Sore jaw sinus infection

Common Questions and Answers about Sore jaw sinus infection

Avatar f tn My jaw bacame sore in the beginning I thought I was having a bad toothache and had my dr call in an antibiotic but it didn't help. I guess its because our joints are loosening up and that causes the pain. Even in our jaws. Mine didn't last long maybe a week in a half.
Avatar f tn Could this sinus infection ive had for about two weeks be affecting my jaw because it is really painful. I know my jaw is slightly unaligned because I need braces and my wisdom tooth out and I get that. Im just wondering why its hurting this bad with this virus I have. I cant chew foods or open my mouth slightly, its not extreme pain but its bareable, I feel it.
Avatar n tn Since October, I have had inner ear pain, neck and jaw pain, and sometimes shoulders and facial pain as well. I also get headaches and sore spots on my head at times.
Avatar m tn Hi, yes, viral infection will eventually clear on its own. Sinus infection can be asociated with sore throat. 4 Weeks is long time, get the throat swab for culture. Do regular warm salt water gargling. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn You can safely take Sudafed during pregnancy. Ive had a sore throat, cough and sinus crap for 2 days now. Take a warm shower and breath in the steam, or a nettie pot works wonders too. Feel better ladies!
Avatar f tn Hi, combination of your ear pain and the jaw pain could be due to sinus congestion. There are many cases where individuals that suffering from sinus congestion also experience pressure in the ear, with earaches and even jaw pain. The earaches you are having may be an infection in the ear due to blocked sinuses. Other causes of aw pain can be due to infection of salivary gland like parotitis, infected foci, osteoporosis related jaw disarticulation or fracture.
Avatar m tn Sounds like an ENT visit is in order. My unprofessional guess? Its a sinus infection on the left side of your head. I've had sinus troubles my whole life and the sore throat I get with a sinus infection is different than other sore throats, even when I had my tonsils. Everything is super connected up there so a sinus infection can make your ears hurt, your jaw, your eyes, your throat, everything!
393685 tn?1425812522 A while back I had a sinus infection that drained into my jaw and lymph nodes in my neck that hurt sooooo bad I was crying in agony. Could stand to even move my head or talk. I put really hot compresses on the areas to help them drain and take the soreness out. I used towels I had put in the microwave to wrap around my neck and against my face. The prednisone may have been masking this, but now it's out of your system so the pain is there. Hope the drs come up with something soon.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had a sinus infection while pregnant? If so, were you able to take anything? Im 11 weeks pregnant and beginning to feel miserable.
Avatar n tn Stiffness of the cheek area could be due to dryness of skin, skin conditions like dermatitis or eczema or due to underlying maxillary sinus infection. Maxillary sinusitis can be diagnosed by clinical examination and X-ray of the sinus. It could also be due to tooth or gum problems and abscess of the upper jaw. Alternatively it could be the stat of generalized stiffness as seen in some myopathies and viral infections. Do you have any signs of Bell’s Palsy?
Avatar n tn The antibiotic corrected the sore throat and nasal pressure, so I assumed it is a sinus infection. My test results for strains of step came in negative and the doctor recommended I cease taking my antibiotic (5 days in out of 10) so I did. It has now come back and I expect it to stay if untreated (as the past two months have shown). Some details - It does transmit to my girlfriend when she visits, it gives her a sore throat and cough.
1118884 tn?1338592850 Actual pain in the face or Jaw isn't normally a sign of anxiety. Although you say you wake with this pain in your jaw, is there a chance that while your asleep you are clenching your teeth together? as this would sure make your jaw muscles sore. But it wouldn't cause swollen glands. Maybe you have an infection of somekind that is causing all ur symptoms.....???
Avatar f tn Other possibilities are infection of the TMJ (temperomandibular joint), temporal arteritis, Eagle’s syndrome (stylohyoid syndrome), parotid gland disorders etc. Sinus infection can be source for infection around jaw. For infection, you need to take empirical antibiotic and NSAIDs course against prescription. I suggest you to consult ENT surgeon. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn It started as sinus headaches 2 months ago, then it turned into pressure all over my face and an earache with jaw pain. That was 3 weeks ago. Now it is jaw pain, dizziness, and sinus pressure. My ENT had a CT done and said my sinuses are basically clear but I have 2 small polyps in a cavity and teeth growing in y nasal cavity?...Apparently this is normal? But now I am severely depressed and anxious too. He seems to think all of this stemed from stress so he gave me valium.
730826 tn?1317943334 Your teeth, is it the upper ones that are sore? If so, then you might have a sinus infection. Your sinuses are normally air filled cavities in your skull (to make it lighter) and there is a large one above your upper jaw. Sometimes if you have long teeth roots they protrude into the sinuses so that when you have an infection they ache. Do you get any relief or alternatively pain, when you press on your cheek bones? The symptoms may just be related to the virus that you have.
Avatar n tn I have a similar problem which is caused by a sinus infection in my maxillary sinus -- It is caused by an infection from a root canal -- it caused a communication from my mouth into my sinuses -- causing the infection. You need to take care of the tooth (filling/extraction/root canal) & then treat the sinus infection (anti-biotics) -- You should see a dentist about the tooth with the deep cavity to make sure you do not have an abcess.
Avatar n tn Third possibility can be sinusitis due to possible oro-antral fistula after extraction leading to sinus infection. This may lead to dull pain over the cheek area but inability to close eye and tongue involvement may not be explainable with this condition. You may consult an oral surgeon/physician/ neurologist to rule out above stated possibilities who may be able to help you in this regard. Take care.
Avatar n tn Can someone have a sinus infection but not have the soreness around the face? I get headaches (pressure) every so often around the left side of my head...every so often runny nose. I also notice that my left side of my neck, behind the ear, bottom base of the skull and down my neck hurts. soreness. When I move my neck to the right side, it's sore....can this also be a sign of a sinus infection? I'm tired of feeling this way.
Avatar f tn In January, I got a bad cold, sore throat, bad sinus congestion, the worKS which ultimately lead to a sinus infection . At that same time I noticed a swollen ( what I believe to be ) lymph node in my upper neck. From looking at diagrams I see it is most likely the Tonsillar node. It was a definitly large, not really that sore unless ypu poke it very hrd.

