Avatar n tn I ate a box of mothballs in 1957, while living in Germany. As I recall, I smelled them for years after having my stomach pumped. But look at me now; I turned out OK, didn’t I? Well, didn’t I :o)? Q. How do you smell mothballs? A. Hold ‘em up by their little wings.
Avatar n tn in the last two weeks i have had three blood vessels just pop in my fingers. i was not doing anything out of the ordinary. what could be causing this? should there be a cause for concern?
Avatar n tn I have muscle spasm in or around the ribs on both sides (in the front under the breast and sometimes in the back at the same horizontal position), it feels like a ball rolling, in that it switches sides. It occurs even at night during sleep, painful enough to wake me. I only know that when I relax and stretch (the side where the knot is) using several positions I have to wait till it goes away, in many cases to have it return in other places described above.
Avatar n tn I have been having a sharp burning pain in my upper back mostly on the left side by the shoulder blade. At times my neck and left arm are effected too. The pain is present upon rising and lasts throughout the day. I am concous of my posture and do not believe it to be the cause. The pain worsens if i am carring anything at arms lengths or even if i am carring a light bag over either of my shoulders.
Avatar n tn Way back when they found the fluid around my heart, the doctors acknowledged that it was there and told me that they were not going to worry about it. This was an Air Force doc in Weisbaden, Germany in 1988. I have been having headaches, dizzy spells, loosing my balance, shortness of breath, wake up in the middle of the night and cannot breathe; am out of breath after walking just a short distance. I am not overweight and up until now, I considered myself to be pretty active.

242516 tn?1368227505 org/health_chats/register/17 Due to the swine flu, the US has declared a public health emergency. We're early in the outbreak of this new virus, with most all patients in the US having mild illness who have recovered without treatment. Only 1 of the 20 cases have been hospitalized. Since the US strain is a genetic match to the Mexico strain, officials are concerned about the potential of deaths in America from swine flu.
Avatar m tn First I want to express my happiness that after so many years I at least found an answer to the question that somnoi is happening. I do not speak English in English. I made the translation. When I was 15, I began to notice that people avoided me. Scales, rub your nose. Wherever I go everywhere is a similar picture. Time passed but the problem remained. My relatives used to say that I'm crazy that I do not smell.
206807 tn?1331939784 de/20141003/ugandan-doctor-hospitalized-for-ebola-in-germany On BBC news there was a vague reference to two patients in New Haven It is strange that they are telling us not to worry while CNN is reporting on it 24/7 I may stop searching for now.
Avatar m tn I am male, 33 years, 173cm and 82kg (live in Germany). My diet and physical activity is average (cycle most days...consume meat, veg, bread...some sweets...lots of water and tea...modest alcohol maybe once or twice a week...no recreational drugs). I have: - diagnosed chronic asthma: used Salbutamol 2-8 times per day for 25 years, now starting to use Symbicort/Viani (since middle-2011) which has dramatically reduced the times I need Salbutamol. - forget to breathe while falling asleep.
Avatar n tn It just keeps happening like it's ground hogs day. It starts with a weird scratch in my throat, then sometimes I will sneeze and sneeze...and then for the most part I have that awful feeling you get when you just start to get sick. Which is worst then actually being sick, because you feel like you are on the border, and you know there is a fight going on in your body...but that you are losing it.
Avatar dr m tn One of the most important reasons to breathe through your nose is because of a gas called nitric oxide that's made by your nose and sinus mucous membranes. This gas is produced in small amounts, but when inhaled into the lungs, significantly enhances your lung's capacity to absorb oxygen. Nitric oxide is lethal to bacteria and viruses and is also known to increase oxygen absorption in your lungs from 10-25 percent.
Avatar n tn My question is related to the reliability of the HIV duo test at 28 days? I had unprotected oral sex with an African sex worker in Germany five weeks ago. There is a possibility we had sex, but due to being heavily drunk I honestly cannot remember. She spoke fluent German so I presume she has resided there for some time.
