Snorting suboxone vs sublingual

Common Questions and Answers about Snorting suboxone vs sublingual

suboxone

Avatar f tn Hey Bama, If they are snorting, it is likely Buprenorphine (Subutex) which is meant for sublingual use but can be snorted or injected. Suboxone is not absorbed well into the body via any method other than sublingual. Suboxne is Subutex with Naloxone added. Naloxone is a drug that precipitates withdrawl. If you are addicted to another opiate and you use Suboxone, you are subject to be in instant withdrawl instead of getting high. Regardless, it is evil stuff.
Avatar m tn I just found out that my boyfriend is taking Suboxone. I knew he had a problem w pain killers in the past, and noticed his sneaky trips to the bathroom. Come to find out he is sniffing suboxone. He says he has been on it for 3 years and that it helps him stay clean. I have NO IDEA about pills and what the effects they have on you when you are addicted to them or what is even appealing about it. All I know is that I love him and I want to be here for him.
281612 tn?1190341022 I have been sober from alcohol 6 years- I have noticed lately that my addictive behavior is creeping back up on me. For some ****** up reason I started snorting m,y suboxone- I have a husband of 10 years who got clean with me and three young children I live and breath for- Why are these behaviors creeping back up on me.
Avatar n tn To the Rest of the Bloggers Some of you obviously haven't been educated to the fact that Buprenophine is now being widly used as a MAINTAINENCE DRUG, taking the place of Methadone. Many people like myself were prescribed 24mg a day which is the ceiling for any additonal effects sublingually. I was on 24 mg for 9 months and after that 16mg for the past 2 1/2 years when I switched MD's.
9796015 tn?1405950120 Stopped snorting mine and switched to sucking on those disgusting strips my wife gets. That was the worst I felt, going from snorting to sublingual. At the height of feeling like doggie do I snorted one to feel better then went back to the strips for like 2 days, feeling fine. Then I just stopped. Now, I have the benefit of being out of work on workers comp from my fall off the roof, which, as I said was important because I could lay around and be lazy for as long as I needed.
Avatar n tn how will snorting suboxone effect someones health my boyfriend is doing it and says it cant hurt him..
Avatar n tn Use the Suboxone sublingual tablet. You would have a hard time finding pure buperenorphine anyway (sold under the brand Temgesic, and only in injectable form I think). Suboxone is designed specifically for the purpose of opioid withdrawal management and not as an analgesic pain killer as Temgesic is. Get her back into her Suboxone doctor ASAP. He will advise you as to how to proceed.
Avatar f tn Ask your doctor to refer you to a pain management specialist. They can perscribe either suboxone/naloxone OR subtex. Suboxone comes in sublingual strips that don't taste as bad and dissolve instantly under your tongue. You cannot take regular opiate pain medication however while taking either because this medication is specifically designed to help people withdrawal from heroin/ and synthetic heroin aka any opioid pain meds.
Avatar f tn why does suboxone have to be taken sublinually?does it still work if you just swallow it?
696149 tn?1314320959 Adverse Events in Clinical Trials - SUBOXONE sublingual film The safety of SUBOXONE sublingual film is supported by clinical trials using SUBUTEX (buprenorphine) sublingual tablets and SUBOXONE (buprenorphine and naloxone) sublingual tablets, and other trials using buprenorphine sublingual solutions, as well as an open-label study in 194 patients treated with SUBOXONE sublingual film.
1468549 tn?1286750787 So the difference between Suboxone and Subutex .Suboxone contains a second medication – naloxone – that is added to the formulation to keep people from abusing the medication. Coming from a person who uses the needle I can say from experience that it does NOT send you into WD's if shot up. It will however send you into WD's if you shoot up shortly after doing an opiate. I am by no means telling you to try shooting up just letting you know that it doesn't cause WD's when shot.
