Does anyone else out there have or had a terrible sore neck? it hurts so much in the back. Mythroat feels like I can't swollow where it feels like that little adam's apple won't move. even my jaw hurts. I went to the ENT - he wants to see the actual US films . I called the pharmacist and he said prednisone should not be the cause of any pain I am having. Would this nodule cause so mych pain ? adn IF it spread to lymph node could this be my pain too.

After a few days I started to develop all the “classic” ARS symptoms; fever, night sweats, sore shoulders and neck, lack of appetite, sore head, aching muscles, feeling exhausted, rash on my trunk etc... Your persistent symptoms of sore throat, ear pain and lymph node swelling could be due to a throat infection, most probably streptococcal or a viral infection. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.

I thought I had strep. My only symptoms at the time were a fever and a severe sore throat. The quick test came back negative. They took a culture sample which later came back to be negative. Since then, my throat has not been better, but I no longer have fevers. I do not have other symptoms. Over the next few days I developed stiff/sore back of the neck, stiff/sore lower back, and one of my/ eyes now has a dull/achy pain. Should I be worried about meningitis?

Only know persistent sore throught from glandular fever/EBV/monocucleosis. It's viral and antibiotics don't help. Normally you also have swollen lymph knodes but anyway, checking the EBV antibodies mihgt be worth ...

Also,I am 27. The fever didn't go away with ibuprofen. My lymph nodes in.my necklace sore. Not noticeably too big. And I have hot and cold flashes with the fever. When I'm cold the body pains are much worse and I.cannot sleep. I can only sleep when the fever is down or I'm feeling hot because then the pain isn't as bad.

I was sick about a week ago. I got a cold sore, was achy and tired, and had sinus pain. I had a doctors appointment for an unrelated reason and the doctor noticed the glands in my neck were swollen. I pretty much shrugged it off and witthin a few days I was feeling better.
