I took Augmentin and my ear felt better, but it took weeks for my sore throat to get better. During pregnancy our immune systems are suppressed, so we are much more susceptible to everything, besides the fatigue and aches we already feel from pregnancy. There are antibiotics you can take if you do end up with an ear infection, and the one thing is you should always get checked out if you are feeling sick. During pregnancy a mild illness can turn serious fast.

Hello. I am 7 weeks today. My 7 yr old son became sick 3 days ago. Sore throat, hoarse voice and fever. Sometimes slight cough. Well 2 days ago he coughed directly into my face. Well last night my throat started to hurt, became severe. I took my son and myself to the doctor and was told it's only a viral infection. Well now we both have temps of 101. Should I be concerned with being so sick this early in pregnancy?

Also my suspected inital outbreak was on the outter part of my thight about half way up the thigh above the knee. the doctor said folliculities cause i suffer from that anyway however what are the chances of catching HSV 2 with the inital outbreak being on the thigh?

11 when i started having sore throat and fever (may be because i had an ice cream shake previous night i.e 13th feb) the fever reached 102 degrees F for about a couple of minutes and fluctuated between normal to 100 afterwards. I did take paracetamol on 14th night and 15th morning, the fever was normal then on the 15th feb but in the evening it reached 100 degrees F and i took an antibiotic.

It was really weird, a few days before my period was due, i woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose... I thought it was allergies but when I went to google "sore throat stuffy nose", a search popped up saying "early pregnancy symtoms"... Apparently women get what they think is a cold be ause your body is lowering its immune system so it doesnt attack the "baby"... 4 days later i got a positive pregnancy test. I had no other symptoms.

I took one benedryl last night and then today I woke up with a sore throat. I am pretty sure it is from drainage because one of my ears hurts too! I had a sore throat in early pregnancy at times.. I would check with your doctor before taking anything. If you can live with it, I wouldnt take anything. The stage of your pregnancy, it is a really critical time for brain development in your baby so its best to avoid anything that you can.

Thanks but its weird I haven't gotten a sore throat or anything throat related since i got my tonsils removed my senior year of high school I was 17 I use to get strep 7 or more times a year it would be so bad I would have white patches and swelling to the point I couldn't breath

Anyone get migraine/headaches along with dizziness early in pregnancy?? I usually get migraines around my period but never the dizziness. I've also had a sore throat the past couple days as long with it. This has been going on for 2 days now for me. Any ideas ladies??

The long haul is certainly a mental challenge along with the physical effects, especially early in trt. Hope the sore throat improves.