Avatar n tn I'm at a loss & need some guidance.I've had recurring sinus infections off over the past year & have been treated w/antibiotics regularly (most recently was a month ago or less). Also have quite a few cavities. Recently I experienced some pain in my upper jaw/face/ear & head & couldn't tell if it was tooth related as it was also in a sinus region (near left side of nose)& my nasal/ear passages have been swollen lately as well.
Avatar f tn I had a severe sinus infection on one side of my face, which was fixed in sinus surgery. However, I also had severe swellin on the right side of my face which was still evident after the sinus surgery. As follow up work, I asked the doctor to look at any gland damage that may be a result of my previous jaw surgery, which may be causing the additional swelling in my cheek.
Avatar m tn It might be something neurological, but it might even be related to a sinus infection. If you have weakness, you might require an MRI for further evaluation. I would recommend you consult your physician. You might need an evaluation by an ENT as well.
Avatar m tn The minute I left his place, I felt sick. Since then, my neck nodes have been either sore or tender, with my throat being irritated. This pain radiates up and down the sides of my face. I first thought it might be sinus drainage, but the pain is still with me (Today is Dec. 10). Recently (last few days) I have had pain in my jaw muscles, but throat pain had subsided. No fever (slightly elevated), rash, or diarrhea ever within the past two weeks.
Avatar n tn i think i have got sinus problems how can you tell when you got sinus? thanks for you replied.
533880 tn?1237612452 I wanted to ask a question..I am pretty sure that I have a sinus infection but I have never felt like this before....It all stared with a headache and a fever. My headache is not is the front of my head but along the back, closer to the neck, where I am having pain as well. My jaw hurts, i am sensitive to light and sound. It hurts even if I talk or yell. My ears hurt like nothing I have felt before. But my problem is...I have no pain on my forehead or pain..weird.
Avatar f tn In the morning when i get up sysmptoms n soreness is not there and then comes during the day.... i went to the ENT specialist he said i dont hAve sore throat i have sinus problem . He gave me some antibiotics, nasal spray, sinus medicine . Today is my last day on antibiotics i dont have sore throat like i did but lymph soreness is still there which triggers sore throat.
