sore tongue children

Hi guys, I'm really worried about my daughter she's 4, I believe my wife and I have herpes type 2 my wife is currently waiting for results from swabs to come back. My question is my little girl keeps getting an ulcer on her inner lip same place each time she doesn't complain or say it hurts, but I'm worried sick! She's fine in her self.

I too discovered a sore on the side of my tongue on Monday. ( today is Wednesday ) it is large and really red irritated and it looks black and blue around the edge. There is also one spot that is black and blue on the end of my tongue. I do have a bad tooth or so on that side that need attention and I had the flu over the past weekend and was vomiting quite forcefully. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I am really scared right now.

I have not started treatment yet, but my tongue is swollen and feels like it is cracked. This will be my 3rd time to do treatment in the last 20 years, but I don't recall the sore tongue. Any input will be appreciated.

Has your dentist ever looked at your tongue? I have a geographic tongue and also, I have had a very sore tongue due to low........ (Well, phooey!!!!!!! s like a cluster of little white, water blisters about the size of 1/2 dime.It looks like a cold sore on his tongue. He is also drooling more than normal. These were not present earlier this week. He is eating, drinking and behaviorally appears normal. He does not appear lethargic. I can't think of any instances where he ate anything bad or got his tongue in anything. In regards to the flat spots on your tongue and the red burning sensation you've had on it as well, you might look into the possibilty of that being glossitis. I myself have a form of glossitis called 'geographic tongue' which is where red flat patches appear on the tongue then go away. It's caused by stress and is a harmless condition. Sometimes certain foods can trigger it as well.

m going to die and ruin the lives of my wife and children. This sore throat and tongue bumps will not go away. I am just getting over a cold and during the cold I noticed an ulcer or cold sore ontop of my tongue for a few days. Now when I look under my tongue I have what looks like a peice of shin hanging down it is sore and hangs down about 1/8 of an inch. I have been experiencing the same sore tongue problem on and off, I am on week 14 of interferon/riba. I find if I am able to bush my teeth right after eating it makes a difference, if I don't it flairs up. I just started using biotene toothpaste and so far my mouth seems happier. Rinsing with baking soda/water 3 to 4 times a day seems soothing and provides some relief, I read that it can help with thrush.
