Avatar f tn I'm so confused reading everything about dates and periods that I am now so lost to find out when I conceived.. I found out at what was suppose to be my Pap smear/birth control visit that I was pregnant!! I'm shocked and over whelmed as I'm 37+, take my bc pills regularly, take all necessary precautions to avoid this happening.
148588 tn?1465778809 t really know a lot but I am aware that man made products like the solar panels and petroleum based products are a problem. I do not yet know the answer to that but I imagine it is the lesser of evils. Less toxic to the environment than say fracking and tar sands. Nevertheless it is a good point and hopefully it is a concern that is being addressed. About the "pork" if that is the case, I agree with you but it seems like Washington runs by a different game.
Avatar f tn As of this year I have been in the sun and have experience nothing. I was wonder if I spent some time in a tanning bed would I break out in the red bumps like the sun exposure? Not that I am interested in tanning I am just curious if it would have the same effect as the sun on my skin? thanks!
148588 tn?1465778809 The study, which examined five locales nationwide including Westchester, found that as solar panels and solar panel and battery systems — which can cost in the low- to mid-five figures but are currently heavily subsidized by governments at the state and federal levels — become cheaper, the economic incentive to adopt will grow. Prices, the study found, will hold steady around 20 cents per kilowatt hour, with grid-only prices to jump to 40 cents by 2040.
163305 tn?1333668571 And I meant that in the nicest possible way;-) It's supposed to be gorgeous here in Houston. Teko... you should come here and watch it with me. I'll even make up my spare room for you to stay in and I'll put you up for the night. We can drive down to Galveston and sit on the beach and watch it together, all the while, arguing politics and at each other's throats. Doesn't that sound like fun?!?
163305 tn?1333668571 Scientists say the sun has been relatively quiet for some time. And this storm, while strong, may seem fiercer because Earth has been lulled by several years of weak solar activity. "This is a good-size event, but not the extreme type," said Bill Murtagh, program coordinator for the space weather center. The solar storm is likely to last through Friday morning, but the region that erupted can still send more blasts our way, Kunches said.
Avatar f tn Mrsgreeneyes27,solar panels are a really great investment. When my hubby and I get our next house we want solar panels. Right now we have a townhouse so we can't get them but with all my Hubby's computer stuff running the house gets warm.
179856 tn?1333547362 Timing is everything. And for the Solar Dynamics Observatory, launched into orbit this past February, the timing couldn't have been better. The SDO helps scientists study solar storms, and for a long couple of years prior to the launch, those storms were few and far between. Our nearby star was in a deep sleep, largely devoid of the sunspots, flares and prominences that indicate heightened magnetic activity.
148588 tn?1465778809 s the case, it provides an opportunity for crowdsourced solar projects (using services like Mosaic and Divvy) and community solar projects to drive the initiative of shared solar energy. 9.
148588 tn?1465778809 Driven by the availability of cheaper and more efficient energy storage and inexpensive solar power, electric vehicles will begin to attain cost parity with cars driven by internal combustion engines. According to UBS, in a market with high road fuel prices, such as Germany, the total cost of ownership of an electric vehicle such as the Tesla S is already comparable with a gasoline-powered car, such as the Audi A7.
148588 tn?1465778809 Bob speaks with Rocky Rawlins of the Survivor Library about his preparations for getting zapped back to a time before computers and an electric grid. " http://www.onthemedia.org/story/survivor-library/? The Survivor Library is a compilation of the tech advances we gained from the early 1800s to the early 1900s. One of the observations Mr.
206807 tn?1331936184 The Headline is decieving. Bush and Obama has to share the Blame on this one. Does anyone follow up on these companies or do we just give them a half a Billion dollars and a Pat on the Back? WASHINGTON (AP) - A California solar-panel manufacturer once touted by President Barack Obama as a beneficiary of his administration's economic policies - as well as a half-billion-dollar federal loan - is laying off 1,100 workers and filing for bankruptcy. Avatar m tn Hello Dr, I got solar retinopathy and my symptoms now are: 1. Light sensitivity especially from sun. 2. Positive after images from strong lights only. 3. Negative after images. My questions is there any chance some of these symptoms to go away with the time?
Avatar m tn I have seen three different opthamologists and a retinal specialist - all have said my eyes are perfectly healthy and show no signs of solar or diabetic retinopathy. OCT has been done 4 times along with fundus photography and there are no visible signs of any damage. The pain, blurred vision, sensitivity to light and dim vision have not improved. Is it possible to have solar retinopathy and have all these tests come back "normal"?
Avatar n tn At this point, my doctor suspects that I might have a solar allergy and he and prescribed me Plaquenil (200mg BID). I've been taking it for 5 days now and so far there have been no results. I agree that a solar allergy seems possible, but I have a few questions about this: 1) How long should I take this medicine before I might expect to see some results? 2) If I don't respond to this Plaquenil, does that mean this is not a solar allergy?
Avatar m tn Okay. Read about the Amsler Grid test and print out a grid if you don't have one and test daily. Most cases of mile solar maculopathy get better with time. If its getting worse a re-examination is in order.
148588 tn?1465778809 I sometimes wonder if people even grasp how many products we use today are oil based. Look it up and then tell me we can just drop it. Sure, people lived for centuries without it, but in todays world? I can tell you I'm not too keen on the idea of taking my son to school, then heading off to work in -30 with snow up to our waist on a horse or bike. Then working a full day, coming home and getting the fires going - course I don't have a fireplace, so this might be a challenge anyway.
Avatar f tn Hello, These spots can be due to solar lentigo or due to melasma. Treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn I just started tanning and after about the third time i've noticed these little brownish/redish spots on my chest and now some on my arms. if anyone knows what this could be let me know.
Avatar f tn It certainly does look like a severe reaction to something. However, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, along with several other breeds, can also be affected by something called Nasal Solar Dermatitis. It very much resembles what your dog has and is caused by an autoimmune problem that is most likely genetic. It's an autoimmune disease related to lupus.
Avatar n tn in fact if I feel my heart skip, low and behold there is a lil nodule by my solar plexus that I push back and then I breathe and feel perfect. Please all of you check for Hiatal Hernia and then see if this is perhaps what going down with you.. This discussion is related to H Pylori and irregular heart beat.
Avatar f tn About three days ago I went for a swim, while swimming on my back my mind drifted away and I ended up staring at the sun for about three minutes, might be longer I'm not sure. Now I have a blind spot at the center of my vision, whatever I try to focus my sight on, I see a yellow/white circle instead, sometimes it;s flickering sometimes not. I'm 20 years old, healthy as a horse, I have no eye problems, and I have never NEVER had a headache in my life. Is this permanent ?
Avatar f tn My exposed skin turns red, my lips are swollen with allergy and its itchy everywhere. I underwent an allergy test and the dermatologist told that my body has atypical response to common allergens like dust mites and pollen. I am still not satisfied , as i think its mainly due to sun. But what is it? I apply aquaphor to heal the redness and itching. Is there any way i can avoid this? Do i have sun allergy? I have tried sunscreens as well but nothing works?
Avatar m tn Sorry for the highly unusual question, my grandson (16 years old) recently had a episode of staring at the sun and it hasn't healed for some time and is a permanent blind area in central spot. I just want to know if there's a cause for concern with life expectancy and or death - or is this purely just a eye spot that will be there forever; I'm not to good with the internet and just want him to be okay and not at risk as he's so young and needs a full life... thank you.
