Avatar f tn Geodon was approved as an antipsychotic for its primary use all over the world. Geodon has some concerns such as heart arrythmia though and its the only antipsychotic with this problem (out of the ones approved in the U.S. at least). Generally out of all of the antipsychotics Abilify is the least likely to cause weight gain and diabetes and sedation. Geodon was used more for a while because of this but Abilify is generally used more now. Did you ask about that one?
Avatar m tn I am a 23 year old male living in the UK. I have a track record of general anxiety, specifically HIV. Whilst at university I lost my virginity to a girl, and within a few days had begun to feel ill with cold symptoms. I scanned the internet and came to the conclusion that I was sereconverting...before I knew it, I was feeling dizzy, couldn't concentrate, starting feeling burning sensations all over my body...
Avatar m tn I still have insomnia issues for some reason, but I don't trip out at night, I'm merely awake. It's like my anxiety never happened for the most part and I'm able to move past all the moments anxiety would've crippled me and into the life I've desired all along but been too scared to manifest. What we desire the most, we fear the most could be an anxiety persons tag line.
758077 tn?1282599161 I would have thought the anxiety would have gone by now. I know sleep will help, but I need to get rid of the anxiety first.
5154342 tn?1370274567 A lot of posts covering numerous related topics of discussion started piling onto that thread, so I thought I would start a new thread here, with the intent of letting folks post their treatment status if desired, so others in the same leaky boat might be able to get a feel for how they were doing with regard to all of us as a class.
748543 tn?1463449675 For the past few weeks I have been throwing around ideas as to the best way to respond to this matter. You see a recent article ( Feb.3 , 2009 NY times) titled "Best treatment for TMJ May be Nothing" nearly made me clench my jaw to pieces. While well written, I found that the author, Ms. Brody, relied heavily on out dated and narrow perspective supplied to her by a small group of dentists.
Avatar n tn After the first 2 he decided I had borderline personality disorder, but didn't tell me that until I read my notes and asked him. Before that he would only say that I had no social skills, was taciturn and'screwed up'. I stopped seeing him after we agreed we didn't get on at all. I've been having CBT for 15 months but have got nowhere really. My psychologist thinks i have PTSD and major depression but the psychiatrist still disagrees.
Avatar f tn It's time to address the anxiety. Our anxiety feeds off our fears and worries, and when we sit in anticipation of another attack, we will get one. You're absolutely correct, it's a vicious cycle. Try to distract yourself before and after eating both physically and mentally and see if that helps. If not, therapy would be very beneficial in teaching you how not to dwell on this and think differently.
Avatar n tn im a 20 year old male, healthy, fit, no social anxiety.
Avatar n tn Well Chlonapin is a benzo which is a mild sedative which in itself should help with the racing heart. I was on that drug for 10 yrs and off all meds for about 8 yrs. Just last summer I experienced panic attacks very frequently and it had been so long I obtained Xanax .5mg to take as needed. Its in the same family as Clonapin. I too felt like you once and it will get better. The begining stages and acceptance, understanding & treatment take some time. But you can live a full life.
Avatar m tn With cirrhosis, you need a Hepatologist to manage your liver care, treatment, and any complications. If you are able to do treatment, then it would be best to treat soon. Time is not on your side. The worse your cirrhosis gets, the harder it will be to treat. I see you are located in TN. It looks like you are about 100 miles from Nashville. Here is a link to Vanderbilt Med. Center in Nashville: http://www.vanderbilthealth.
Avatar m tn i agree about the sex stuff it does relieve my anxiety, i know it upsets her sometimes deepdown, she has some social anxiety but i try my best for her we have been out over a year now. well i know what doctor im seeing but one or two dont understand much about mental health. yeah i understand bout christmas.
Avatar n tn This spring and last (at the same exact time, when oak pollen was strong) I got the constant burping and anxiety. For me, taking some Tussin product helped somewhat. Anxiety and allergies seem to go hand-in-hand for me and can produce some weird symptoms. Sometimes it helps just to know that's all it is. Hang in there!
Avatar m tn it's possible that smoking only seems to cause anxiety in some people because they're anxious over the cost / social stigma / their health and other factors at risk due to lighting up. Another problem is that a lot of people smoke to "treat" anxiety, so naturally there are more anxious people among the smoking population. Nevertheless smoking is a stimulant and it is possible.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone has been on birth control pills and have suffered from anxiety or depression issues? I have been on the pill for 11yrs now and cant take how I am feeling anymore. I went on the pill for irregular periods, but since then I have been feeling blah, libido has decreased severely, I have sinus problems- I found out I have no allergies- so I think it is related to axiety, I worry constantly about everything; I get so nervous I get light headed sometimes.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been diagnosed with anxiety and I am currently taking 10mg Lexapro which doe not seem to be helping. I have really bad physical symptoms and I think there is something else medically wrong with me, even though the various health test that I've had all came up negative. My question is, does anyone of you suffering from anxiety feel constantly tired all of the time, feel like you are out of your body, like on drugs or living in a constant dream? I guess it's called depersonalization?
