Avatar f tn Well a few months back during a rigorous swim team session, I had a really bad cramp in my right leg. I stretched it out and such and got back in the pool. However, ever since that session, every time I sprint in races, or just do butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle even, I start to feel like a cramp is going to happen. It's like the feeling of it is in my legs when I swim. Then it turned into a bigger problem.
Avatar f tn We are due in early December and just found out today that we are in team Blue! We just bought our first baby boy thing too. It is a little swim hat for next year. We are on our way to tall his mom. So excited. This is our first!
Avatar f tn When I was pregnant with my first, I would take naps on my days off and sleep as much as possible. Now that I'm pregnant and my son is 4, it's much more difficult! Luckily, if I get really sleepy, he will let me doze off while he watches cartoons in the same room and wake me up if he needs anything. My fiance and I have explained to him that making a baby is hard work and sometimes I need to rest so he can take a nap with me or play quietly.
Avatar f tn Hi there and welcome. Oh, I think it is fine to swim. I was a swimmer and swam during my full period. I used tampons. Swim team doesn't stop because of our lady friend. :>) so, have fun swimming!
10039005 tn?1407675840 I'm with u guys :( team no sleep!! ugh!! but I usually find that a warm bath to relax your muscles and a pillow under ur side and in between ur legs help with discomfort.. Try that if u haven't yet..
Avatar m tn m that crazy parent that lets them explore what they want to do and they often play a couple sports at the same time. My boys are 8 and 9. Both my boys swim on a year round swim team, one plays soccer too and the other plays Fall baseball and flag football this sports season. The biggest challenge to multiple sports at a time in one season is scheduling. You don't want to short change one team for another. So, I work hard to schedule things so they don't conflict.
Avatar f tn i use to play softball in 6th grade & i was pitcher, couple months later i swim season began & i couldn't do it, my arm felt week and i had this pulling feeling on my right arm which i use to pitch with. last summer 2010 i played softball again this time i was catcher & the couches would make me throw to hard where i started to have the arm trouble again this time it was my bone & joints they would pull every time i threw a ball.
8377023 tn?1399509160 Im sitting at a pool right now watching two of the kids I nanny at swim team. Well my daughter has not stopped kicking me. Can she hear the water being kicked?
290867 tn?1333569278 t have a higher chemical content, but more concentrated because of the enclosed space. I was in the swim team for 5 years in school and indoor pools always made me sick because the air was so redolent with chlorine.
Avatar m tn Alright so over christmas break the swim team practiced everyday, and I jumped into the pool ( 2ft.) and my knee landed and now i cannot bend my knee nor walk without it hurting. I thought it would heal by now but obviously not. help?
Avatar m tn Ever since i have been on swim team in high school i have found it hard to breath right. Now i am a sophomore in college and i work at a pool for 7hrs a day. I dont move much, just in a pool teaching kids how to swim, but i find it hard to breath- i almost cried once it was bad. I dont cough much, rarely actually...i just find it hard to breath...could the chlorine in the air/water be causing it?
Avatar f tn I hate that I'm so sleepy during the day, but can't sleep at all at night. Its 4am & I work in the morning:/I need a sleep trick!
Avatar n tn Hi um I'm 13 so what would be most common and I only swim over the summer last year on a swim team that's it so would that still be the swim one maybe and do lymph nodes hurt?
Avatar n tn In my high school we have a swim team. I'm also not a big fan of using tampons, so I tried swimming without them keeping in mind my practice is an hour and a half. After a while if you get out and do walk around it will start to run down your leg just because the water is cleansing you it may over cleanse and start to drip, but i would not recommend using tampons for swimming over half and hour.
Avatar m tn what is a staff infection some people on our swim team have it and i was wondering what it is
Avatar f tn Aw congratulations :) Depends on what kinda name you want, something original, something classic, named after family, if you want an area-typical name.
Avatar f tn He just had decompression surgery for chairi 1 malformation. We are hoping he can one day swim on the school team again. His neuro has released him as long as he is careful and doesnt over do it. As far as the bypass though what can I expect for recovery time and will he ever be allowed to swim on the team again? If so are there restrictions with it? What are common restrictions from this once fully recovered? What can we expect in general for recovery time etc.
900662 tn?1469390305 NMSS asked me to use this survey with our swim participants - I actually had a person tell me it depressed her so much that she didn't want to even come to the swim group. I felt bad for her. This test can be an unsettling reality check if you have experienced major changes. Whatever you do, if you take the MSQOL54, discuss the problem areas with your medical team and see what changes can be made to improve your situation.
Avatar m tn Tampons are great to use, I started using them when I was 10 years old and on a competitive swim team (I was lucky and got my period at 10). I agree that taking extra tampons is a good idea. Have fun!
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm a 44-year-old female that was born with congenital heart disease. I had open heart surgery when I was an infant and have not had any issues since. I have a pronounced murmur but have never been on medication. I was diagnosed with CHF with a 12% EF in early December. I feel good most of the time except I'm sleepy a lot.
945463 tn?1266521933 I played water polo for a little bit in middle schoolish. My college has a really good swim team and I can maybe get a scholarship if I get on the team. I don't really like working out except for weight lifting which I can't do anymore but I love sports.I think it is more of the adrenaline rush I get from competition that motivates me. My apartment complex just opened a pool so I can practice at home. I have to call my doctor first.
1423357 tn?1511085442 A little boy on my daughters swim team had a service dog. When the dog detected or sensed that he was going to have a seizure, it would try and go hide. When that happened his mom and dad knew he was going to have a seizure which in turn allowed them time to put on his protective helmet and get him to an area were the odds of him hurting himself was less. Not all dogs react the same way when they sense a seizure is going to happen, that just happens to be his.
Avatar n tn My 12 yr. old is the member of a swim team. She is very shy however she has been on this team for almost a year. She is good and she loves the practices however when it is time for competition she gets herself so upset she starts throwing up sometimes the day before. She can't keep anything down. The last time was so bad that after the meet ,even though she was proud to finish well she passed out from lack of food or drink. Any suggestions on what we can do to calm her down.
