540911 tn?1263191014 Have any of you become pregnant while breastfeeding, and if so, did you still get sore BBs?
Avatar f tn Most hospitals have consultants and WIC also does. In the meantime, the best and most natural thing to do to aid in healing your nipples is to express a little of your own breastmilk, and rub it on the nipples to air dry.
Avatar f tn 16W4d. My nipples have been itchy the whole day. Now they are sore.
Avatar f tn Even with a great latch your nipples typically still get pretty dang sore in the very beginning. Thankfully your body gets used to it, as long as it's a good latch of course. I've nursed three so far, and will definitely be breastfeeding my last as well. Good luck and congrats!
Avatar f tn I understand that your nipples are supposed to be sore but I'm 19 weeks now and they still are! How long does it last?
Avatar f tn m currently breastfeeding baby number 3 and my nipples have gotten sore and bloody with every baby. I just kept applying lanolin and let them air out as much as possible. As for milk production my milk doesn't usually come in until day 3 or 4 but then I have a good supply. Things that help are making sure you are well hydrated, letting baby nurse as frequently and for as long as wanted. I've heard that eating oatmeal can help increase production.
Avatar f tn I used to pump for 20 to 30 mins per session. And due to that, I think my nipples got cracked and was very sore and swollen. I stopped pumping for 2 months. Today, I started again, and I noticed blood in milk only on one breast (breast which had cracked) I'm worried. The milk is coming out clear when I squeeze my breast But I don't see any crack on my nipples. So idk where the blood is coming from. Is it something to worry?

1806883 tn?1458321004 m breastfeeding my tenth baby, hes 5 1/2 months and all is good, except for the last 3 days my nipples are soooo sore, nothing about his feeding has changed, the only other times my nipples have felt like this when b/fding is when i've fallen pregnant, but i have been using o''sticks and it doesnt look like i've ovulated this month which isnt uncommon as I only had my first period since my son was born on the 20 sept, anyone else had anything like this happen?
Avatar f tn If you do it correctly it shouldn't hurt. Now at first they will be sore until u get used to it. After about 2 weeks they should be fine. The key to avoiding sore nipples is latching the baby on properly. Mine didn't sag from breastfeeding, it was the tons of weight I gained and lost so quickly. Good luck.

Avatar f tn @ashlii00 Don't be scared! Honestly after being in labor (even if you get an early epidural) breastfeeding pain is a piece of cake. Inconvenient, yes, but you birthed a baby! You're a super hero mama. Sore nipples pass, and breastfeeding is good for both of you.
9536744 tn?1414122031 s some breastfeeding moms on here. Ive been exclusively breastfeeding my baby girl since she was born for 3 weeks now and my nipples are still very sore is this normal? will it go away soon?
Avatar n tn Bought seamless comfort bras just to sleep in--cheap at Marshalls & Walmart. They slip over the head. Extra support has helped. I wear maternity/nursing bra during the day. While BF I used lanolin last time and slept in a maternity/nursing bra at night but I've also heard people like those nursing tanks. Not enough support for me but might work for you.
Avatar n tn I had to complement with formula, now after many efforts I switched to breastfeeding only, but my nipples are very sore. He stays in the breast for long periods and when he finishes my nipples look white and flattened like pinched. They hurt so bad that I am thinking about giving him formula again. I always wait until he opens his mouth wide and latch on, but he alwys finish in the nipple and it hurts.
Avatar f tn Does anyone else have sore nipples after breastfeeding...any suggestions please...
Avatar f tn You can also let the girls out to breathe and put lanolin or rub breast milk on the nipples to help. Can you pump from the right and whats he reason you can give from that one? You can also hand express for a little relief if you dont have a pump. We also have a very helpful breastfeeding forum that can help.
Avatar f tn Breastfeeding is definitely worth it! Helps form a bond with your baby as well as the best nutrition you can give your baby to start life.
Avatar f tn So my mother-in-law tells me that I need to toughen up my nipples before the baby gets here by rubbing them raw with a wash cloth like twice a week. I'm guessing to help keep them from cracking etc. When I start to breastfeed. Is this an old wives tale?? I'm not sure what to think of it.