Avatar n tn My surgeon (in Germany, Straubing) said that he doesnt see any problem...while all other doctors from USA, France, Netherlands, UK and even Germany-clearly could see that the disc that was put in me is almost 2X too tall and prior to the surgery I had a collapsed disc (bone on bone) and degenerated hyperthrophied facets-which are absolute contraindications to the ADR. I had a revision done 3 months ago and it was the most horrid surgery that anyone could imagine...Having hard time recovering.
Avatar n tn Emcy2--Whoa girl!! there is plenty of love in here!!!, is there common sense also???? 4544656 tn?1371597148 How long have you been off meds? My LLMD is in Albany, NY. They are pretty well known around here. They train in Germany several times a year and are up to speed on ILADS protocols. I had to hop around a bit on my meds because of reactions to the different abx. The flagyl made me quite mentally ill! Herx? Not sure, but it was scary! Lol. I was told that I have neuro Lyme. Is that harder to treat? I hope I don't need a PICC!
282804 tn?1236837191 Hi All, Here's something fun, try not to look at the answers before answering the questions. ENJOY!! Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it is important that we keep mentally alert the saying; "If you don't use it, you will lose it" also applies to the brain, so... Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence.
Avatar f tn My daughter has had many many neuro exams in the last 13 yrs. The best I have ever witnessed were done in Germany or in Dr. Rosner's 3 hour visit. What we need more of are good diagnosticians particularly in Alabama. Thank you for a wonderful forum and invaluable information that has helped me to help my daughter! I'm a little shy on the posting side but will try to communicate more as we go along. I will make it shorter next time around!
Avatar n tn As for nickieb, I have not had any of those symptoms you describe, except maybe some pressure in my ear, but not the cheeks and not any numbness. To Steve19, that is interesting about the sneeze. I have not thought of that or noticed it, but I'll try that next time. I'll just take a whiff of pepper and see if I can sneeze it out. I agree with you that it seems some things work better some than others.
2079692 tn?1332062663 Now when I go out , I have a strong urge to Sneeze , but I can not build it up, resulting in frustration. The ticklish feeling in the nose goes after some time, but till it is there it causes a great deal of discomfort including pressure in eyes and headache. Is anyone aware of such OCD. Please let me know if there is some solution to this.
Avatar f tn They can do surgery to remove them but in most cases they just reappear and usually come back worse. There is a Dr. in Germany who has been doing a procedure for adhesions for many years and with very good success. And no, it is not available in the U.S. I suggest for you all to do some research - Google Abdominal Adhesions, Dr. Daniel Kruschinski and Sprayshield. I really am only waiting for a Dr. to confirm that this is her problem and then I will get her to Germany for surgery.
Avatar f tn Hello Everyone, I was asked to post my information and video about Convenia here. This drug isn't safe due to how long it stays in the system alone. If your cat or dog has a bad reaction it will be very difficult to counteract that. I hope this will help someone avoid the death or harm of their beloved cat or dog. Please inform yourselves about Convenia if you're not familiar with and request that NO CONVENIA be put in the charts. Lets take this drug off the market for good..
Avatar n tn I fell ice skating on Saturday, and I have to fly to Germany (14 hour plane ride) in 2 weeks. I'm terrified I won't be able to handle sitting as long as I need to, but this trip is for work! I guess I should just drug myself and try to sleep the whole flight.
Avatar n tn I drank some Bittburger beer in Germany and that didn't work for me, either. I don't know what I'm allergic to in beer, but I stay far, far away from the stuff. It never occured to me that there may be a correlation between beer and other foods until I read all the posts. It would explain some of the issues I have with foods (getting itchy after I eat certain things, etc). I'll talk to my doctor at my next appointment.
Avatar m tn that would be great indeed. By the way in Germany you need rx for alpha lipoic acid and it is therefore covered by insurance. Dr. Berkson used to import Thiotic Acid directly from Germany but because of import issues he now uses ALA from European Source made by McGuff Compounding Pharm in Ca, why because over there it is regulated as medicine and you do not get stuff from China which is where most of the US supplements are coming from these days.
Avatar n tn When it snows it may pick as if someone is sticking a needle in the place when the shunt has been put in. When it rains it will calm down. The atmospheric pressure has a lot of influence on how you feel.
