Avatar n tn after i sneeze or laugh ,i get a a bright light in my vision and that is all i can see for about 30 to 40 seconds then my vision comes back and i get a headache
Avatar n tn What doen't help, however, is when I walk out of somewhere dark or shaded into somewhere bright, whereupon I break into a violent sneezing fit. These fits usually contain around 5-7 sneezes although my record is 9. This causes great helarity amongst my friends and often to passers by. It has happened as long as I can remember and although it's never been a huge problem I just would like to know why.
495284 tn?1333897642 its a combo of things, sneezing is triggered from the central nervous system, from allergies, drug withdrawl, bright light as well, your nervous system is in chaos during withdrawl so its a stimulus reaction, also the running nose irrates the membranes as well.
645800 tn?1466864555 It only happens during the first exposure to the bright light, 3) Physical stimulation of the trigeminal nerve can trigger a sneeze. (this might explain why most nights when I go to bed no sooner than my head ( left side) hits my pillow I will start to sneeze.) Dennis PS You can read more about this at medscape . com.. I found this by goggle of sneezing and MS.
7595610 tn?1397471372 This is just for my own curiosity, but are any of you sun (or bright light) sneezers? Apparently about 20% of the population are; I am. In any case, just curious.
Avatar n tn For the past one year, I am suffering from sensation of sneezing but sneeze does not comes out. This is very irritating. Looking at bright light was of no help. First, I have been to a homeopathic doctor. He gave me the medicine to suppress the sneezing sensation. My throat went sour and I have to discontinue the medicine. Then I went to another homeopathic doctor but the medicine was of no help. According to an ENT specialist this was no problem at all and advised me not to bother.

Avatar n tn Sneezing can further be triggered through sudden exposure to bright light, a particularly full stomach, or as a result of unexpected, climatic variations in one's environment such as rapid changes in temperature and humidity levels. Therefore, a sneeze may trigger the outflow of trapped mucous material in the nasal cavity as well as substances from the respiratory or pharyngeal areas. This may be responsible for the bad smell. Hope this answered your query.
Avatar n tn Hi, A sneeze (or sternutation) is a semi-autonomous, convulsive expulsion of air from the lungs, most commonly caused by foreign particles irritating the nasal mucosa. Sneezing can further be triggered through sudden exposure to bright light, a particularly full stomach, or as a result of unexpected, climatic variations in one's environment such as rapid changes in temperature and humidity levels.
Avatar n tn Sneezing can further be triggered through sudden exposure to bright light, a particularly full stomach, or as a result of unexpected, climatic variations in one's environment such as rapid changes in temperature and humidity levels. Therefore, there may be multiple causes of sneezing and you can investigate the cause of sneezing in your case. You mentioned the use of a laptop being associated with this, therefore you may find some hint at the location where your laptop is placed.

Avatar n tn I have had allergies and asthma all my life. When I have a sneezing/hay fever reaction, it's accompanied by the usual itching of palate and eyes, and my medications take care of it. But once or twice a month, I sneeze uncontrollably, hundreds of times, all day long, and nothing, not Allegra-D, not Claritin, not Benadryl, will stop it. And the weird thing is, this sneezing is NOT accompanied by the usual itching. When I have a "sneezing day," I am nonfunctional.
Avatar m tn Sometimes I feel as if I am allergic to the light, sneezing and having a runny nose when exposed to what I consider to be bright. Additionally, I have brown eyes, my eyes are not dry (as told to me at a recent eye exam, although I have begun to take eye drops as suggested to see if they help. So far, they do not.) Although I do get headaches, and they are sometimes on and off for the entire day for days at a time, I do not get migraines, nor are the headaches very severe.

