Avatar m tn I would also ask for a second opinion on the pathology by a specialist in gynocoligical pathology. Your Dr is right they often will perserve fertility in those of child-bearing age and then do a complete hysterectomy. But I would ask for first a referral to gyn-oncologist (ask around if you can find one familiar with borderline tumors as they are rare) and a second opinion on the pathology. Good luck and take care.
Avatar m tn s thyroiditis have tongue issues that has/had an impact on your speech? I have the scalloped appearance to my tongue, a swollen feeling near the back and underneath the tongue which affects my speech. Did the thyroid meds fix the problem and if so, how long did it take?
Avatar f tn In addition, you need to get the copies of the pathology report from the colonoscopy and read them. I you had/have colitis in any form that needs to be followied up on. There would be 'visual' evidence in the colonoscopy - and if someone visually saw something, there's going to be some indication in the pathology. Even if it wasn't U.C.
Avatar f tn Decided to have the lumpectomy to ensure only ALH. Had wire localization followed by surgery. Lumpectomy pathology report was DCIS, stage 0, grade 1, no necrosis, cribriform, size .2 cm, clear margins, ER+. Plan was to do 6 weeks radiation. But requested second opinion pathology report which came back as ADH, not DCIS. Breast surgeon says I have three choices - do nothing, tamoxifen or proceed with radiation. What should I do?
Avatar m tn Then there is the mechanical part of communicating our language and that is speech. Problems with speech can include just trying to get the words out, pronouncing the words, the tonal quality of our speech, using emphasis and inflection. Problems with speech can be from weakness or spasticity of the muscles of our mouths, throats and vocal cords. Or it can be with the way our brain tries to direct the speech.
665587 tn?1265946924 Went to pre-op today, this is my pathology report. I really don't understand the oncocytic word (will have to look it up)--from what I was told, it is good news. As 'far as they can tell' it is confined to the thyroid. I will have tt on 11/18, start Synthroid 125 mcg. in hospital, will deal with radiation after thyroid heals. Okay, I am ready for you to grade me in understanding!!! Did I aget an A? COMMENT: Thank you for sharing this most challenging case with us.

Avatar n tn Delayed speech with heaviness and numbness in the tongue can all lead to slurred speech or dysarthria. Dysarthria refers to slow and distorted speech, such as slurring. It results from the inability to control or coordinate the muscles used in speaking. It could be caused due to traumatic head injury, stroke, bell’s palsy, degenerative diseases of the brain etc. I think in your mother’s case it could most probably be stroke or bell’s palsy.
Avatar f tn So, around this time last year I experienced tingling in my left hand that lasted for a few days, coupled with extreme fatigue. Days later, I developed nystagmus only upon waking that lasted for about 10 minutes or so. That eventually went away after about a month. About six months later I had a severe headache that migrated to my right eye and lasted for over a week. Went to an optometrist, no optic neuritis.
Avatar m tn [I]n treating major depression, for example, omega-3s seem to work by making it easier for brain cell receptors to process mood-related signals from neighboring neurons." 4) "The omega-3s found in fish oil are thought to be responsible for the significantly lower incidence of breast cancer in Japanese women as compared to women in the United States." All of these statements are true and have been demonstrated in various scientific studies about omega-3s.
511809 tn?1211301821 I took a pain pill and laid back down, the only major difference with this one was I had slurred speech as I was talking to people. It was like I had been drinking and the pain pill was only tylenol with codone, I had taken them before and my friend thought it sounded as if I was having a stroke. Why did my speech get slurred?
Avatar f tn Pathology report shows infiltrating mammary carcinoma, no special type, low combined histologic grade, Low proliferative rate with apocrine cytology, measuring at least 6MM in greatest extent (best measrued on P63 IHC Slide) Calponin and P63 show absence of myoepithelial cells int he neoplastic tubules, consistent with an invasive interpretation. Immunohistochemical studies for estrogen receptor and progesteron receptor are negative. My questions: No special type? What does that mean?
Avatar f tn You can still request that your slides be read by another Pathology Lab. If you aren't seeing a Breast Specialist I suggest that you do so and this might help clear things up for you. I'm sure you are more than aggravated at how things have gone in the past. I'm not sure why the ADH wouldn't show up on Excisional Biopsy unless the area was so small that it was removed by the previous needle procedure/ OR/ the Excisional Biopsy did not include the area of ADH.
Avatar f tn t seen that as a test for dysphagia in any MS forum. It seems more relevant to get a barium swallow or speech pathology assessment. I've had so many tests lately, and spent so much time at the clinic, that I'd like to avoid this if it's not necessary. Any thoughts?
1656130 tn?1302122686 i would suggest for a mammography n cardiac enzyme test, it will rule out the even smallest pathology related breast n heart, n then go further for any treatments, for this complaints astrological-homoeopathy is best option if no major pathology found, or if any serious health problem go for alternative medicine so that it will not cost u much n even have good health.
Avatar n tn Please consult doctor or get the X ray cervical spine done to rule out cervical pathology. Avoid thick pillows too and also get your blood pressure checked.
Avatar f tn Then I keep on getting more and more minor sprains until last month I got a major sprain. I gave up to see the western doctor so I went to see chinese doctor. He gave chinese medicine but then the pain refuses to go away. There is still a lil swelling on the leg but then not obvious swelling. I can't do long term and heavy work such as standing up and walking for few hours like go and shopping. What exactly happened and please give me some advice regarding about this. Urgent.
Avatar f tn Dear Joacs456 (using your nickname) Really very sorry to hear that. From your question it appears as though there is a pathology in brain--like aneurysm, hematoma etc due to injury. I am sure MRI must have been done after and before surgery. What do the reports say? Have you consulted a senior neurologist? A more detailed information about medical reports and Neurologist's opinion will be very helpful.
5153554 tn?1365430705 Well, you are on drugs, but I suspect breakthrough depression or maybe the Klonopin is to blame. Depression can cause major motor and speech slowing, and I mean major. I've had a couple of times where I couldn't speak and felt unable to move, like I was trapped in my own body. I was able to do automatic things that I didn't think about more easily, but sometimes it was all I could do to move at all. Thankfully these have only ever lasted a few hours.
