5148952 tn?1364321766 You are correct that the Abilfy will not help with your social anxiety. And while I do not mean to imply that your social worker has not helped you, very few, if any, social workers are trained psychologists who can help you with this problem. It may be worth considering professional therapy to beat this phobia once and for all.

Avatar n tn 1. A person approaches me and starts talking 2. I think "Uh oh, I'm locked into a conversation. I hope I'm not sweating." 3. I start feeling a little flushed in the face. 4. I think "I'm sweating!" and of course I start sweating more. So, the more I worry about sweating in front of people, the more I sweat. It's kind of amazing how it works on cue. Avatar f tn What yes, is that in my past a few years before my PTM yes, it was a strange thought but it had to do with something like social phobia. More or less, my hypothesis goes that way.
739988 tn?1386672969 I am interested to know about anxiety, phobia, fears...does lamictal help here? people differ in opinion about it. Yesterday i thought of quitting work because they asked me to sit and explain my work to others. Somehow i had some fears or call it social phobia this i suppose has to do with my old experience in college an old knot in my personality. When exposed to an exam i panic. it happens on and off. Perhaps these obcessions led my old pdoc assume i was originally OCD and perhaps not.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone that has social phobia or social anxiety have ever tried hypnotherapy for a cure. I was just wondering, because I have a really bad case of social phobia due to my asperger's syndrome. I'm currently trying to get over it on my own, but it is really hard. If anyone has tried this for a cure, please let me know how it worked. Thanks!
