Sneeze when look at sun

Common Questions and Answers about Sneeze when look at sun

sneeze

Avatar m tn If I feel a sneeze coming on, I will either look at the sun or a bright light in a room. I rarely sneeze in a low light situation. My doctor thinks I am nuts, as does my opthamologist. However, my Mom did this (but not my Dad) and both of my daughters do it too. My Mom says that her Mom did it as well. It's very strong reflex and completely uncontrollable. Does anybody else have this or know what it is about? I've always called it "light sneezing.
7595610 tn?1397467772 Any time I walk into a bright light or sunlight, I will sneeze, often more than once. If I feel a sneeze coming on, I can look into a light bulb and sneeze almost 100% of the time. It's kind of nice, I never have sneezes that "die" leaving me hanging.
Avatar f tn Co-incidentally as the spots arrived, I also felt like sneezing, and what I normally do when I get the urge to sneeze, is look into a bright light, this helps the sneeze come quickly. So I naturally glanced at the sun for about 3 or 4 seconds. This made me sneeze, but what it also did is made my spots go away. So here I am waiting for my migraine to come but it never came. I thought this was weird as I would always get a migraine after the spots.
1415174 tn?1453243103 So for the next couple of months I realized if I stared at the sun by day, or at a bright light at night, just when the spots arrived, it would stop my migraine dead in its tracks. The important thing was to do this the minute I saw the spots/aura. If I was too late, the migraine would develop.

7282682 tn?1397237735 Nonights, thank you for giving me a good laugh this early in the morning! I think you are correct about that. Sneezing just means your body is doing what it's supposed to be doing...getting rid of the crap and healing. It's a good thing, although annoying at times. I've always been a 'sneezer'. I have debilitating allergies to just about anything you could think of, so it's year round.
Avatar f tn usually when the sun is going down... maybe the change in temperature? Whatever, it just happens.
Avatar f tn Sorry for the late reply. Sadly, I'm still feeling the same way. However, I did manage to sneeze a small number of times between now and my last post, and I've found that sometimes when I look at up at the light in my bedroom JUST as the sneeze begins, the sneeze completes. Hoping someone can shed some light on this issue.
6384874 tn?1385429806 Recently I have noticed that I see stars when I sneeze. Almost like little fireflies for a few seconds. Does this happen to any one else? I'm just curious. Thanks!

Avatar f tn m 13w1d nd have been fighting a killer cold but multiple times yesterday and today when I sneeze I see a little. I thought that was something that happens in the third trimester not this early...?
Avatar n tn I am at the end of day 9 and still sneeze every hour, yawn alot and feel pretty crappy. Unfortunatly I caught the flu from my kid on day 4 so I am compleatly miserable. Any idea how long before I can be free of sneezing and yawning? It will be a long week at work.
Avatar f tn I look at it as when ur pregnant ur new dr is ur OB so anything health related u go to ur OB because they know everything about ur pregnancy...plus unfortunately if all u have is a sneeze and cough they prob won't give u anything..
408496 tn?1269603350 Sometimes (maybe once a day or less) I get a sharp pain in my lower abdomen after I cough or sneeze. Is anyone else getting this? It almost feels like my ab muscle (in one location) is cramping when I cough or sneeze. I have been sick latley with a head cold or I probably wouldn't have noticed this at all. Just wondering if I am alone here .... I think it probably is because everything is moving around in there and my muscles are contracting - one just cramps when I sneeze and cough.
Avatar f tn But got the sneezes at the min and every time I sneeze I nearly wee . Anyone else have this problem ?
Avatar f tn I doubt its the actual sun but more the beach itself since it ONLY happens when im near or on the beach. This NEVER happens when im simply under the sun. Even when I swim or lay out on the beach the rash only develops on my lips and around the mouth. Almost instantly I can feel my lips as being raw. Is this something that can be handled with immunotherapy?? I've tried a dermatologist but by the time an appointment is made...the rash is gone and they're not able to help me.
Avatar f tn Since 2 hrs it pains in my lower abdomen when i sneeze. Uncomfortable pain which lasts for long time. Can this pain be due to sneezing or should i be worried. Plz advice.
Avatar f tn let every sneeze remind u that you are alive and sober. I didn't sneeze for 3 years one time. (methadone) If i had time i'd look "when" the sneezing stops but i'm kinda busy. i will say that you can take anti-histamines or allergy medication that might help. some will make u drowsy, some will make you hyper. all in all they are drugs so be careful. also, when i'm in a sneezing fit.
Avatar m tn Hi there & Welcome! Sneezing is one of the initial signs of acute withdrawal. (Yawning & watery eyes usually precede sneezing.) When you're on opiates they flood the body with histamines (that's why people scratch when they're high.) When they're withdrawn the body's natural histamine response is shut down & so you sneeze & tear a lot. It's completely normal to experience this in detox & the symptom diminishes over time.
