Avatar m tn I am a 33 yr female and currently expecting. During my annual breast sonogram (follow up from past history cysts) a 1.2cm mass was discovered. I then had to have a needle biopsy. My doctor hasn't been available, adn I was getting anxious so I picked up the pathology report today, but am getting very confused by different results online and am beginning to get frightened. If anyone can offer some information, I would really appreciate it. My results were a. complex fibroadenoma b.
Avatar f tn I WORK AT A DR OFFICE AND I WENT TO WORK MY HA WAS LIKE A 10 THEY GAVE ME SHOTS SAID I HAD A SINUS INFECTION, FLUID ON EAR AND MIGRAINE. WELL I DID NOT GET ANY BETTER ON JULY 28 MY SPEECH BECAME SLUR AND I COULD NOT FINISH A SENTENCE. 7/29/09 I WOKE UP COULD BARELY SPEAK. LIGHT AND NOISE IS DRIVING ME CRAZY AND THE HA IS AWFUL. Avatar n tn While lesion does have favorable sonographic characteristics, it is solid, new (last mammogram 1 year 4 months) and palpable and ultrasound guided core biopsy for definitive pathology recommended. BI-RADS 4 for suspicious abnormality.
Avatar m tn s thyroiditis have tongue issues that has/had an impact on your speech? I have the scalloped appearance to my tongue, a swollen feeling near the back and underneath the tongue which affects my speech. Did the thyroid meds fix the problem and if so, how long did it take?
Avatar n tn My pathology report states "Left Breast Mass 0.47 x 0.45 x 0.60" Are those figures the size of the tumor and, if so, is that a small tumor...maybe less than a centimeter? It's a non-palpable mass, biopsy was diagnosed as Invasive ductal carcinoma. Surgery this week, so would hope for a response ASAP. Thank you.
16490231 tn?1448435621 Thank you for your response. I am still trying to get an "official' diagnosis. This showed on an MRI from 2006 as well. Again, no one has brought this to my attention at any time. I do have a cousin with Chiari Malformation as well, I don't know if that plays in to this at all. I was in a car accident when I was a teen. I was at ER last night for "slurred", slow and stuttering speech. It was clearly positional. When I was laying flat, clear speech, no issues.
Avatar f tn s no way to tell if the microcalcifications are benign not until the pathology report is in. As Motorisssaid, it should help to know that about 80% of biopsies end up with benign results and the odds are in your favor. Try to stay positive and take one step at a time. I just wanted to add my best wishes and hopes for an easy biopsy and benign results.
Avatar n tn They finally discovered that she has a AVM. A surgeon at CMC-Main in Charlotte, NC and a neurosurgeon in Boston, Mass have told her that it is too risky to operate because of the size, and shape, and area that it sits in (over her speech center). Boston had first told her they thought she would be a candidate for the embolization, but the review board turned her down. The only other thing they said they could offer was to place radioactive ions for up to 3 years??
Avatar n tn Left breast, retroareolar, ultrasond-guided core biopsy: The Pathology report reads: Invasive mammary carcinoma with features suggestive of ductal and lobular types, modified Black's nuclear grade 1 (low grade). Ductual carcinoma in situ (DCIS), modified Black's nuclear grade 3 (high grade), micropapillary type, associated with comedonecrosis and calcifications. What does this mean? (Tumor appears to be approximately 6.
Avatar n tn On Tuesday, at UNC oncology in Chapel Hill, NC, I was told it was stage 1c but to act as if I did not have cancer because the only borderline areas were on the ovaries and everything else was completely clean. I also had a CA 125 which was also normal. I was told no chemo but wanted your opinion. Please do not misunderstand, I do not want chemo but I do want to make sure I am doing all I can to be at least a 40+ year survivor.
Avatar n tn This would suggest that the appearance of the lesion and the pathology report don''t agree/are not in accord. Further evaluation is likely to be recommended to resolve the disagreement between the two.
Avatar f tn Hi, A BIRADS score 5 is rather worrisome, but please remember that only a pathology analysis of the tissue extracted can render a definitive diagnosis. I can understand your concern over this finding, but try not to panic. We have heard from quite a few women in this Forum, that the lump in their breast was found to be benign when biopsied even though they also had a BIRADS score 5 assigned on their report.I hope and pray that your pathology results will reveal something other than breast cancer.
580765 tn?1274919360 I have been referred to a neuro at Duke Medical in NC. I am hopeful to get some answers once and for all, but the appoint is still a few months away. I am on a waiting list to get in sooner. I got the results from my latest MRIs, however, I am concerned that my L and T spine MRI were only done on a 1.5 T machine. My latest 3 week bout with numbness and burning in my right arm has subsided- not gone away completely, but I am left with noticeable weakness in my right hand, but not the arm.
Avatar f tn So, around this time last year I experienced tingling in my left hand that lasted for a few days, coupled with extreme fatigue. Days later, I developed nystagmus only upon waking that lasted for about 10 minutes or so. That eventually went away after about a month. About six months later I had a severe headache that migrated to my right eye and lasted for over a week. Went to an optometrist, no optic neuritis.
Avatar m tn I'm truly hoping you receive benign results, too! If so, I always request a copy of the reports from my mammos, US,MRIs and pathology. I like having them in case I ever need a second opinion or if I'm going to a specialist when the results were positive. Hopefully, you won't need them for that, as I did, but it's always good to have them.
Avatar f tn If by "open," you mean surgical... mine wasn't as bad as I had expected. Like japdip said, you'll be sedated for the duration of the procedure, which usually lasts about a half an hour. Soon after I awoke, I was off on my way along with instructions to follow and a prescription for Vicodin. I felt kinda groggy for the remainder of the day... no doubt that was due to the after effects of the sedative. Anyway, I didn't use the Vicodin script.
Avatar f tn Pathology report shows infiltrating mammary carcinoma, no special type, low combined histologic grade, Low proliferative rate with apocrine cytology, measuring at least 6MM in greatest extent (best measrued on P63 IHC Slide) Calponin and P63 show absence of myoepithelial cells int he neoplastic tubules, consistent with an invasive interpretation. Immunohistochemical studies for estrogen receptor and progesteron receptor are negative. My questions: No special type? What does that mean?
Avatar f tn You can still request that your slides be read by another Pathology Lab. If you aren't seeing a Breast Specialist I suggest that you do so and this might help clear things up for you. I'm sure you are more than aggravated at how things have gone in the past. I'm not sure why the ADH wouldn't show up on Excisional Biopsy unless the area was so small that it was removed by the previous needle procedure/ OR/ the Excisional Biopsy did not include the area of ADH.
