Because of all of these allergies, I assumed the tongue issue would also be allergy related (the allergy specialist disagrees though). We have also tried Benadryl to no avail.
He hasn't had a decent night's sleep in weeks. There are days that he refuses to eat because of the itch and subsequent pain from the sores. He's missed several days of school because of this. I'm at a loss. Has anyone experienced anything like this?
But I keep getting these sore patches on my tongue, the back of my tongue hurts too. I also notice patches on the sides of my tongue and on the inside of my cheeks but like that day at the Dr's they were not there because I had brushed my teeth.
My immune system as far as I know is fine, so I don't get why the thrush is bothering me so much. I have recently had bloods taken and all was normal apart from a slight low white cell count.
m 32 weeks pregnant it seems like anything I eat will cause these weird sore shape things on my tongue and make it hurt a lot until I rinse my mouth I Googled it and it seems like I have geographic tongue ....anyone else experience this and will it go away or not be so painful after I have my baby? It grosses me out!!

This could either be due to some food allergy or due to Vit B12 deficiency. Low iron could also be a cause. Take iron and Vit B supplements and log in what you eat. See if some particular food types cause more problem.

Sore tongue can be seen with herpes virus (often referred to as “cold sores” but this infection usually shows an abnormal tongue surface. Another condition associated with sore tongue is anemia secondary to deficiency of folic acid or vitamin B12. You might want to consult a dermatologist about the sore tongue, and the sore tongue may be the key to diagnosing your underlying disease.
So my family is all a little sensitive to fruit. The acidity makes our tongue itch. Unfortunately that's all I seem to want to eat, apples, pears, nectarines, cherries... now my tongue is sore and it hurts to eat anything. Last night after spaghetti I nearly cried because my tongue hurt so bad (acid in tomatoes), but I just wanted to eat more. Does anyone else have this problem?
I've had a sore throat for three months with no other symptoms. In April, I went to Urgent Care, because it felt like my throat was on fire it was so unbelievably sore. After being tested I was told that I thankfully do not have strep throat. She prescribed me medication called Loratadine, which I began taking once a day and suggested taking a Benadryl every night before bed.
now here is where i screwed up, to lubricate the vibrator i inserted it in my mouth (touching the back of my throat) and pulled it out and used it on her. that was the only contact i encountered and since then the next day ive had a sore throat that comes and goes within a week.
about a week later these red bumps on the back of my tongue appeared (have to stick my tongue out to see them).
Now its april 20th and i went to the doc and showed him the bumps and he says they are "taste buds" and they get bigger as they go back. so i thought i was ok (but i didnt tell him about the vibrator incident.) i am currently taking zpak (5th day) and the sore throat is almost gone but the bumps (no pain from them) are still there.
Boy am I glad I found this site! My 12 y.o. son started having bouts with tongue swelling at night. It recurs if he fails to continue daily Allegra. We've tested everything and nothing stands out. He has seasonal allergies, cat, dust and mold allergies but not significant. We thought it may be the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Toothpaste which has been reported to cause the same symptoms. We changed to Aquafresh and same results.
My tongue also develops a sore. Strips of my tongue are missing (3 times now). In addition, my tongue also gets swollen making it hard to talk. I don't know if it is related or not but I also get headaches every evening. My tongue feels better in the morning when I wake up and gets progessively worse throughout the day. It also appears to go in cycles with the end of the cycle being the loss of actual pieces of my tongue.
I had a sore throat in April, and the doctor gave me amoxicillin believing i had strept throat, without swabbing. The antibiotics didn't work until day 7 out of 10, and a few days after i finished the antibitocs it came back. A different doctor prescribed me cefaclor which worked after using it for 1 day. When I finished the prescription, a day after i had a sore throat.
I woke up this morning and took my vit b12 under the tongue and also a multi vitamin. Within 1/2 hr I felt nausea and vomited then I felt my skin on fire. I was so red like a sunburn sore and had hives all over me. Is it possible to be allergic to the vit. I have taken the both in the past but just started taking them again the last few days.
The bumps and blisters on my tongue have not went away but do not bother me anymore but my gums are still very sore and bleed. This has lasted for about 3 months and I had swollen lymoh nodes in my neck for a few weeks in the beggining but that went away. I have not had any sick feelings or fever or anything like that just problems with my mouth I am very concerned as to what it may be.
In these 'm facing lots of symptoms such mild diaharria,sore thraot and allergy and commoncold...And also I'm not doing any sex with my wife with the fear.... I'm just thinking that I will be the first guy of contracting this way..I warrant Hivtesting?,do I need to consult with doctors?
I had been with very very highly risky girl,she told me that she had unprotected sex with many others....While we meet in park....I tongue kissed her very numerous times with taking time..Since I had a lip brust and some sore in my mouth...While kissing once i had hurt her and later i tasted few blood in my mouth but it continued..........after 3 days, I realized and searched on the net,,,,,,,,and found out very different different view....
Iron deficiency and Vit B6 or pyridoxine deficiency may also be associated as the tongue swells on a bad day. The other possibility is allergy to some food preservative or to propylene glycol which is found in some food items, drugs and cosmetics. Maybe your dental paste has it. Check this out. Possibility of any drugs causing it or dry mouth, oral cancer, damage to the lingual nerve, and diabetes are the other causes for a burning tongue and if nothing else is found these should be explored.
My son is on year round allergy medication. It sure keeps him feeling better. Post nasal drip can cause a sore throat and he also has itching which makes him try to clear to itch it which can be irritating in and of itself. Have you ever seen an allergist? My son's allergies are pretty straight forward. Responds well to otc allergy meds.
