okay i was 3 months preg when the doc said i miscarriage i had the cramps and i was bleeding! i went to the er and everything and that was in june i was due feb 3 2010 and its jan 8 2010 i been very bloated and been gainin weight since i lost the baby still feeling like im preg! So now i been crampin really bad and my period been late i took alot of preg test and they say neg but it still feel like im preg the doc never gave me a d&c when i lost the baby!

He certainly can read and seems to understand what he is reading. Due to insurance related issues, his therapy ended prematurely.. I would like to be able to communicate with him better. Can you suggests games, tools to help. I gave him a computer to see if he could type his messages but he could not. Are there other tools I can use? please help.

I went to my speech therapy this morning. She had me saying ahhhhhh, ooooh, eeeeh and reading from what looked like a grade second reader. The she made a mistake. She said, "Tell me a little about yourself." Now, being a complete windbag I went into a dissertation that rocked her back on her heels. She kept asking me to take a deep breath as i talked.

She said that they do educational speech therapy and that Ashtyn needs Clinical speech therapy. Is there anything that would be as helpful as speech therapy since my insurance wont cover it and the ISD doesn't do the speech therapy that he needs? Ashtyn is very behind in almost all communication skills. I don't know what else to do for him, and no one can help him!

Yes U should look into speech therapy, but therapy in general...make sure his hearing is ok......there r forms of autisum that can case speech delays...look up aspbergers (sp?).......I hope ur son responds to whichever therapy u choose.

Has any one ever come across speech difficulty, either slurred or stuttering speech, along with migraines? I have done research on the subject and have come up with the slurred speech issue with migraines but not stuttering and i'm trying to help my twin with her migraines and speech difficulties from ending her career.

Hi Tracy, The cause could be one of at least two things that I am familiar with - first is a real physical decomposing of our ability to remember. I don't know your age, but I am 54 and approaching that area that we know our cognitive abilities usually start to slow down. Part of that is the use it or lose it phenomena. MS is also connected to cognitive problems, and it could be part of the disease.

Have been going to Vestibular rehabilitation doing exercises at home as well. The last rehab therapy concentrated on a steady gaze with head to a left 45 degree angle motioning back and forth while on a treadmill. That day following therapy I slept for 6 hours, and woke up with what felt like a bruise and swollen left base of my skull.

Btw, getting a birth to three person can help with speech. He should qualify for speech therapy which does not mean he has autism.

I'm glad you gave an update from your speech therapy visit. It sounds like you have a good one and hopefully you will find the right combination of food consistency and flavor. I am picking up my afo next week - maybe we can compare notes. Mine is non-hinged, so I doubt i can sleep in it. I am getting it to stabiize my foot while my foot stress fracture heals. Hi Everyone- I'm new here, but I had a question about my 2 year old boy. He was diagonosed with PDD-NOS in August and he's been getting ABA therapy for about a month now. I was wondering if anyone has any great success stories with ABA. I know he's been getting only a month, but already I'm getting a bit frustrated. Before he started ABA, he has gotten 6 months of other therapy- speech, special instruction and physical therapy along with his twin sister.

He doesn't have speech therapy. He's five years old. He speaks clearly, and has a huge vocabulary, normal for his age. I'm not 100% sure about all of it, but I know it has more to do with his brain and comprehension.

It’s never too late for speech therapy. Just go to a clinic that specializes in stuttering therapy. Not every SLP will have experience in this area as our field is quite broad. They will come up with treatment techniques that is best suited for your need!

Is your son receiving speech therapy? I think that is the most important thing for him to improve his language. If he is already getting speech therapy, maybe he needs it more often.

My son had a speech delay they recognized at 18 months after he had tubes put in his ears around the same time. I took him to speech therapy at "Columbus Speech and Hearing." They first did a hearing check to make sure everything was ok. Then autism was another good thing to look into. Their first plan of attach, though, was "early intervention" with speech therapy one day a week for a half hour at "Columbus Speech and Hearing.
