Hello everyone on this post who has been experiencing terrible reactions to dental implants. I'm glad to have found this post and am confused and upset that so many of us have to try to understand what is happening without greater awareness and support from the medical profession. I had two titanium implants put in about 8 months ago, and the crowns put in at the end of August.
About 4 months in there was no improvement and so they did another evaluation and said that they believed he had Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Which is a motor speech disorder. Once we got that figured out we were able to gear his speech classes for Apraxia and have had amazing results. Before he only said 8 words and now he is up to almost 70.

m not sure where your from so its probably called something different but there should be programs where you are that helps with children speech development they came to your house they will observe your child and then set up appointments depending on how much and what kind of help she needs they come to your home for the appointments so the child is comfortable there is usually no charge depending on your insurance and they will be able to tell you if she needs testing for autism and where you

He does not mimic any words nor does he attempt to mimic. He has been receiving speech therapy for 6 months and still has not said a word. Do look in to getting her some speech therapy,I think you are wasting some time by waiting till she is 4years old. Would it be an idea if you all put in some money towards the cost of this,making it a shared cost,its great that you have shown an interest in getting help for her,continue to ask her parents to take it further,the out bursts are probably due to her frustration in not being able to express herself too well.

Brain injured patients may receive rehabilitation that involves individually tailored treatment programs in the areas of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech/language therapy, physiatry, psychology, and social support. A complete physical and neurological examination is needed in each treatment program. It would be best to discuss which treatment option is best for you with your doctor for proper evaluation and management.

Do you live in the U.S.? If so, ask your pediatrician about your state's birth to 3 program. When my daughter was 24 months old, her spoken vocabulary was 0 words. She would not point, would not respond to her name, did not respond to any commands or anything including things like "let's go get ice cream". She was diagnosed with PDD, but only recently, and she's almost 3 years old.
How to train ( or educate) a mildly mentally retarded child having markedly delayed speech . He is 4 yr old but V.M S is that of a 2 yr & 6 months' child.Can speak only two simple words together . He does not mix with other children in preschool( where he goes for last one month) may be because unable to speak much { he siarted speaking at age of 3 yrs} ;Does he need a special tutor ? Or parents should be encoureged to get involved in interacting and stimulating his skills and speech.
I would also consider having him evaluated for his speech. It is awesome that he is communicating with you by pointing and making sounds. I agree that talking to him a lot helps and perhaps he is on the cusp of taking off with his speech. However, I would seek the advice of a professional. Your pediatrician can put you in touch with agencies that can evaluate this. do you live in the US?
Honestly, the most responsible thing he can do for your baby is finish school. He'll have more opportunities to be successful and that only means more for your daughter. I know it's frustrating but it's only a few more months. In the mean time, there are programs out there to help you care for your daughter. There are even programs to help you go to trade school and have a career so you don't have to rely on minimum wage jobs or programs for long.
