Avatar m tn Though I fell down quite hard on my head , my head didnot hurt at all. Instead I hurt my leg and neck a bit. Is it possible that I may internally bleeding in my head. One of my relatives had an internally bleeding in her head not too long ago after she fell down , hence I am feeling scared. Almost 2 hours has passed since I fell down and still I donot feel any such discomfiture other than a blunt headache which lasts for 2/3 minutes. Should I be worried?
1374969 tn?1321457490 m trying to say but I have trouble getting the words out. This has happened to me before, a few years ago, but that was after a head injury. It went away after a couple of weeks but I have not had any head trauma since then. Has anyone else experienced this? How long does it normally last?
Avatar f tn Her issues at Universtity could definitely be related to her brain injury. Did you daughter receive any therapy after her accident? I think you need to talk with her neurologist/neurosurgeon. He/she can refer you to some specialists who can work with your daughter. Sometimes, after a brain injury, the brain needs to be "re-taught" things that were already learned. This could involve physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech thereapy, etc.
Avatar n tn s, loss of coordination, blurry vision, twitches in both arms, numbness in both arms, loss of memory, slurred speech, and sexual performance problems. An MRI was done showing damage in the c4,c5,c6 in the neck region which causes my neck to hurt constantly. I was asking if this could be also a result from a brain injury I did hit my head pretty good in the accident.
Avatar n tn Although, he did not have any visible head injury, he was acting really weird (e.g he was slurring his speech, confused, disoriented, sleepless, restless and delusional). I took him to the emergency room the next day and they did a CT scan, but did not find any brain injuries or blood in his brain. The doctor who saw him was in a extreme rush and didn't really talked to us. When my husband was discharged from the ER they gave him a paper explaining about head concussion.

Avatar m tn He never had any problems like that before his back injury. It seemed to have started exactly after he somewhat recovered from his back injury. It does seem to be worse when his sciatica gets bad. He isn't on any medications and parkinsons doesnt run in the family. His "slurring" is actually more like a stutter, where his mouth is shaking along with his arm. I Have blood sugar strips for my grandfather, would those results be useful?
Avatar m tn Well, symptom wise it does sound like concussion. A concussion can last for weeks after the head injury. The symptoms too vary from person to person. Headache, confusion, memory loss, dizziness, nausea vomiting, slurred speech and fatigue are common. Delayed symptoms include depression, irritability, sleep disturbances, seizures, loss of smell etc. A doctor generally looks for focal neurological or generalized neurological symptoms that would show there is a pressure on brain somewhere.

1442701 tn?1286383987 It is harder walking at the end of each day. Today wasn't a good one. The buzzing sensation started when walking this morning & I had to ask someone else to take workers around to show service locations! I was so embarrassed & then one lady had the nerve to ask me if I would qualify for disability! Sheeps wool!!! I was so aggravated! My first MRI showed lesions in the gray matter in 2005. The person reading it said it indicated MS to them. Went to neuro & he said migraines.

Avatar n tn Welcome to the neurology medhelp forum with this query. you had a head injury following which there could have been an intracranial bleed, the hematoma could be causing the pain in the head and irritating the nerve supplying the area causing numbness. I can see that you didn’t have any of the serious signs like dizziness, loss of consciousness, slurring of speech, drooling of saliva, visual and speech disturbances etc.

Avatar f tn That you also had a head injury combined with your intoxicated state . . . those two together gave you the issues of memory, speech, etc. YOu could have a brain injury or concussion. See your doctor to determine this. I would definitely do that and if nothing else, you have a concussion baseline exam for anything that happens in the future. Again, I don't think what you experienced was just the fall but your drunken state.
Avatar f tn There are two types of speech disorders that occur in MS, dysarthrias and dysphonias. Avatar m tn Even then, the final outcome is extremely difficult to assess after the injury and operation. I advise you to find the home page for brain injury support groups. There is tons of information on these pages which will help you understand what your brother may go through while recovering and how it affects family members. Personality changes are quite common following trauma to the brain.
