Common Questions and Answers about Sleep tech

Avatar f tn Can anyone (sleep tech or doc) help me with a few crazy questions? I'm a sleep technologist and have been one for 13 years....I'm having a hard time getting an answer to these even from the med director here....any good tips for determining if it's plms or very small RERAs; I'm not talking about obvious ones, I mean where it could go either way easily. Looking for tips b/c my med dir doesn't believe in them, but I do of course.
Avatar f tn I had a sleep study a couple of nights ago and the tech said he didn't see anything "significant". I stopped breathing 3 times in stage 3 sleep, he said. I am 5' 8" and 135 pounds and hypothyroid treated with Armour. Anyways I received a copy of the report today and it says: 'There were a total of 27 respiratory disturbance; 3 apneas (1 obstructive, 0 mixed, 2 central) 8 hypopneas and 16 RERA's.
Avatar f tn Well I went back to do my tests for the CPAP and was suprised to find that the tech. that did my sleep study gave me the wrong info. I do not have sleep apnea but my oxygen levels were so low that I now have to wear oxygen at night. I have been sleeping better. Anyone else having this problem?
Avatar f tn can anyone help with this, and if i have tech problems like this, where do i go from now on.
Avatar f tn Hi all I have read some old posts about Hep Tech Just wondering if there is current Hep Tech users and has the medicine stopped liver disease progression?
1395422 tn?1308016251 Hello. My dog is 4 years old, I've had him since he was 8 weeks. Starting within the past year he sometimes poops in his sleep, like, in my bed. I know, gross right? It's not diarrhea, completely normal stools. It just happens when he's dreaming and it's not an entire pile, maybe just one or two pieces. He eats a clean diet which used to be Nutros Natural Choice, but then my Vet. told me to switch to something without Glucosamine in it.
Avatar m tn t feel as sleepy as I do during the day, and during a recent sleep study the sleep tech came in to check on me because my heart rate was so high, and I think this is common for me.
Avatar f tn Ugh. Can't sleep...NT scan today. Were you ladies allowed to have your partner in the room with you for this? I'm a little nervous...
Avatar f tn So I have my anotomy scan booked this Thursday. So excited:) however I won't be finding out till my reveal party on Sunday. However I can't sleep lol and I just want to know so I can start my clothes shopping!
Avatar n tn re done with your taper. But eventually you can expect to sleep. If this was prescribed for sleep problems, they will still need to be resolved, but I suggest seeing a sleep specialist.
Avatar f tn Hello ladies! Just woundering who has same problem. I am 26 weeks preg and have terribly friquent urinating from the very first day of pregnancy. Suffering whole 6 months now. Doctor said its normal but im sure it is't. It dont evelets me sleep. Almost in every 10 min. My all analyses are just great.
Avatar f tn I don't think so. Maybe your baby was just sleepy during the ultrasound. I slept on my back most of time and my baby's heart rate has always been in the normal range. What do you mean lowish? As long as your U/S tech or doctor didn't say anything is wrong then there's nothing to worry about.
1943295 tn?1388239324 I was disappointed at how cold the ultrasound tech was at my 12 week scan for my down symptom.. She barely even talk at all. Since I'm a FTM, I was hoping to get a tv moment like "look, here the's baby's heart beat...blah blah" but I got cold indifference. I try not to let that brother me as long as all the test come back fine, which it did. Then for my 20 weeks scan I was so praying for a different tech which I did :) This lady was so nice and chatty.
Avatar f tn Basically it's just a guess. They cannot tell you with any certainty - based off length and gestational age they can give you a rough estimate. But if an ultrasound tech tells you a specific weight, pounds and ounces, they're bluffing. They can be off by well over a pound and they know it. My "about 7 pounds" baby came out at 9lbs two days after that "estimate". I would definitely say that in no way does that mean you had a "bad" tech - just an honest one.
187666 tn?1331173345 s still feeling shaky. So the tech is doing the TVUS and trying to point things out to her. Looks like she has a 5 cm hemorrhagic cyst on the left ovary. Her uterus is thick and irregular. The tech was saying, "Hmm, look at that right there. Wonder what that is? This area could be of some concern." I'm thinking, if you don't have the facts, just shut up. So now she's worried and doesn't know what's going on in there.
172023 tn?1334672284 PLEASE, PLEASE make a tech support forum. I get at least 2 or 3 messages a day, asking if there is a glitch (which recently there has been) in certain areas. I then have to track down my secret helper and copy the message to him. I know people could use the Contact link, but they don't. A tech support forum might be very helpful!
Avatar f tn I went in for my 19 week anaotomy scan and the tech looked like she was new. After the 30 min scan she said,"ok all done " and the entire time I was waiting anxiously to find out the gender . I have two boys and wanted to know if its a girl this time . I had to beg her to at least look and see if she could tell me .
Avatar f tn Had my 3D ultrasound yesterday-foundbout we're having a boy, which is very exciting-but my ultrasound tech wasn't very gentle. My little boy is head down & sitting very low in my pelvic area, so she had to push and prod & manipulate so she could get the pictures they needed to make sure our son is healthy & everything looks normal. Luckily, everything looks good, but my uterus feels bruised now!! Anyone have a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Had a Cervical length checking and the tech told me she was breached and since a Lil over a week I have been feeling her kicks right in the middle like if she wants to kick her self out... I wish she would change position..it's just so uncomfortable. .
410281 tn?1254229064 o(. I am constantly severely fatigued. It's bone crushing lately. What should I expect?
Avatar f tn After a sleep test, I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. I slept for about 5 hours and I stopped breathhing 203 times, and my pulseox dropped to 60. My doctor said it was the worst case he had seen. Could this be an exaggeration? Also, I am having a machine delivered and set up by a tech in 2 days. Which machine is easiest to handle. I have heard horror stories about CPAP. The main problem was the fact that the air is blowing back at your nose when trying to exhale. Can't this be adjusted.
600561 tn?1326845621 I have just visited a prosthodontist concerning a device recommended for mild sleep apnea patients instead of the CPAP machine. Medicare will be billed $800 + and I will pay $4-500 for things insurance will not cover. ON THE OTHER HAND: www.snorerx.com/stopsnoring looks very, very , very much like the device mentioned above that I am NOT going to have Medicare billed for. Why not invest $100 and try it instead of draining Medicare and spending much more myself? I have mild (5.
446156 tn?1275859576 m putting in your file that you are not to go to her anymore. We can send you to our other tech.) YAY! I get to go to the nice tech for now on! I love my midwife... shes so nice! I have to go to my obgyn every 2 weeks now! YAY! Its getting close!
233622 tn?1279334905 t fit the CPAP body image (not sure he even looked at the report the tech prepared). On my second sleep study, the MD actually reviewed and interpreted the report with me - What a difference!! He knew I needed it because of both, my hypopnea and apnea. I'd love for modern medicine to get out of the cookie-cutter mode it seems to be in. We don't all fit their academic prototypes (as those of us lingering in Limboland can well attest!).
7491288 tn?1405987203 Well I think I just forgot about the whole idea of still not being able to sleep after being pregnant. I was so excited to get some rest, but between the tech coming to get vitals, the nurse in and out, and my little peanut. Well lets just say its 5am and I think maybe I have gotten 1hour & 1/2 sleep. Cant wait to get home and get Iris on some type of routine. Have a good day ladies.
