Avatar f tn Hi allegra_dl, I believe that Ms. Paderla is right. You might be suffering from allergic rhinitis and so as your mother and grandmother. This is a condition wherein sometimes people inherit the disease and may pass to other generations. This kind of allergy does not only concern weather changes but also other allergens like dust mites, pollens, etc.
Avatar m tn Oxygen deprivation kills brain cells. If nitrous oxide killed brain cells it would not be used in medicine. Refrain from depriving yourself from oxygen and you will be fine, regardless of any amount of nitrous, as it is a non toxic compound, barring the b12 depletion seen after years of abuse.
Avatar f tn Does epilepsy as you get older slowly get worse? As I know each seizure kills more brain cells?
Avatar m tn Also I bought an extra thick condom (those who are thicker than regular ones). Now here is my question. approximately one week ago I began to sneeze a lot, runny nose, etc. But nothing else. I started to worry a little bit and my doctor prescribed me a CBC and urinalysis. everything was okay except for a high level of eosinophiles being 0.6 x 10^3/uL. White blood cells were 8.2 x 10^3 /uL,Neutrophiles were 4.7 x 10^3, Lymphocytes were 2.3 x 10^3 and monocytes were 0.5 x 10^3.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, her doctors are correct. Stroke kills alot of the brain cells and our brain is responsible for all that we do in life. Your grandmother is paralyzed on one side because it's likely that part of the brain that controlled that side of movement is gone. I'm sorry...
Avatar f tn Round ligaments ... They calm down after a few weeks ..

Avatar m tn My father almost completed his ECT treatment, but stopped because he couldn't handle the nausea-- something he and my family regretted for a long time. I think you really need to weigh the pros and cons. Things must be pretty serious if you are getting this treatment, so maybe you want to stick it out? Do you know the predicted trajectory of your treatment (for example, I was only about eleven at the time, but I think my father had two weeks left...

1701843 tn?1307197308 HE IS ADAMENT THAT THEY ARE INOPERABLE. IT IS A VERY AGGRESSIVE CANCER, AND GROWS AND ATTACHES TO HEALTHY BRAIN CELLS VERY QUICKLY. WITHOUT SURGERY LIFE EXPECTANCY IS NOT VERY LONG, SO WE HAVE DECIDED TO PURSUE THAT AVENUE THUROUGHLY BEFORE ACCEPTING THAT DECISION. I GOT THE NAME OF A NEUROSURGEON AT KARMANOS CANCER CENTER IN DETROIT THAT TENDS TO BE MORE AGGRESSIVE WITH DOING SURGERIES THAT OTHERS DO NOT WANT TO DO. WE ARE ALSO GOING TO GO TO UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN FOR TREATMENT OPTIONS.
Avatar n tn Long term opiate use changes the way nerve cells in the brain work. These cells grow so used to having the opiate around that they actually need it to work normally. If opiates are taken away from dependent nerve cells, many cells become overactive. Eventually, these cells will work normally again, but in the meantime, they cause a wide range of symptoms in the brain and body. These are known as withdrawal symptoms.
333672 tn?1273792789 Of course, this is another thing that goes wrong in MS when the blood-brain barrier is breached, allowing errant T cells and B cells into the CNS. Microglia are neurotoxic and can kill oligodendrocytes in MS, but may also have a neuroprotective role (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19409897) 4. ASTROCYTES.
Avatar f tn Im 13w 1d pregnant. When I sneeze I have a horrible pain in my lower abdomen. It lasts for about a minute or so. I told my dr about it and he says its due to my muscles stretching. Does anyone else get this pain? It brings tears to my eyes it hurts so bad.

Avatar f tn have there been any developments with your inability to sneeze? i noticed you posted this concern Aug 17 and it is now mid December. I came across this thread because it is the same issue i currently have. I think the last time I sneezed was nearly a month ago in mid November and I dont know if i hit my eyeball too hard or if holding in a sneeze by accident a few weeks ago is what has triggered this issue.
Avatar m tn Longstanding theories about depression suggest that important neurotransmitters—chemicals that brain cells use to communicate—are out of balance in depression. But it has been difficult to prove this. Brain-imaging technologies, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have shown that the brains of people who have depression look different than those of people without depression. The parts of the brain involved in mood, thinking, sleep, appetite, and behavior appear different.
Avatar f tn I think so. Everyone I know says it usually hurts and it kills me when my son kicks. I swear he's gonna break MY ribs with those strong legs of his.
