Common Questions and Answers about Sore muscles dehydration

Avatar n tn I can do anything once but if I do something as simple as hold a phone up to my ear for longer than five minutes my bicep gets weak and sore. It is a repetitive problem. I have been healthy all of my life and very active until about six months ago when this started. The problem comes and goes with varying degrees of fatigue, sometimes only the muscles used and sometimes my whole body gets fatigued. What possible problems can cause this?
Avatar f tn I just feel as though my whole body is sore. My arms hurt at moving, to the point that when I move my left arm i just feel like crying and my leg muscles are very tight, I find walking difficult at times and stressing my legs in another way is just not option. Is this normal? Should I be worried? This is gonna be l long semester and I wanna complete it successfully.

1207048 tn?1282177904 I have not had a doctor confirm I might have spastic muscles, but I have had issues with both behind my right knee and my right shoulder and neck. Right now it is my shoulder & neck. This is the 3rd or 4th time in the last year that I've had this. Basically, it starts off as a sore neck, almost like I slept weird. Over a period of time, usually days, it will get increasingly tight feeling and more uncomfortable. Then it will gradually start to ease. This time started on Saturday.
Avatar f tn I have had early in the mornings sore neck muscles, palpitation, tremor and sweating. I have no sweating during daytime. I don't know whether these are due to overmedication (Thyroid Erfa) or undermedication. I am hypercalcemic. The neck muscles are also weak and stiff when I have those other symptoms. Ihave also a slightly enlarged lymph nodule(?) in the neck. The parathyroids were not seen in MRI scannin for parathyroids. I have a lung tumour (not specified what it is).
Avatar f tn She was born as a healthy child and on 2months she was to be hospitalized for severe stomach infection and dehydration. After that she became lactose and sucrose intolerant and had severe diarrhea and gastroenteritis infections every 10 days and that would last for a week. All this settled down when she turned 15months old. She started digesting normal food. Then one fine day when she was nearly 20 months old I took her to a family get-together and she started complaining of pain in her knee.

Avatar n tn Muscle spasms are certainly a side symptom of OA and RA for a variety of reasons. A nutritional imbalance could be the culprit, or dehydration. Also, when your neck hurts, for example, your muscles unconsciously tense up to "protect" the sore area. The constant stress causes the muscles to become tired, sore and actually inflamed. Cramping, spasms and nerve compression can result.
Avatar f tn If the cramps linger after exercise, apply heat if the muscles are tight and cold if your muscles are sore or tender. Start drinking water the day before vigorous exercise. Drink 1 to 3 cups right before you exercise, and stay hydrated during exercise by taking small sips of water. Avoid fully hydrating until you are finished exercising. Eat a diet that contains fruits and vegetables high in mineral content, and take a multivitamin to ensure proper electrolyte supply.
Avatar f tn My husband is experiencing debilitating leg cramps, usually at night and usually on the right side. He gets sore muscles in his right arm at the same time. I know he needs to see a doctor but we have no insurance. Can you suggest anything he might do to alleviate the pain? It's so bad he actually throws up from the pain. 11294269 tn?1422406507 First of all, you should figure out why is your head hurting. Is it because of dehydration, sore neck/back muscles, stress, food....? Tylenol is ok but it just gives a temporary relief. Know the cause and you'll get rid of the headache for longer.

721523 tn?1331585402 Hi all, I was up all night with horrid leg pain. The muscles in my right foot and then my right calf started the fun. The worst was by far my left shin muscle. I have verry muscular legs due to the way that I walk. I have never had any MS problems with my legs. I was in teh French Quarter in NO last night. I did some walking with my family. I did not do more or faster than normal. Any ideas what would cause this? It was almost solid pain for 4 hours.
Avatar f tn sore feet in the morning after putting your foot to the floor, in the evening after a long day or anytime.
Avatar f tn Two days of vomiting and violent liquid bowel movements. Slight dehydration, no fever, two days spent close to the toilet. I still feel weak, and have medium shooting pains in my lower right side... Between my ribs and hip, right side above my hip bone and below my ribs. The pain is almost exactly on the side of my body where your right elbow would hang if your arm was at your side. side. The pain comes and goes but is tolerable-ish.
Avatar m tn As someone responded here it may be a problem with dehydration so I would suggest to drink plenty of fluids. On a side note try to increase your stretching activities since sometimes if a muscle is tight and sore it may cramped up. In other words and in a very simple way: if the muscle is really tight the nerves crossing those muscles tend to still have to go through the muscle and sometimes feels like a needle. It can be a build up of lactic acid.
Avatar f tn i get the worse charlie horses at night to the point were my calf muscles is so sore i can barely walk :-( and on top of tht i have pretty bad intergestion and gas for the past few days any advice?

Avatar n tn Once the flex loosened up and ended, the muscle was extremely sore, as though I had run 3 miles on that leg alone. It is still sore now, 3 hours later, to the touch and when walking. It was not a potassium cramp - I injest a minumum of 3 pints of milk every day. Why did this happen? Has this ever happened to anyone else? What could this be sign of? Please help.
Avatar f tn RA can definitely affect your eyes in a couple different ways. First, a condition called Sjogren's Syndrome often occurs along with RA. Sjogren's manifests as extremely dry eyes, mouth, sinuses, skin, etc. Muscle soreness/spasms may also be a part of it. Have you moved to a new region recently?
Avatar f tn And recently my neck muscles feel so tight and painful like someone is choking me. ive had the barrium swallow, turned out fine. Then went to an ENT, He did the scope saw a little irritation and thinks i might have GERD but i took different kinds like Nexium and Prilosec, but didnt seem to help so i quit taking them.Basically doctors have no clue what im talking about so i feel out of options and stuck.
Avatar f tn Woke up today (day 2) with a piercing headache and the muscles in my legs are sore like I ran a marathon, my abdominal muscles ache like I did a ton of sit ups, and a couple hours ago I noticed lower back soreness. I'm also only able to stay asleep about 2 hours at a time (but I know this will adjust/get better the longer I stay on the medication). Probably why I felt incredibly fatigued in the afternoon and ended up napping for 2 hours.

Avatar n tn That's been about 6 weeks ago and since then, I've been having various symptoms such as vertigo (which the doctors think was a side effect to anitryptaline that they subscribed to reduce anxiety), muscle burning, muscle twitching (fasiculations), and weak/sore legs. I have some days where I feel absolutely normal and then others where I get some of those symptoms. I've seen 2 neurologists and have had tons of bloodwork and an NCV/EMG.
Avatar n tn let them know you are ALREADY in pain), acupuncture, or a heat pack or a cold pack on the sore muscles... even a warm shower might help. now... you could always go to another doctor too to get a second opinion about if the bear spray could have had any negative effect on your system... just to be sure, if you think it might have.
Avatar n tn After the bout with the vomiting I went to bed and woke up the next day with the muscles in my ribs sore from heaving. Then the following day (24 hours post vomiting) I had this sensation of a lump in my throat. There is no physical lump that can be palpated, but it feels as if something is stuck there. Its incredibly uncomfortable, but I've noticed that it fluctuates in severity of discomfort (although it hasn't gone away completely at any time).
