Give him some time to respond to the therapy (at least a few months, I’d imagine) and then perhaps ask for a re-assessment. If his speech development is later assessed to be typical, and he is not showing any other signs of delay, then you can rest easy. If however, he continues to struggle, then you haven’t lost any time in getting him some help and might consider pursuing further services for him.

Your son is showing some delay in the area of speech/language, and this may be in the context of generally sound development overall. If the pace of his speech/language does not pick up some momentum over the next several months it would be prudent to arrange an evaluation with a Speech/Language pathologist and/or arrange an Earli Intervention evaluation.
He has been seen by a child development doctor. He has had one session of speech therapy, another in a couple of weeks. He has got an appointment with an occupational therapist next week.
I received a copy of the letter addressed to my doctor with a report from when I saw the Child development doctor that said he has mild Hypotonia???

m not sure where your from so its probably called something different but there should be programs where you are that helps with children speech development they came to your house they will observe your child and then set up appointments depending on how much and what kind of help she needs they come to your home for the appointments so the child is comfortable there is usually no charge depending on your insurance and they will be able to tell you if she needs testing for autism and where you

Since my son was a baby he has been banging his head into his pillow at night to go to sleep and makes an ahahahah sound while he does it. My daughter just turned 3 a few weeks ago. While she typically talks in 4-5 word sentences and displays an average vocabulary, I think she is struggling with some comprehension issues. If asked a question she doesn't know the answer to, she will automatically answer yes as opposed to thinking about it or responding with ''I don't know.'' In several areas of his development (speech/language, impulse control, social) he is not keeping pace with what would be expected of his age. It would be wise to arrange a developmenatl evaluation. If you live in an area where you have access to a pediatric hospital, particularly a so-called teaching hospital, this should not be difficult to arrange.
The educators from the Child Development Center my son goes to (he's 3 years old), suggested I sign him up for Speech Therapy at the local elementary school because his speech is delayed. Apparently, by law, the school has to enroll him for this problem. I don't know if this law is state wide or national, but you may look into a Speech Therapy program at your local Elementary school as well.
Hi! I doesn't sound like autism to me. My guess is speech / language delay. I would bring up speech therapy to your pediatrician. Most likely your son still knows all the words that he has learned but stopped using. And one day soon he'll start using each and every one of them.
I had tongue tie release surgery 2 weeks ago, but now it is still quite short, I can't touch the roof of my mouth when my mouth is opwn. I had unclear speech (I can't pronounce some letters very clear, espesially r sound) and the speech didn't changed. I had very poor shouders posture and forward head posture but now I don't. I think the surgery released me from upper body tension but I still have speech problems and the tongue is quite short.
Yes, repeated infections can have an impact on hearing. Your son's development of speech/language is definitiely delayed, and this warants evaluation by a Speech/Language therapist. But an audiological evaluation is crucial, because it is possible that the delay in speech is secondary to hearing loss.
Its hard to say something about your neice too ud want to be careful esp if ytour sister is like mine and would go on what do i know but you dont have to have kids to know something isnt rite. Is your neice in a creche playschool yet her spech would be helped by being round other kids her age has she had a development check up the heatlh nurse would pick up on it and maybe send her for speech and language teraphy if needed and then she mite just grow out of it.
He also uses delayed echolalia in his speech. And he has Semantic Pragmatic Speech Disorder. So his speech development is typically autistic.
However my son is very affectionate. It is not true that those on the autistic spectrum are unaffectionate. Some don't know how to show affection, others do. My son hugs me and tells me he loves me.

We also had his hearing checked through a pediatric ENT (interestingly enough when they took him in the sound chambers he responded (turned his head to the appropriate side) almost every single time they whispered his name. The ABA therapist who is working with him says he is very atypical for a child to be on the spectrum given his social skill sets.
He complained of headaches, had slurred speech at times and a constant tongue throbbing thing for about 2 weeks during that time frame. Is it possible that this abscess may have been developing and causing his odd impulsive behavior then already. he is facing a 5 year felony charge for a stupid stupid action and for the massive area of the left frontal lobe that was compromised i cannot imagine that it could not be considered a factor in his behavior.
tends to be that those with aspergers tend to have more obsessions and their development of speech tends to be age appropriate. However, most parents of children diagnosed with Aspergers still say that their children have language problems specifically with semantics, eg. they take language literally. Is your son able to organise, plan and sequence his work. Does he have good time management.
