Avatar m tn Marijuana can cause panic attacks in some people. Mainly in people who have been smoking for a long time, however, I suffered panic attacks after only 4 months of smoking. Marijuana stimulates the pleasure cells in your brain. If you wan't a scientific answer do a web search. Personally, marijuana affects on me were : increased taste, increased hunger, increased sense of hearing, increased sexual pleasure, increased interest in simple or mundane activities, increased paranoia, and sedation.
Avatar f tn hecky, it can also have effect on liver too. Why would you want to give your liver any extra work when it is lying there in your body knackered already trying its hardest to fight on your behalf!!!! Give it some help. QUIT SMOKING. It will be difficult but well worth it.
Avatar f tn Quitting smoking side effects are mainly to do with the body trying to detox itself from all of the harmful chemicals that you have been putting into your body by smoking cigarettes. You always have to bear in mind from the beginning of any attempt at quitting smoking that the benefits for you are going to be fantastic. Mild depression or sadness, there goes your best friend that you turned to in need. Tobacco was always handy to blot out your worries and give you your fix.
Avatar f tn I still continued to smoke for a couple of days, but only a couple of puffs from my husbands cigarette 2-3 times a day, then I looked online about the effects off smoking whilst pregnant and quit straight away! There are times when I would like a cigarette but I care for my unborn baby a million times more than a dirty fag! Honestly the best thing you can do is quit, every time you smoke your babies tiny heartbeat has to beat extremely fast as it struggles for oxygen!
Avatar f tn Look up some articles if you want to know the effects of smoking. You don't want to put anything into your body tat isn't good for either of you while you are pregnant. I don't know of any doctors who would encouraged you to continue smoking unless you are stressing out more from not smoking.
Avatar f tn There hasnt been a study on the effects of weed on the human body since the 1930s when it was illegalized. And to top it all off it wasnt illegalized for the effects!
Avatar f tn Your brain and body do feel the effects of the drug nicotine in the tabacco. Your baby will feel it to, and it may or may not effect brain developement. My mom had 2 sisters. Of the 3 mommys, one smoked cigarettes and drank a little during pregnancy. The 2 mom's who did not smoke or drink had multiple healthy live births where all kids went to college...school teachers, attorneys, business peeps. The aunt who smoked and drank had low birth weight babies.
Avatar f tn Google how smoking effects your baby. One was it increases the risk of sids (sudden infant death syndrome). That alone should be enough for someone to quit but a lot of moms turn a blind eye to the negative side effects. Best of luck quitting! !!

Avatar f tn What are the side effects of smoking when pregnant? Did any of u girls smoke when u were pregnant? I'm 16 weeks and trying to quit but it a lot harder than I thought .
Avatar n tn Vaping is WAY worse for you and the baby than cigarettes are. I'm currently trying to quit; have been a pack and a half a day smoker for years and after a week I'm down to 5 or less a day. If it's just too ******* hard and you have to have a cigarette once in awhile. Do it. It's better than putting other chemicals into your body that your system isn't used to. Vapor isn't just "water" and the "nicotine" is a chemical compound designed to mimic it.
Avatar n tn But i stopped for almost a year with no problems. never really a big user. but recently i smoked alot over the past week. and i stopped smoking and drinking all together a day or two later because i was feeling really wierd. i get butterflyes in my stomach, sometimes randomly feel dizzy, disconnected from people and things.. i feel the best when i wake up in the morning and then it kinda starts through out the day.
786232 tn?1241742056 Look up how to do a body cleanse, sounds like your body is having a overload of chemicals, and possibly a deficiancy, "probably B Vit," have you ever got tested for deficiancys? I get the twitch too, lol Kinda makes me laugh..its getting better though. How long ago have you quit smoking? Cigs have ALLOT of different chemicals in them that build up in the system, so a cleanse is reccomended.
Avatar m tn This is great if you have no problems with side effects , but if you do, PLEASE let your Doctor know. I am a 12 year CHF suvivor, had an initial EF of 18% which is not up 45%. During my adventure with heart diease I found I could not, and in some cases refused to tolerate a number of the most commonly prescribed drugs. Among them were coreg, any beta blocker, lipitor and others.
Avatar f tn Not to mention the fact thanks the all those toxic elements, your baby can be born already going though withdraw. Which create more issues in your babys health, mood, breathing, and growth.
Avatar m tn So basically the concept of the medication is that when you quit smoking you quit getting your regular dopamine fix (the brain rewards you for smoking a cigarette by releasing dopamine which makes you feel good.) The zyban, over the course of a few weeks, stops your body from breaking down the natural dopamine in your brain as quickly. So ideally it keeps you from returning to smoking by keeping your dopamine system from crashing.
Avatar f tn I have a close friend who has been addicted to marijuana for a long time, she also smoked during her pregnancy and no they did not test her for it when she gave birth. I don't know much on the effects of marijuana use during pregnancy but I strongly suggest that you look into that for the benefit of the baby. I know that she breastfed for quite a while, continuing to pass the drug onto her child. Our sons are the same age and have been friends since infancy.
Avatar m tn But we all know that smoking has its negative effects in the body and the lungs is the part that usually gets affected more when we smoke. Hopefully it doesn't harm yours since you said you're just smoking occasionally. But if you really want to get better, you will never go back to that bad habit of smoking again. You can consider e-cig as a better and healthier alternative to smoking instead.
Avatar m tn I have read about the effects of quitting smoking, and that they can sometimes last for weeks/months; however, prolonged periods of pain/stress will be counterproductive for someone who is also trying to cope with chronic liver disease, even if the end result is to detoxify the body... Hence my question...and looking for palliatives which will not harm the liver. (Yoga...meditation...diet...all this is already part of her daily life). Thank you very much, Arusha.

Avatar m tn There are other ways to treat nausea. Smoking 'spice' is more dangerous than smoking pot. I don't recommend either one. But 'spice' has chemicals in it that are AWFUL for your body, and can cause all sorts of negative effects like nausea. Please look into another way to treat this without the 'spice'. Your doctor can help.
Avatar f tn ve been taking zoloft for the past 5 years and had had no negative effects up until about a year ago when I started smoking marijuana. I started smoking marijuana in september last year about a month after i had increased my Zoloft dosage to 125 mg. Since that September I have been a regular marijuana user due to its positive effects. I've been suffering from tremors after I smoke since about December.
Avatar f tn meggster, firstly understand that you should quit for your own health reasons, and not because somebody wants you to!!! I think now you are old enough to understand and take seriously that cigarette smoke can cost you your life in the course of time. 'am sure you must be aware of all the ill-effects of smoking? Smoking, which starts as a teenage fad, for impressing others. ..blah...blah. ..etc..often becomes a dirty and dangerous life-time habit!
