smoking

Avatar m tn If this is the case, this can be related to your smoking. Nicotine has been implicated to cause gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, dry mouth, dyspepsia, hiccups, flatulence, increased salivation, and unpleasant taste. Try to avoid cigarette smoking or exposure to nicotine to prevent such symptoms. Take care and best regards.
Avatar n tn A black coating on tongue can be due to poor oral hygiene, fungal infection of some types, smoking and side effects of some drugs. Do discuss this with your doctor (a dentist) and get yourself examined. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar m tn my front portion of my tongue is a little sensitive and dry, also and the roof of my mouth is also a little sore. i also have thick slimy mucus or saliva. Don't know if this helps but i also quit smoking about 2 or 3 days ago as well. now the dryness and such only started to be noticeable yesterday and like i said its a dryness and not so much of a pain. Guess my question is if i have anything to be concerned about like tongue or throat cancer?
Avatar m tn After 5 days my problem has almost gone away but still very mild irritation and sore throat is there. Also my tongue is whitish but can be easily cleaned with tongue cleaner. Am continuously doing warm salty water goggling. Can any one tell what could be the problem?
Avatar m tn I just noticed today 2 bright red lines under my tongue and what appears to be piece of skin hanging from it. Has anyone seen this from taking PEP before or is HIV definitely taking hold? I looked up pics for STD's and nothing came up. I found one pic online that looked like this and the guy had no idea what it was neither did anyone else. I heard there were many side effects of pep and I have had none so far except feeling a little anxious like I just quit smoking.
Avatar f tn Recently I noticed my tongue had a whiteish hue/coating at the very back of my tongue. As well as swollen taste buds at the back of my tongue. I looked it up and now in convinced I have oral thrush caused by HIV. Now I got ahold of the worker and they assured me they are HIV- and have been tested 2 months ago. I have also been steadily smoking unfiltered cigarettes mixed with marijuana through bongs for about 3 years.

Avatar f tn I have throat and tongue irritation whenever I smoke even a few cigarettes e.g. even 1-2 cigarettes for 4-5 days leads to the irritation which takes about 3-4 days to heal. It starts again even if I smoke one cigarette a few days later. But after 2-3 weeks it heals completely and I can smoke 1-2 cigarettes once in a while e.g. every other week or so. But after sometime I enter the same cycle again.

Avatar f tn In the last few years I have had tiny white bumps appear on the tip of my tongue and my tongue appears swollen. In the past I have taken benadryl and that has taken care of it. They seem to come more often now. I keep up on my teeth cleanings and fillings if needed. I also suffer now from hypothyroidism due to the irradation of my thyroid due to hyperthyroidism. Could that be the cause? This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn If you discontinue smoking, you may get the numbness on the tongue and the mouth area. Otherwise, you will have to look for vitamin deficiency aw a cause. Do you have any other symptoms? Do you have migraine?
Avatar m tn Immediately after taking them, I felt good and a lot of the troubles I have been having with my mouth(white spots on tongue, sore throat) disappeared. Then, on the fourth day, it all returned with a vengeance. Sore throat, dry cough, white coated tongue, and since then has only gotten worse. I stopped the Zantac after about 12 days and on that day my neck started to ache like crazy. The day after I was in pain and had a bad sore throat, still dry coughing. Is this a side effect of the Zantac?

Avatar f tn I have a close friend who has been addicted to marijuana for a long time, she also smoked during her pregnancy and no they did not test her for it when she gave birth. I don't know much on the effects of marijuana use during pregnancy but I strongly suggest that you look into that for the benefit of the baby. I know that she breastfed for quite a while, continuing to pass the drug onto her child. Our sons are the same age and have been friends since infancy.
Avatar f tn I still continued to smoke for a couple of days, but only a couple of puffs from my husbands cigarette 2-3 times a day, then I looked online about the effects off smoking whilst pregnant and quit straight away! There are times when I would like a cigarette but I care for my unborn baby a million times more than a dirty fag! Honestly the best thing you can do is quit, every time you smoke your babies tiny heartbeat has to beat extremely fast as it struggles for oxygen!
Avatar n tn Their is no question that there is a direct link between smoking and periodontal (gum) disease and smoking. Numerous studies have indicated such. Also oral cancer has been directly to smoking and other tobacco products in the mouth.I would suggest that you see your dentist or an oral surgeon.
Avatar m tn Hi, I've had for about 2-3 weeks white patches on the sides of my tongue, on top of it and also on the underside, they seem to appear and dissappear in almost the same place but not always with the same shape, they hardly hurt, except when I eat certain foods, and I get like a tingling or burning sensation, my question is: Could this be geographic tongue? I also notice that they appear when I am under a lot of stress which I have been lately.