Avatar f tn I have to take Excedrin before I take my Suboxone in the morning because if I don't my headache will be unbearable at some point during the day. I always get a headache from them, no matter how much I take. Maybe you don't tolerate them well like me. My headache will start as soon as the Suboxone kicks in and most of the time it can be kept at a tolerable level with Excedrin throughout the day.
Avatar m tn Mr. Fly1234: First, I'd like to congratulate you on tapering down your Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) maintenance dose. From other patients' experiences, decreasing the dose and discontinuing buprenorphine are not easy tasks for many. Under federal law, DATA 2000 or Drug Addiction Treatment Act of 2000, only qualified physicians can prescribe and treat opioid addiction with controlled narcotics medications, such as buprenorphine products (Suboxone, Subutex or generic alternatives).
Avatar f tn of Suboxone relieves the obsession to use, and places addicition into remission. A person snorting small pieces of a Suboxone tablet is NOT at that ceiling level, and is not getting the benefit of Suboxone-- he might as well be snorting oxycodone. I recommend that he find an addiction doc who can treat him properly, and advocate for his job if necessary. It is a fool's errand to taper off one opioid after another, each time thinking that THIS time will be different.
Avatar n tn I have a son who is a what you call I guess as a functioning addict and he is using Heroine and Suboxone. Recently for the last several months has had a hacking sore throat. He is always clearing his throat or trying. I think he is snorting the stuff. Can anyone tell me what they know about this reaction?
Avatar m tn I have a friend who has been crushing oxycodone #15 mg and #30 mg pills and snorting them.... I suggested just puting them into a cup of coffee but she insists on doing them that way. Are there any health risks involved in snorting the pills? Note: they are small pills with no Tylanol in them....
1797743 tn?1389213685 I just finished listening to a podcast with Janie Bowthorpe and she discusses Dessicated thyroid hormone meds vs the typical stuff we've been prescribed. she menitoned a few of the sublingual versions and I was wondering if anyone has tried these and what your opinion is of them. The podcast was great and very imformative. Now I have a lot of questions for my doc.
Avatar f tn Somebody suggested a liquid B12 sublingual vitamin. I think I will try that. I just want all of the suboxone users on this board to know that it can be done! You can be free of suboxone! Hugs...
1800740 tn?1324237171 Hi! Are you drinking enough? Sometimes (along with a dose change) it's a simple matter of increasing fluid intake...give that a try and can you reach the doctor in the morning on Monday?
Avatar m tn My friend was put on Zubsolv which apparently is similar to Suboxone. Any information would be approximated. More so on does it work the same? Is the strength comparable?
Avatar f tn I took Buprenorphine sublingual tablets with Narcan (Suboxone I think?), at a dose that was comfortable for my current use. Unfortunately, I have NO CLUE how to measure the amount you, dear reader, would need to take. I had a moderate habit and started at 8mg per day and tapered down just a bit, ONLY as much as I could without feeling sick. Week 2: 24 hours approximately after the last dose of Bupe, I took my first dose of Methadone. At the time it was 40mil.
Avatar f tn i hae been in the suboxone program for about 8 months and i was in the program only a month before i started snorting my meds not to get high or to feel it faster but because i miss the drain of it and i went from doing it every day 4 or 5 times a day to doing it once every couple of days 1 time a day and i just found out that my doctor has started something new he will be calling me in within the next week to check my arms to see if i have been shoting it up but i have never ever done that and
Avatar m tn d as suboxone. And I know that Sub is a tough w.d. Especially at 8mg. You need to get down to less then 2mgs to make your w.d somewhat bearable. But that is MY opinion based on what I have gone through. Some say they don't have any w.d comin off of sub. So I guess it depends. Have your drs told you what to expect? Who is giving you the sub? I know they don't know you are snorting it.
Avatar f tn then i see that it is the injections vs the tablet that i need. So id like to know where i can get the shot an overall price range, how often do you get the injextions ect. and some of your personal sucees with the shots.
