m pretty sure I read that these cough drops can cause the canker sores. My main issue is now I have this painful bump in the back of my throat/mouth/tongue.
I've had this pain for about a week now and seems to be getting worse. I've googled what it could be but with no luck. I can't see this bump but i can feel it and it seems like its where the tongue connects to the back side of my mouth near the tonsil on the right side of my mouth.
I just read the symptoms can come back in the future. I have NOT had my tonsils taken out. Anyway since that day I have had to NON stop clear the phlegm out of my throat. I keep a cup next to my bed at night to spit in it's that bad. I have had oral sex with guys who are pretty trustworthy that they don't have any STDs but I am worrying now if it is possible that I could have something, or if I need my tonsils removed or what!
I have not started treatment yet, but my tongue is swollen and feels like it is cracked. This will be my 3rd time to do treatment in the last 20 years, but I don't recall the sore tongue. Any input will be appreciated.
Hard to see much in that photo (it's mostly tongue and soft palate), but you can see the upper pole of your left tonsil. Your tonsils could be rather cryptic. This is a condition where the tonsils collected debris and can be rather foul-smelling. Some people have success using devices such as water-picks or instruments to remove the debris. If this is indeed that case, and you cannot get relief with conservative measures, having your tonsils removed could be helpful.
I also have some on the back sides of my tongue, one cluster on each side, right where the tongue meets the back molars. There's a large patch on the back of my tongue, and I can feel a patch in my throat when I cough.
Four days ago, I visited the doctor about my still-sore throat. He said I had herpangina, a non-STD virus. However, everything I've read about herpangina says that it clears up within a week max.
Another day passed and white papules appeared inside my cheek touching the top row of my teeth in the back. The tip of my tongue also felt burnt, even though I hadn't drank or ate anything hot enough to burn it. I stopped using the salt water and the burnt tongue feeling went away after 4 days and the sores and papules have gotten smaller, but are still present. Is there any way this could be syphilis or any other kind of STD? Should I get retested for syphilis?
I woke up this morning with a horrible sore throat. When I looked in the mirror, my uvula was 3 times it normal size & laying on my tongue, red with a bit of white spots, & tongue a bit swollen too. I asked my husband if I was snoring & he didn't remember hearing me snore. I called my obgyn for advice since I'm 36 weeks & they want me to go get a strep test to be on the safe side. I don't have tonsils so it's not tonsillitis.
Had anybody else experienced this?

He's a month and 5d but he was a month early and he didn't really latch until he was.
Several days ago I started having a bit of pain in the back right side of my mouth. The pain has gotten worse and when I went to put an oral anashetic on the cotton swab came back out with blood on it. I'm hungry but don't want to eat because it hurts so bad and I'm having trouble speaking because my tongue hurts as well now. My throat is slightly sore and it is slightly painful to swallow. I don't feel any swollen lymph nodes.
So I work at a school and on valentine’s day I got a bunch a fun dip, and I depressingly ate a bunch in one sitting. My tongue got irritated and my taste buds got sore (only on the tip and sides) and it was really just red bumps some kinda white, which makes me think those were inflamed papillae just from so much fun dip. BUT now these white spots have formed on the roof of my mouth, they don’t really hurt but kinda like they’re sore to the touch honestly they’re kinda just uncomfortable.
It was painful and a little sore. When I felt my tongue, I noticed there was a lump inside of my tongue that is painful to press on. The lump is not visible, but can be felt if I grab the top and bottom of my tongue. It is located on the right side of my tongue near the tip of my tongue. I went and seen my doctor today and she diagnosed it as a thyroglossal cyst. In doing more research, those cyst do not typically appear at the front of her tongue.
s weird because I have a canker ulcer on the side of my tongue probably from biting or something from a few days back. It seems to be healing up but noticed a vein appearing on the sides near the location near the sore. Are these two related and is it normal to get flesh colored veins on the sides of tongue? Is this something I should be worried about? Thank you.