Avatar m tn hello everyone Almost 5 days back I had flu and running nose. For this problem, I have taken medicine which I also use before sometime for the same problem. Each tablet contains 5mg Loratadine & 120mg Pseudoephedrine Sulfate. In past, it gives me good results but this time after taking this medicine my flu is batter but I can't sneeze. I have tried almost all methods like "Wiggle a tissue in the nose", "Look up toward a bright light", Sniff a spice etc but all waste.
Avatar m tn For the past several months, I've been seeing shapes in my vision similar to what you would see after staring at a bright light. However, I see these all the time, even without staring at a bright light source. I also don't seem to be blinking very often. maybe 1-3 times a minute. I had an eye screening with a ophthalmologist a couple of months ago who said my eyes look fine. Could this be some sort of neurological problem instead?
Avatar n tn I have had the bubble like kaleidoscope thing going on ONLY in bright light in my peripheral vision..I have seen a eye doctor and a neurologist had a MRI no one seems to know what is going on.. The Neurologist seems to think it some thing to do with Ocular Migraine. I have had this probably 6moths now... At least I know I have not had a stroke and no tumours...
Avatar n tn These posts are all a long way of saying....there is light at the end of the tunnel. My tunnel may seem shorter than others (because I only used Oxies for less than 2 months), but there were times I wondered if there was any light. There is! And oh boy.... is it bright!
Avatar n tn yesterday i began to see pink and then it became bright red blood. i have to wear a pantiliner but the bright red is very light. i have taken 3 hpts and 1 blood test, they all were negative. I've cramping for two days pretty much constantly. Is this possible the implantation process or maybe an early miscarriage.

Avatar n tn There are wide ranges of sneezing habits - everyone's a bit different. Bright light makes some people sneeze. About 4 out of 10, myself included, sneeze when plucking their eyebrows. Apparently this is all believed to be genetic. Anyway, the only function of a sneeze is to remove an irritant from your nasal passages, so if the AAhhh achieves that, the Choo may not be necessary. Maybe try to make yourself sneeze and train yourself to let it all out. Try inhaling a bit of pepper.
2085202 tn?1373203340 From time to time my eyes are also burning and draining. Sneeze alot. Bright green mucus when sneezing or blowing nose.Does this sound like allergies? Doctor said my eyes looked inflamed and put me on antibiotics said he thought it might be sinus infection but doesn't know for sure. Just took the last dose today. Does it take awhile for any results from antibiotics?
1415174 tn?1453246703 Co-incidentally as the spots arrived, I also felt like sneezing, and what I normally do when I get the urge to sneeze, is look into a bright light, this helps the sneeze come quickly. So I naturally glanced at the sun for about 3 or 4 seconds. This made me sneeze, but what it also did is made my spots go away. So here I am waiting for my migraine to come but it never came. I thought this was weird as I would always get a migraine after the spots.
Avatar m tn But those thoughts are now gone and now I am seeing such a bright, brilliant light ahead. It's truly beautiful. For all my brothers and sisters out there, keep fighting!!! Never give up! The goosebumps come, the bad thoughts come, but as everybody promises, they do pass. I will keep posting and let you know how I do. God bless you all, I love you all so much for being there for me at my weakest point.

3177763 tn?1344540646 It's back again today! Right side, sensitive to light, noise, sound, nauseous, ice-pick through the same place as yesterday and again, having to pick my son up from school with the sun nice and bright! Where are the clouds when you need them? Coughing just makes things worse! so does sneezing! I am having to change out my ice-packs so often they aren't having time to refreeze! I have a lot of them!

Avatar f tn It's funny the, irony is that bright light really affects you when you have a migraine, who would think that bright light is what causes a chemical reaction in your head to stop the migraine from happening. After doing this for about 1 year, my migraines completely disappeared, I never even got the spots. I am not a health professional, and this cure may seem ludicrous, as we all know that staring at the sun can cause damage to your eyes.
Avatar f tn I notice that I see this when my sinuses are inflamed along with pressure added by sneezing, or if I am taking a hot bath and then stand up, or if I go out into the bright sunshine. I do have sensitive eyes and bright light does bother me. When my sinuses are not inflamed then I do not see this spot no matter what the activity is that I am doing. I have been trying to treat my sinuses with nasal steroids. So far these have not helped.
