Avatar f tn Newborns sleep a lot it's apart of their development. So it's more bonding talking and smiling To ur baby.
Avatar n tn I am concerned this is linked somehow. That my son is in such a deep sleep and along with that he is having irregular breathing. As you explained his color is normal and my Pediatrician said as long as his color is normal there is nothing to worry about... I am not satisfied with that answer at all. This is not only terrifying its upsetting. Is there any luck out there?
1035252 tn?1427227833 Infants should not bed share with other children. Because it is very dangerous to sleep with an infant on a couch or armchair, no one should sleep with an infant on these surfaces. 6. Consider offering a pacifier at nap time and bedtime: Although the mechanism is not known, the reduced risk of SIDS associated with pacifier use during sleep is compelling, and the evidence that pacifier use inhibits reastfeeding or causes later dental complications is not.
7540649 tn?1395719596 This might be a dumb question, but I'm surprisingly unsure about this: can newborn infants sleep in a playpen as their crib? I was given a fold-away playpen today by a coworker, and I'm just not sure whether the baby will be okay in there if I'm using it all the time. Do I need any kind of special bed or padding or anything? I'm pretty sure I don't, and that it's fine.
Avatar f tn I used a pack n play with bassinet while I was awake and took baby to bed with me at night to co sleep. Babies that sleep in a crib by them selves are at a higher risk for sids. Boy babies are also at a higher risk.

Avatar f tn You should let your doctor know about consuming hydrocodone during the first three months of pregnancy! You should about the damage that might have caused to the baby instead of if it's going to show in a DS.
Avatar f tn With supportive treatment, most infants with CMV disease survive. However, from 80% to 90% have complications within the first few years of life that may include hearing loss, vision impairment, and varying degrees of mental retardation. Another 5% to 10% of infants who are infected have no symptoms at birth but subsequently have varying degrees of hearing and mental or coordination problems. you can read the whole article at http://www.medterms.com/script/main/art.asp?

Avatar f tn today and she informed me that this is normal infants can go 7 to 10 dys without releasing. She hardly ate or slept at daycare yesterday and when I assisted her she slept pretty well and nursed for 45mins. Should I be looking for a new pediatrician or is this normal.
1433383 tn?1287665280 Has everyone heard that they're now saying that sleep positioners for infants are dangerous. I'm disappointed, I used one with my first and loved it, it really helped relieve a lot of worry. I felt like I didn't have to be so paranoid about her moving around while I wouldn't notice. Oh well, guess I won't be using one this time. Hopefully I'm not such a "nervous Nelly" (lol) with baby #2!
Avatar n tn I have a friend who had a premature baby at 24 weeks, and the little guy has overcome all sorts of obstacles. He however about 3-4 weeks started having problems with eating. It would take up to 2 hrs for him to take 2 ounces of formula and would also at times vomit. Parents took him to the doctor and he was admitted to hosp and feeding tube put in. The diagnosis they are coming up with is Adversion to Food. Just how does a baby develope that and what can be done?
Avatar m tn When my 1 month old went in for his 2 week check up the doctor told me that quivering is completely normal. She didn't say why exactly though. Just a call to the pedi and I'm sure they'll explain. This should help also: http://www.parksidepediatrics.com/eResources/Newborn/AppearanceandBehavior/tabid/123/Default.
1450627 tn?1296616593 I sleep for maybe 30 min or so at a time before that and I just toss and turn, and nothings comfy, everything feels tight and i wear big baggy t shirts to bed. i feel trapped or something. Arrghh! PLUS we have a king size bed and its my hubby and my 15 lb pup we sleep with so...my body is just going haywire on me! :(. Soooo frustrating!! I usually try to lay there and watch more tv or read on the computer until I get to the point where I think i can sleep.
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, dementia can be associated with the sleep disorders. They usually have a shallow sleep - mostly stage 1 and 2 - and are easily awakened. They also have trouble turning in bed, and i also associated with restlessness in bed. Sometimes patients may be awakened by choking episodes at night that are triggered by sleeping on their backs. These can be effectively treated by addition of dopamine agonist dose against prescription at bedtime.
Avatar f tn I have one that goes under my head and has two arms that lay at my sides for me to cuddle with. I sleep better at nights and it helps me adjust myself. Make sure you save the box and package just in case you dont like it. I have two, one that is soft and one that is firmer.
237053 tn?1258828426 I think sleep disturbance is common with Lyme. It is a chain reaction: You don't sleep well because of symptoms, which wears you down more, which makes you more sick, leading to more/worsened symptoms, and even less/lower quality sleep. I am not currently taking it, but when I was on neurontin the medication helped me sleep more continuously, and I quickly benefited from it. It also helped with some of the paresthesias, but I first noticed the impact on my sleep.
Avatar m tn Your neurologist might suggest milder sleep aids. I take one 200mg tablet of generic ibuprofen or one to two Extended release acetaminophen if I have problems sleeping. Just lying still and slowly breathing in and out 5 times can put me back to sleep. Sometimes I imagine I'm on a inflatable raft in a warm water inlet rocking back and forth with the imaginary waves. That helped when I was working nights and sleeping days. Please be careful of prescription sedative medicines.
20909115 tn?1623046980 I would definitely check in with your primary doc, and advocate for a sleep study to be done. It could be many things, including hypertension and or hypoxia (lack of oxygen) from sleep apnea. These two things definitely need to be ruled out.
