves on my hands so I don't infect everything I touch, but it makes my hands sweat which I think is making it worse :( Any help, tips and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm losing my mind with this issue!!
Avatar n tn Disinfect the trouble spots. Ringworm fungi love to collect in tubs, on bathroom floors and in hampers and dresser drawers. Dr. Whitmore recommends that you destroy these breeding grounds by regularly cleaning them with chlorine bleach. Hope that helps! Good Luck!
Avatar f tn It's probably ringworm (the scabs are an indicator or ringworm, not mange. But they are often cross diagnosed). I would suggest starting by picking up an over the counter athlete's foot cream like lotrimin (use the cream, work's best with fur). Surprise surprise, it's the same medication for cats or humans. This likely means your cat didn't do the damage. But if it doesn't clear up in a few weeks, I'd suggest taking your cat in to a vet.
Avatar m tn I had ringworm on my back and I thought I cleared it up with cream but discontinued using cream and it came back. Then I got a massage and the ringworm spread to my legs and groin. First showed up in groin with bad symptoms. then I wore compression socks and the ringworm has spread in around the line of the top of the sock. kinda shocking. its been very hard to treat.
Avatar f tn By the next day the ringworm will be gone. My children got ringworm in school and a Fillipino lady cured them this way. In case it isn't ringworm that you have, you might want to try this on just one spot.
Avatar n tn Apply warm compresses on the lymph nodes and complete the treatment for ringworm as prescribed by your doctor. Once ringworm is treated, lymph nodes will come back to their normal size. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how your daughter is doing.
Avatar m tn We both assumed it’s ringworm so she prescribed 100mg of fluconazole. It’s been about 3 weeks and it’s not working. I’m starting to think it’s not ringworm bc it hasn’t spread anywhere. Does anyone have an idea of what they could be? The bumps are about the size of a dime and raised and they’re both next to each other, one above the other.
Avatar f tn Heck yes it can be ringworm. Ringworm can cause folliculitis and present like this, especially early stages of it, or certain strains. Try applying an OTC anti-fungal ointment on the boils (clotrimazole `% twice daily or terbinafine once daily). If it's ringworm, you will see marked improvement after 1-2 days. You should keep applying the cream for the full treatment period though to make sure all the spores are gone. Run all clothes and bedlinens through a HOT dryer.

Avatar f tn I have asked many different veterinarians about this and have read on the Internet which sometimes can lead to reading false information but I was wondering, can the worms that cats get be given to humans? I have heard no and maybe and yes. Those that told me no said that the types of worms cats get are not the same types of worms that a human can get and they are rarely, if ever, transferred from species to species. Those that told me maybe said that you maybe could if you ingested some eggs.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 years old. I've had 3 ringworm outbreaks in less than a year, but I'm still not sure if it's ringworm. It always starts out with 1, 2, or 3 small red bumps. All the bumps have a white head and can be ruptured. If i scratch it or rupture the bumps by applying cream, it spreads. It is itchy, but only sometimes. But it never forms a circle. The bumps itself is in a circular form, but it is just a cluster of small raised bumps, not a ring with a clear center.
Avatar f tn Since you have a steroid cream I'm assuming you have been to a doctor. What does he say? Has she seen a dermatologist?

Avatar m tn Alright, this is an ugly sad situation I am in. I slept with a prostitute ( protected ) and got a fungal infection on my back a week or two later ( ringworm ) ... It was protected so no HIV risk here.. . I also tested negative conclusively for this....
Avatar f tn I my dog has a patch of fur missing the size of a quarter on her right shoulder. It has a pretty gooey scab on it as well. She is 7 and a pitbull mix. Never seen this before and she has good bloodwork and all of her shots. I did however give her a topical for fleas and ticks from PetArmor. Can this be the culprit to her wound?
Avatar f tn I have a ringworm looking rash on my stomach, chest and back.. I went to the doctor and he said its either ringworm or excema and prescribed an anti fungal and steroid cream. Nothing seems to be clearing up and now i have something that very much looks like a pimple on my cheek but am worried its still the ringworm. Does ringworm often look like pimples?
