Avatar m tn What other symptoms are present? Can you elaborate on the character of the headache in the frontal and temple area? How about your head injury? This can be due to primary headaches such as tension headache which usually presents with pressure or viselike headache. Healing or recovering from a concussion takes time and may take weeks or even months. Headaches, dizziness, irritability and concentration problems may be observed.
Avatar n tn They tried caffeine treatments, to taking everything i eat away to see if it would make a difference. My headache/migraines last for a couple mins to a few hours. Ranging from just a headache to having it so bad that I have stroke like effects. I know what I wanna say but again the words just are not there or coming out right. My arms go numb, I can also have my hand right infront of my face and for some reason can not see it.
Avatar f tn This sounds to me like anxiety and stress. I am a 28 year old female and I have the same problem, somewhat. Sometimes I have speech problems too! Kind of like I can't get the words out. All my issues is my left side also. I don't get headaches though really. Just burning sensations, pressure, "floaties" in my left eye, pressure in my left ear, tingling all over my left side, left nasal drip, and pressure in that area, etc. Too many strange feelings to list.
Avatar n tn This could be one of the chronic headache syndromes like migraine, cluster headache or tension headache. Aura associated with migraine is known to have nausea vomiting, visual disturbances like blurring, tunnel vision , slurring speech etc . Apart from others, exercise is a known trigger to migraine attacks and that’s exactly what could have happened in case of your son.
Avatar f tn The symptoms of Headache, pressure, slurred speech and peripheral vision problems can be due to an increased cerebro-spinal fluid (CSF) pressure. Usually a common sign of increased intracranial pressure is double vision. Did you have any double vision ? The other set of symptoms that you have (concentration problems, euphoria, memory loss) do not appear to be due to the CSF pressure. They could be due to a mood disorder ( depression, bipolar) or thyroid dysfunction.

1340519 tn?1305166702 I have severe episodes of vertigo, slurred speech/trouble finding words... I basically feel "off" and fuzzy in the head. I have had many many tests and scans and have seen several doctors. The possibility of Migraine has come up a couple times and I was given Meclazine and Antivert which did nothing for me (that was 8 years ago). I am looking for anyone who is diagnosed with Migraine (basilar?) and has NO headache pain...
Avatar n tn Cellulitis would not cause headache and speech problems, whereas trigeminal neuralgia would not cause visible redness and swelling. I can't think of a connection between these symptoms and her back operations or your MS. I think primary consultation should be with a neurologist. Sorry I can't be more definitive. Dr.
Avatar f tn They may see sparkling flashes of light or perceive dazzling zigzag lines in their field of vision, experience slowly spreading blind spots, may feel tingling, pins and needles sensations in one arm or leg and rarely, experience weakness or language and speech problems. The usual triggers of migraine include food and beverages, stress or menstruation. Although the exact cause of migraine remains unknown, genetic factors may also contribute.
Avatar f tn From the past 2 years I had been suffering from headache which crops up suddenly but does not remain for long. The pain accelerates when I am studying but slowly decreases when i am not. I don't have any problem in watching TV or using computers. With the headache I often feel like vomiting (but not always). My eyelids often becomes swollen and starts paining after I wake up. I cannot find a solution to my problem and I had been running after doctors who come up with almost no solutions.

Avatar m tn Then there is the mechanical part of communicating our language and that is speech. Problems with speech can include just trying to get the words out, pronouncing the words, the tonal quality of our speech, using emphasis and inflection. Problems with speech can be from weakness or spasticity of the muscles of our mouths, throats and vocal cords. Or it can be with the way our brain tries to direct the speech.
Avatar f tn I went for tests on Tuesday of this week (CT scan,MRI, and x-rays) Is that too much in one day because later on that night I woke up with an unbearable headache in both temples, I was cold and my hands were shaking like I have never shook before. The same thing happened the next day - headache and my hands shook uncontrollably. This has never happened to me before; can that occur because of all the tests or is this a nerve problem? Thank you for your help.
9771188 tn?1405907831 Has anyone had problems communicating? I have problems with finding the right word to use. Sometimes I use I will get so frustrated. My family and friends say that I repeat myself a lot. I do know this, especially when I am excited, happy or upset. I completely lose my train of thought. I used to be able to speak in public, and train people. This has been difficult for me. Am I alone? I have battled through much worse demons than this, but I don't want to give up now.
Avatar f tn The ER doctors, Neurologist , and my PCP Doctor all said they have never known for a migraine to cause long term speech problems. I have read cases of slurred speech occuring but this usually subsides after the headache goes away. I have now been like this for 25 days. The Neurologist has me on Depakote which makes me drowsy and I feel numb. He and the other doctors think i'm crazy and want me to see a psychiatrist but I know this is not in my head, this is really happening.
Avatar m tn He has a hard time comprehending, he gets extremely sleepy, and his speech gets slow and slurred. We have voiced our concerns to his neurosurgeon and his neurologist but they don't seem to know why this happens to him and quite frankly don't seem concerned. My husband has had CT scans, MRIs, EEG, sleep deprived EEG, 24 hour EEG, Holter moniter, Echocardiogram, and EKG and all the results come back "normal" but he still has these episodes.
Avatar f tn You should be seen immediately for those speech problems, especially since they are accompanied by a headache. I would call your primary care doctor and/or go to the ER. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn it goes on and off every few minutes but the pain is sharp. there are no other symptoms, is it a cluster headache? could it be something more serious? please help.
Avatar n tn My husband was admitted to hospital following loss of use of his right side blurred vision, headache and speech problems. He was thought to have had a TIA but his MRI was clear. Doctors put the symptoms down to the fact he had drunk 5 pints of lager! They still say he can't drive or work for a month but if he hasn't had a TIA, why can't he drive?
Avatar f tn At the onset of each attack my vision is always affected, everything gets really bright, my lips get numb and tingly, my speech becomes slured I feel light headed and dizzy, cold clamy and nausated. Sometimes my thinking process is slowed or delayed and often I have short memory lapses. If I didnt know better sometimes it feels like I am intoxicated. These attacks are becoming more and more frequent.
