I had thought that it might be cleaners myself, or maybe the chemicals they use in green salads to keep the lettuce fresh longer, or even fine mist of fry oil in the air. Chances are you eat all of your salad at the restaurant and don't bring it home, and are not frying as much (if at all) at home.

I am allergic to lettuce. It took me 23 years to figure it out.. but once I did... life was easier. My allergy causes severe migraines and nausea and hot flashes. I used to always get sick after eating salads... my dad swore it was the MSG in the salad dressings. But one day, while eating dinner at a boyfriend's parents' house... his mom made spinach salad ... and I didn't get sick.

i was watching tv n the other day on the news they said iceburg lettuce dosent contain any kinds of nutrients i love lettuce n buy the packed bag that comes ready for salads .... i squeeze lemon juice sum salt and peper..... but my sis in law also told me that that type of lettuce is also the dirties ..... i feel bad know all my preg i didnt eat something as healthy as i tought .....

I usually go to the US Dept. of Agriculture to find nutrition amounts for various foods. For some reason they're not listing various lettuce types. I tried basic "lettuce" and found that 1 cup of cooked lettuce (yuck) has 19.4 mg of vit K. Any other idea how I might search for radicchio? Is it related to something else I could search?

Also an iceburg lettuce lol 28weeks today as well. Hello 3rd trimester!

s the heightened sense of smell but the doctor said the pain was cause my uterus stretches when u sneeze so that it was normal

I have the same thing happen when I sneeze. I will sneeze and it is almost like I get a period cramp. I can feel my whole uterus tighten. It is crazy. I would not worry about it though. It is a bit uncomfortable, but I am 28 weeks pregnant and the baby is doing great.

I like the sneezing but the peeing and pooping because of force of sneeze gets me. Talk about stares when in public. I've had people in front of me duck.

I hate that part of being prgnant and it dosent stop after the baby gets here just cross your legs and if you sneeze or cough in a store and end up completly peeing yourself don't be embrassed because there's a lot of people it happens too.

Actually, I have the same problem, It is more likely that your body cannot digest the fibres in the lettuce. Especially raw & raw salad items. I get terrible bloating, soreness & loss of appetite. Either avoid or steam it (yes cooked!), the more cooked veggies are the easier to digest often. Google lettuce & stomach problems, some people only have issues with Iceburg, I find that a bad one. No matter what I feel very unwell eating raw lettuce. Hope that is some help.

I'm only 19 weeks and ever since like 14 weeks, I pee a little when I sneeze! Plus, i havent stopped sneezing this wjole pregnancy. I remember it happening with my daughter but not that early. My daughter and hubby seem to think it's funny but I find it annoying. Maybe I need to start doing more kegels lol.

It is extremely normal to have urinary incontinence during pregnancy, especially in the last few months. It is in NO WAY an indicator of labor or that it is time to give birth. It just means you have peed yourself. Try wearing a pad or panty liner to keep your undies dry.
