Avatar f tn My Chiari surgery site usually feels more tender to the touch on the days my muscles hurt the worst and all of my senses are more heightened. The wind blowing on my skin or water running on my skin hurts and I a feel exhausted the minute I get out of bed. And yes, the souls of my feet hurt also. They feel like someone is pushing a stick up through the bottom of them. Rest and quietness help and ice packs on my neck, when I go to bed usually feel good too, if sensitivity has gone down by then.

Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, Your question has landed in the MS community but bleeding and swollen gums is very common and typically caused by bacteria not being removed by your oral hygiene routine or technique, often all that's needed are minor changes eg using an anti bacterial mouth wash, replacing your tooth brush every 3 months, changing to a soft bristle tooth brush, brushing more softly, altering your flossing routine, brushing in a circular motion, brush at about a 45 degree angle, eating a low

1724105 tn?1309577226 The sternocleidomastoid muscles are most likely those which are giving you problems. There are two of these muscles in the superficial layers of the anterior (front) portion of the neck that make the shape of a ā€œVā€, and they are primarily helpful in rotation, flexing and extension of the head. They run from the center of the sternum (breastbone) and the clavicle (collarbone) up to the mastoid process, a bone in the skull located behind the ears.

Avatar n tn Well I started biting down on my jaw (left side only) and now the muscles on jaw and in my neck on my left side twitch. Of course I have the jaw pain and ear pain associated with the biting down on my jaw. But I have never had muscle twitches in my neck. Anyone have any answers?
20927897 tn?1681118903 Sore muscles are inevitable if you workout daily. There is only one way to avoid soar muscles and continue working out. Studies show that warming up your muscles before exercise may be better than stretching them. It wakes up your muscles by increasing blood flow to them. To warm up, do light versions of certain exercises. These include slow jogging or biking, jumping rope, or lifting light weights. Warming up before workout helps protect you from muscle strain or injury.
Avatar m tn Suddenly I am having muscles soreness in a few random spots on my body. It started in the heels of my feet, it isn't my whole foot, just one particular spot by the heel. I haven't bought new shoes or anything recently, or been standing anymore than usual. It is the exact same spot on both feet, and there does not appear to be any bruising or anything. This started about a week ago. A day or so after, my right shoulder started hurting very badly.
Avatar m tn Now a month ago my calves started to twitch, the twitching occured sometimes on more places of one calf at the same time, the twitchings were very short but constant there. A week later my feet also started to twitch, and my calves and feet started to feel sore. My doctor keeps telling me that i don't need to see a neurologist. Tonight i woke up with pain in my front upper leg. I'm so worried that i have ALS/MS. How worried should I be? I don't have ALS in my family history.
Avatar n tn I am really stressing about the tightness on the front of my neck. It feels as though something is wrapping around my throat. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? My thyroid was found not to be cancerous when I had the biopsy. I had it removed due to a goiter. If the tightness in my neck is due to my throid growing back, how long do I have to deal with this it? I am having blood work done in a few weeks so my endo can lower my dosage. Should I have an ultrasound done as well?
586382 tn?1219604628 I had a TT on 8/6 and am still experiencing lots of tightness all over my neck, not just around the surgery scar. I've also accidentally pulled some muscles in my neck and I know that doesn't help. My surgeon tells me that lots of blood is going to my neck right now to try to heal the muscles that were cut during surgery and to heal the wound itself. Someone else told me that tissue is being created in that area which will also cause feelings of tightness and/or pressure.
697772 tn?1228060328 Two weeks after my sexual encouter, a terrible pain on the right side of my neck developed. My sore throat got worse one week after that neck pain. I also had this mild fever (37.3 C), nasal congestion, watery eyes and sneezing. All of my symptoms gradually disappeared in a few days, all except the nasal congestion and the neck pain. Five days later I was with a sore throat again and also productive cough, mild fever (37.3), nasal congestion and this neck pain that never disappeared.

Avatar n tn I have muscles on the right side of neck are stronger then left, I also have muscles deep in the neck that make my neck feel tight which makes it feel weak, can anyone explain this, and what can I do to treat it?
319399 tn?1254531681 Lactic acid is the major waste product of muscles. With the increased density of the muscle and the blood flow going out being slowed down, this allows the lactic acid to accumulate in the muscle. The longer the muscle has been tight, the more lactic acid that accumulates in the muscle. No amount of drinking liquids can flush out the majority of this trapped/accumulated lactic acid caused by muscles staying tight 24/7.
Avatar f tn I have always been an anxiety ridden person, but here recently I have been clenching my teeth a lot more and I think it is causing the back of my tounge and the front parts of my throat to be sore but not like a sick sore really like a muscle strain sore. I carry a lot of anxiety in my neck and shoulders and I do find myself clenching my jaw quite a bit anymore, but I am now thinking that my tounge and throat muscles are now tensing up.
324913 tn?1302869517 I hope to look over your whole post soon and comment on it, but for right now I will tell you that Yes, the steroids can make your muscles feel weak and sore. This is because one of the immediate effects of steroids is a shift in the electrolytes the blood. As the sodium and potassium shift into and out of the cells you can feel weakness or cramping of the muscles. I always do. I also get sore all over in the first days of a steroid infusion.
Avatar m tn I helped her when she awoke with some breathing excercises, laying on her back and stretching the neck muscles out. This lasted about 45 minutes. When I got to the base of her skull (I picked up her neck and messaged the base) it appeared to be mushy with excess fluid to me. I checked my neck, and felt pretty sure that she had an extra 'something' there.
Avatar f tn Dear Wendy, welcome to medhelp forum. Burning pain in the back of the neck could be due to multiple causes. Soft tissue injury of ligaments, muscle and tendons from neck trauma or sudden jerky neck movements could be the culprit or repetitive neck strain over time could cause these. You can try applying ice packs, degenerative disc disease of the cervical spine could cause similar symptoms. The neurologist would ask for an MRI spine and decide the plan of management.
