Avatar n tn Hi Welcome to the MedHelp forum! This could either be due to some food allergy or due to Vit B12 deficiency. Low iron could also be a cause. Take iron and Vit B supplements and log in what you eat. See if some particular food types cause more problem. Take care!
Avatar f tn What causes a cronic sore tongue which looks like something has cut it along the tip and front sides? This discussion is related to cracked sides of my tongue.
Avatar n tn I have recently been checked over by an oncologist/haematologist. He commented that my tongue was also very smooth and did the full checks for celiac (sore tongue a symptom of this too). But came up negative for celiac disease. Six years ago when i was 38 i got a high ANA result of 2560 Homogenous SLE (Lupus) but have never had any symptoms. I thought perhaps the burning tongue, sore shoulders, neck, vice like headache perhaps had something to do with this or another autoimmune disease.
Avatar f tn Muscle pain all over, drier skin on face (used to be a little oily-this is gone), tight neck/jaw/inside mouth area and strange sensations when I swallow, have lost about 1/3 of my hair, geographical tongue look and now slightly swollen tongue with scallops or ridges on the end of it, sore hands and feet and feet are extremely intolerant to cold, body twitches, tremors, strange chemical like smell in nose that hasnt gone away for a few months.
Avatar n tn Why is my tongue so sore? I have dry mouth from taking prescriptions and my tongue over a period of time has become very sore and sensitive to salt or pepper or spicy food.
Avatar f tn I knew that smoking FSC cigarettes inflammed my tongue (swollen and cracked and sore) and stopped smoking them as soon as I realized the cause. Since all cigs are now FSC I am quitting but my tongue and not healed. What is causing this awful reaction? Avatar f tn Besides the tingling and muscle spasms, I have vision problems, extreme fatigue, muscle weakness, gastritis, and red swollen tongue. I can deal with most of this, but my tongue I cant. It is always sore. My papilla fall off leaving big swollen red sores. I can barely taste anything. Eating is extremely painful. I have terrible stomach pain everyday. My doctor put me on nexium and my mouth is even more sore. I almost faint when I stand up.
Avatar f tn In October of 2016, I developed a sore in the corner of my mouth. It felt like when you eat a chip, and cut the corner of your mouth except it was deeper, red, and raised. There was no pain when I left it alone, but pain when i opened and closed my mouth. Someone told me it was a cold sore, and to treat it with alcohol, but this made it worse. I then started using a tube of Lysine plus.
1224706 tn?1267220143 Antidepressants and antianxiety drugs such as nortryptiline and clonazepam are found to treat such burning tongue or burning mouth syndromes caused by menopause. One thing that I can think of is a Vit B 12 deficiency. Hence you can ask your PCP to check this out. You may not have any other symptom of Vit B12 deficiency if it is in its initial stage.
Avatar f tn I checked my Vit B and all normal, specially Vit B 12. I tried to make colon cleanse, but nothing happened. I also tried probiotics, aloe vera, but I just keep on looking for something else to cure me. I am desperate and so sad about all this. I am a 30 year old woman, married with a 3 year old son, who is planning to get pregnant again but just cant seem to settle in relation to my health I dont feel I want to get pregnant now.
Avatar f tn Painful tip of the tongue that feels like paper thin cuts can be due to Vit B and iron deficiency. So take a multivitamin pill with iron and see. If this does not help then you will need to get tested for referred dental pain, cancer of tip of tongue, nerve damage or herpes. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hi Heather, WELCOME TO MEDHELP! I'm not an expert on MS. I'm thinking your symptoms "could" be related to MS". Here is an article you might want to check out: http://www.publix.com/wellness/notes/Display.do?id=Concern&childId=Vitamin_B12_Deficiency I've been reading up on B-12 lately, that is why I'm responding to your post. Oral thrush is very hard to clear up and takes the longest to clear.
Avatar n tn There is also something like a cold sore on my tongue, it is not a bump exactly, but a white ring kind of bump. I have recently had poison ivy on my face, and it is still on my ear (going away). The crust on my lip is hardly noticeable to the naked eye, and can be removed easily, so that is what leads me to believe it is a crust, rather than skin.

Avatar f tn Three months ago, I read that nerves need vitamin B so I started taking the liquid 5000 mcg of Ultra B-12 a day and the neuropathy has gone away. If I forget to take the B for a day, I know it by night as mild burning returns. Do you believe that it can be the vitamin B that has taken the neuropathy away? 559187 tn?1330782856 Hi Julie, I've had the same thing on and off for a long time. Actually am having it at the moment. My tongue feels weird and kind of tingly.... Could still be Vit B12 deficiency. Some people need B12 injected rather than by spray or orally. Have your Vit B12 levels been rechecked? It is impossible to overdose on VitB12 so maybe try increasing the dose? Also, are you getting your other BVits? I should look at that for myself.... Could it be food sensitivity? Just an idea.
Avatar f tn d take high potency multi-Vit B with breakfast and lunch, plus, perhaps for a month or two, a bit extra of the separate B vitamins whose deficiency symptoms you have, plus a good multi-vitamin-multi mineral combination. When you see and feel improvement you can drop the additional separate B's, but continue with the rest of them. B vits tend to rev most people up with more energy, so I don't take them after 1 or 2 PM. Make a list of your symptoms: appearance, feel, taste.