Avatar m tn I've read that smoking raises blood pressure and therefore exacerbates anxiety/stress, so it's a no-brainer that the social-smoking needs to stop. I also read that it's a good idea to cut out caffeine (no more Diet Mt. Dew *cry *throwfit *repeat). So if you are reading this looking for how to stop anxiety and panic attacks after a night of drinking, the simple answer is to STOP drinking.
Avatar m tn Hi I have had panic attacks/anxiety for about 6 months now and in the past month they have gotten extremely worse. When i read your thing it felt like i was reading something i wrote.. i too am 20 yrs old and i weigh about 105. I lost weight due to the anxiety. I have been in and out of the doctor now for a month and like you , everything is normal. My symptoms feel like something is seriously wrong though and i also thought i had cancer, diabetes and everything else in the world!
173930 tn?1196341998 Survey seems consistent with what I've seen posted here. Most telling to me is that 40% reported feeling worse after treating than before: 29% reported feeling about the same; and 31% reported feeling better after treatment. What that means is that around 2 out of 3 people felt either worse or no different after treating. This should be a reality check for those who treat primarily because of the so-called extra-hepatatic symptons, i.e. to feel better.
Avatar m tn Hello there, You must know there are tons of treatment for anxiety. First hand treatment should be consultations with a qualified therapist. Before trying any other beta-blockers maybe you should try more natural solution like physical activity and healthy diet as well as natural supplements proven to be efficient for anxiety like the ones i will propose you. -Gamma-aminobutyric Acid (GABA) -Valerian -Passionflower -Kava -Seredyn And for any insomnia problem i would suggest melatonin.
1130110 tn?1325837820 Well for months now ive been thinking and WANTING desperately to enter treatment and drug rehab, which basically detoxes u, and then teaches u coping mechanisms, relapse prevention, and aims to teach u how to live drug free. I went 4years ago for 5 weeks, i wasnt ready, i was forced into it, and it wasnt for long enough. I learnt a lot about myself in that short time, but ultimatley the party wasnt over for me and i wasnt ready to quit using.
799621 tn?1237583685 My mum is going through alot too - I dont want to put this on her aswell. She's undergoing treatment for cervical cancer. I assumed everything in the UK was an NHS matter, i certainly dont have the means to pay for any kind of help. How do I approach this kind of thing with a teacher? Self diagnosed "depression" is no rare thing in high school - not labelling every claim as attention seeking but I know it's thrown about much more than it really needs to be.
7729616 tn?1393799092 It sounds like you're developing some social anxiety or agoraphobia as a result of poorly treated anxiety. The anxiety is likely secondary to your thyroid condition. The thyroid is basically the spedometer of your body (including the FIGHT or FLIGHT button that is usually responsible for panic attacks. Some people look down on benzodiazepines or anti-anxiety treatment but if you're anxiety has a chemical basis, I say talk to your doctor about aggressive treatment.
Avatar f tn I have NO trust in our health system in the UK. I never want to accept help from social services ever again.
525545 tn?1293184794 By the way hubby's test yesterday went well, he has an esophageal spasms, He needs to go to our Dr. for a follow and see if there is any treatment for it. He realized that he said things were not true. He came home from work yesterday and when he saw me went into sobbing. I said why are you crying? He was truly afraid I would of committed suicide. And he had reason to worry. I kept thinking about my life. And alot of negative things out weighed the positive.

748543 tn?1463449675 “What makes us choose to dedicate so much of our practice to the treatment of TMD?” In my mind my initial response was “duhh” it’s only the foundation of all we do in the mouth! This question struck me strange at first, but after some reflection I realized that it is at the very root of our problems in this profession. Thankfully better judgment stopped me from replying impulsively and I decided to write a more intelligent summary of facts that may answer the question better.
936016 tn?1332769204 Many STD’s/ STI’s are easily treatable using modern antibiotic therapies. Ease of treatment however may miss the point. We know that gonorrhoea and also Chlamydia will increase the amount of HIV virus which is shed from both the cervix and also in semen of HIV infected men and women. Equally, concurrent infection with herpes 2 virus in the genital tract of either of the individuals will make HIV acquisition much more likely for a previously HIV negative partner.
