1517712 tn?1290775486 My pain was in my upper and mid back but when he x-rayed my neck he said it was curved the wrong way. So, he did a manual neck manipulation. I was sore that night and the next day but I assumed it was just from the manipulation and that it would go away. My next visit, I explained it to him and he dismissed it as normal, did the same neck manipulation and this time he put electric stimulation pads on my neck and put me on the traction table. The next day, my pain was worse.

Avatar m tn I am only 35 years old and I know I have had this for many years. I also have sore joints and muscles throughout my back and neck. I have some DDD throughout. I am 6'4 and weigh 270 pounds. I know I need to lose weight to help, but are there treatments in the meantime? I know I may need surgery someday, as I have leg pain and weakness from time to time, but I want to know if there is something that can help hold that off for a while...

Avatar f tn My neck has given me trouble since the accident and symptoms would flare up in the form of a very stiff neck. At times my neck was so sore and stiff that I could not lift my head off of my pillow. The stiffness would last a few days and everything would fine again… for a while. Six months ago I had a severe flare up and my index finger and thumb on my left hand went completely numb.
535882 tn?1396576685 There's a form of chiropractic called network, which uses much more subtle techniques than the bone crackers. I saw one for awhile. It's more like acupressure massage than ordinary chiropractic, and it was pretty cool. But no, they probably can't cure anxiety, they can just help make it less obnoxious. The only cure for anxiety is to stop thinking anxious thoughts, but hell if I've been able to do that. Met people who have, though.
Avatar n tn If problem just in neck and nothing go down to arm,Massage, acupuncture, chiropractic ...anyone of them can help.
2197472 tn?1338509082 However, seeing a physiotherapist doesn’t cross anyone’s minds till things are so bad that they are actually referred to one by their doctor. For back pain, neck pain, sports injuries we need chiropractic.
Avatar m tn He said that its due to neck spasm. He investigated my pain using pressure points on my neck, adjusted my neck and suggested below things. 1) Epsom bath 10 minutes/ 2 times a day 2) Ice pack on neck 2 minutes on and 1 minute off for 15 minutes / 3 times a day. 3) Adjustment of my computer screen so that my neck wont get strain. 4) Use left hand for mouse movements at home (any how I will use right hand at office) He asked me to have 3 more visits next week (Mon, Wed, Fri).
969163 tn?1281105479 This is common for me, but usually ice and chiropractic appointments soothe it. My neck pain has turned into a soreness and stiffness. I can't bend my neck down very far and I have to try harder to keep my head up. Today, early in the morning. I woke up and suddenly cracked my neck, the pain eventually subsided. Later in the day, Pain appeared in the right side of the neck around my thyroid, with shooting pain down to my clavicle. All of these places hurt greatly when pressed.
Avatar n tn Have been to the doctor, diagnosed as vertiogo, physio trastment has not been effective, suspect that problem is in my neck, always have a sore neck - can my neck have something to do with my peripheral vertigo problem?
Avatar f tn numbness and tingling in arms and face, right hand turning purple several times in the last week, dizzieness, falling, vision problems, sensitivity to light, nausea, some vomiting, hard time concentrating, memory problems, sore throat, to name the most troublesome. I had chiropractic work in the beggining months in accordance with my doctor's recommendation. But I stopped a few months ago when it seemed to be aggravating the problem. The last time put me in bed for a few weeks!
Avatar f tn Most of my back, pelvis, and both sides of my neck. There was a lot more cracking sounds in my neck than usual. I got very light-headed, dizzy, my ears went fuzzy feeling and it was a little difficult to hear properly, I felt a little nauseous, and got VERY sweaty. I told the chiropractor and then just laid back down on the table to avoid passing out. If I wouldn't have laid back down, I know I would have passed out.

Avatar m tn I carried a box approx 40lbs and about 5 feet in length on my back with my neck bent, and I also recently starting going to the gym, (mainly cardio) treadmill cross trainer, it started with a dull ache to the left of my spine, just below my shoulder blade, and going into my shoulder blade, if I massaged my upper shoulders on my back it hurt and sometimes I got pins and needles. I went to the chiropractor and he did an exam and x-rays, I am awaiting my next appt.
Avatar n tn Now, 9 years later, with continual chiropractic adjustments, my neck is back to normal, my body is well.... and haven't had a headache or dizzy spell since. (i feel stronger, my immune system is stronger, and i feel well) Healing is a process...it sounds like you didn't give chiropractic a chance. It is not a quick fix, it is a process....Maybe your chiro forgot to tell you that....
Avatar m tn In the last year or so, I have developed pain wiht typing. The pain occurs in the my shoulder, my neck and my upper back, especially in my shoulder blades and under my arms in the rib area. Also the pain seems to be worse on my right side from the side of my neck down to my right shoudler and shoulder blade. I also get a knot in the middle of my back. I have tried PT to strengthen my back, but with no help. The pain kept returning. I have tried antiinflammatories and muscle relaxers.
Avatar m tn t have migraines but neck pain. The chiropractic treatment eased my pain a few times but the pain comes right back full force-either a few hours later or a day later. My headache is on the right side of my head, behind my ears and then travels down to the side of head. Any suggestions? Should I continue with the chiropractic care or find another headache center? Is the REAL-EaSE Neck Support device any good?
Avatar m tn It has been three years and I still am experiencing headaches and spasms in my neck. I have tried muscle relaxers, painkillers, chiropractic treatment, physical therapy, cervical epidural, and accupuncture and have had very limited success in dealing with the pain. The only treatment that gave me any sustained relief was the epidural.
534105 tn?1226157177 I visited after a new chiropractic specialist (he is MD also) and told me that maybe the chiropractic practic left my spine not aligned and this is the reason of my dizzines. I am now planning a secon set of sessions with this new Dr but I am a little scared of the risks involved. Do I have to put me on chiro again? or my arthrosis is a risk factor? Thanks for your input.
Avatar n tn t someone close by, there are a few full-spine chiropractic methods that can safely and gently manipulate your neck without twisting. These include Activator Methods, Integrator, and Pro-Adjuster instruments.
5914779 tn?1376598638 Hi, all! I've been doing some serious thinking about seeing a chiropractor for my lower back/hip pain. I know I'm not supposed to have any head/neck manipulation done, but I've seen that some people are against ANY adjustments of the spine. So, is it safe to adjust below the cervical spine? Shoulders? Thanks!
Avatar f tn My understanding is that Chiari and chiropractic care do not mix. My neurosurgeon told me that having a chiropractor adjust your neck when you have Chiari "is like standing on the edge of a tiger pit and having someone give you a push." I also had a chiropractor tell me that chiropractic care in the neck area is contraindicated for those with Chiari.
Avatar f tn Again, since we don’t know what type of symptoms you have, its hard to know if this is even a factor. Problems with C6 can cause neck pain, shoulder pain, scapula pain, thumb and index finger pain. Tell us a little about the pain and symptoms you're experiencing and how your Doctor is currently treating you.
Avatar f tn I have throughout the years done chiropractic, physical therapy, shots, you name it. I still have episodes where I can not function at all or turn my head.
