adhd

1638868 tn?1309542428 I do what Jen does and add some marijuana at bedtime. Even my Neuro thinks it is a good idea.
459210 tn?1237381603 my question is this, how do you get tested for add? where do you get tested? and which doctor gives you add medicine if you need it? what is the test like ? do they just ask questions? i know i have it and it would be nice to read a book...
Avatar n tn Weird, never heard that one before - and I have been on this site for 4 years. I think that a lot of the adults with ADD would be real surprised if it were true. As long as you have a prescription you are fine.
Avatar m tn My dr. gave me ritlain (sp?) for adult add. This is the first time I ever used it. He gave me a month supply to try out which is 5mg once a day in the morning. I have been taking it for the past 5 days and he wants me to call him back in 2 days and let him know how I am doing on the medication. He said since this is the first time taking it that he would start me at a low dose. Here is the problem it starts working a little after 30 minutes and only last up to 3 hours.
Avatar n tn I seem to be exhibiting every one of these traits, most of which are causing me to be on the brink of loosing my job. What can I do to have this treated? The cheaper the better. And yes, I do have health insurance...
326590 tn?1296062449 Girl I havent done anything else to it. My Shower is on the 19th so I'm going to wait and see how much additional space I'm going to need since my guest list is up to 50people now. Then my mom came in yesterday and said she's going to need an additional 10 invitations for some people at her job. I dont mind that's more pampers and wipes for me! Have you had your shower yet, or do you plan on having one?
Avatar m tn to avoid both the issues of tolerance (where you would need a higher and higher dose to maintain the same level of effectiveness) and dependency. To add, with shorter acting benzos (like Xanax and Ativan), they actually work MUCH better when they're only taken here and there, versus with any kind of regularity. I've been on an "as needed" dose of Ativan for 23 years.
Avatar n tn i am 35 and was diagnoised with ADD at an early age and was prescribed with dexadrin sp? when i was 4 yrs old continued to take until i was starting high school then i would not take as much cause i was a teen and very stubborn, grades slipped dramatically, when i was a junior in high school i got turned on to Pot and have smoke hourly ever since.
490665 tn?1210334012 was wondering if adult add goes un detected for quite a while, its just i suffer with anxiety and have been told its a side effect of add or adhd, i have always been quite hyperactive as a person and as a young person was very unruly and troublesom and did not quite understand why i was like that and why i was doin things wrong, i always have compulsions to get in trouble and still do, i also suffer with a bad temper but i dont mean to have these outbursts they just happen!!
645390 tn?1338555377 Well, now it is Asthma. I had a virus about 2 months ago, and this cough/shortness of breath/chest pressure has stayed with me. I have a history of asthma, but have been "fine" for the last 6 years or so. I have been having lots of trouble breathing, and PCP has had me on now 3 rounds of prednisone, inhalers, etc. No improvement, sent me to a pulmonologist yesterday. I have been also having extreme upper back pain that wraps around me, feels like the MS hug I had in the past.
Avatar f tn I am hoping I can learn more about the onset of Adult ADD or could I possibly have had this for many years without my knowledge?? I have a VERY physical job and have worked 10+ hours a day for 23 years. Until an unnecessary hysterectomy 3 years ago I was OK with my extra energy and could deal with it fairly well. Now, with the major changes in my body, I am feeling crazy. My brain still goes and goes and goes.
Avatar f tn I have been under care for Depression for 10 years, OCD with Hoarding symptons for 4 years, and Adult ADD for 2 years. I have been going to a chiropractor for almost 2 years because of pain. But the the pain continues to worsen along with fatique and muscle/joint pain, trouble walking, stiffness, CRS (can't remember s**t-lol). My job performance suffers because some days I just can't get out of bed.
Avatar n tn Ive been on many different anti depressants for years, my Dr. finally said it may be add and added 5mg of adderall 2x's a day. I think it might make a little difference. If it is Add would 5 mg make any difference?
Avatar f tn Something to help you relax and be able to sleep? My Cardiologist said it was ok to take Clonazepam (sp?) a benzodiazapine (sp?) to help relax and sleep. Of course I wouldn't use it all of the time....but once in a while?
1156727 tn?1309567608 I was diagnosed at 13 w/ (mild) ADD. I took 10 mg of ritalin & that did the trick. In '05, I was diagnosed w/ complete heart block & had a pacemaker inserted in June 2005. I still feel that I have "adult" ADD & over the past year & a half feel it has been getting worse. I didn't notice it at my last job b/c I had been there so long I could do the work in my sleep. I have been taking quite a few medical classes b/c I am study to be an Occupational Therapy Asst.
Avatar n tn Sounds normal to me, to be honest. She's only 6------ it is difficult to block out all things and completely focus when in a noisy (which they all kind of are at that age) classroom. Is she doing fine with her work?? Is school coming to you with complaints? If not, then I would not make this into a big deal. If you think about it, we all have a subconsious as well that 'speaks' to us. Totally normal but a hard thing for a young child to verbalize.
Avatar f tn s been helping a little but I think she needs more of a boost. I had ADD problems aswell as 2 other of my siblings, the sister I look out for is only a half sister, but she could have picked it up from my dad anyway. I talked to my dad about getting her ADD medication and he fears it will make her worse. 15 years ago my brother took ADD medication that had some weird side effects and my dad doesn't want my sister to go through the same thing.
