) I started speech therapy for cognitive issues two wks ago . I have all the troubles everyone mentioned above . I also have great difficulty speaking concepts.. or what I'm thinking .. also understanding what has just been said and what I'm looking at (this is the scariest for me) unnerving stuff this is Typing is much easier.. as most of these problems have to do with processing speed. This also affects my movements, walking ,stairs ( mostly going down)...etc.

The longer you wait the harder it will be for him to get control of his eating problem. Speech therapy to deal with his oral motor problems will make all the difference. Good luck.

I have been having a light headedness which m sure is linked to playing online games, I suffer with stress anxiety and playing these games takes my mind off stuff, but just recently my head goes fuzzy, last 1 I ended up wit like a migraine, anyone else suffer, ive stopped playing the games I did to c if it eases off

She said that they do educational speech therapy and that Ashtyn needs Clinical speech therapy. Is there anything that would be as helpful as speech therapy since my insurance wont cover it and the ISD doesn't do the speech therapy that he needs? Yes U should look into speech therapy, but therapy in general...make sure his hearing is ok......there r forms of autisum that can case speech delays...look up aspbergers (sp?).......I hope ur son responds to whichever therapy u choose.

What I'm trying to say is that they will have to realize they have a problem and chances are they aren't going to want to believe it. They first did a hearing check to make sure everything was ok. Then autism was another good thing to look into. Hm. Well, a speech delay can be very frustrating for sure. It can interfere with all kinds of things in a child's life from peer interaction to how a child expresses emotions to self esteem. Good for the parents for recognizing that getting help with speech is important and having her in speech classes. I'd practice all the things she does in speech therapy at home as well.

He is going to start Physical therapy, ocupacional, and speech therapy. I hope this will help him. But do you think he has autism. We are going to see a neurologist on July I hope for that time he will improve a little bit.

Her speech is quite understandable but not 100% by far. The speech therapist says that her breathing and speech are not coordinated and therefore she runs out of air and speaks fast and therefore speech becomes harder to understand. Until you live with an Aspie, you don't understand that you cannot force them to do anything they don't want to do, and they do not like things that "typical" kids their age do. Research the greenspan/floortime meathod, it is a great way to provide your child in home therapy, that you can do yourself, that will help her speech and development.
