Common Questions and Answers about Sleep problems statistics

sleep

Avatar m tn I don't know about statistics, but I think the risk of Ambien "sleep-walking" is higher if you are taking Ambien every night than if you are only taking it occasionally. I take Ambien once every week or two and have never had this. My mother has taken Ambien every night for years, and she only had this problem when she was also taking narcotic pain medication at the same time.
2062192 tn?1333714423 Iv got one of the pregnancy pillows but it dosnt seem to be helping at the moment. I cant sleep on my back (my body has never let me sleep on my back for as long as I can remember), and the only position I see to get comfy on is on my tummy but coked up slightly on my right side with my knee helping to prop my side up a little but I move a lot in my sleep and every time I change positions I wake up feeling a bit sick and get a slight pain in my abdomen.

1657208 tn?1404165128 If he has not had any real seeping problems before this, what you should try first is to read up on good sleep hygiene, it may help but he will have to give it an honest try. If it continues, he should see his physician. Not being able to sleep is frustrating.
3862348 tn?1348379200 said I have central sleep apnea, and have probably had this most of my life, a simple sleep study found this, and now I use a bi-pap machine, I now sleep very well (although it took awhile to get used to), and have not had those paranoia experiences since. This was several years ago, and if not for other medical problems that came on later, I would say that I was cured. Best of luck, and as always I will tell you to consult your Dr. with the issues.
1073929 tn?1314753990 I have MS and have had problems sleeping for about 9 months now. I tired going to sleep at 9, then 10 and 11 but no matter what time i go to sleep i'll wake up at 3 or 4. I have tried 4 different sleeping meds and none have worked. Is this a normal symptom?
985832 tn?1249126599 Hello I am new here . Hi everyone. My question is what can I do about sleep problems? I never sleep through the night. I get up several times during the night and I have a hard time relaxing even when I can't keep my eyes open. Just when I laydown to go to sleep its like a light switch comes on and I am wide awake again. It really drags me down during the day. I do walk everyday and I take melatonin at night but even though it makes me really sleepy I never stay asleep.
1450627 tn?1296616593 I am not having any problems getting to sleep its just waking up a hundred times that gets to me. I sleep with a body pillow and every time that I roll over (which is very frequently) I have to readjust so its just as comfy as the other side. Plus, I am getting up 2-3 times a night to pee. Sometimes I try and hold it because im too tired to get out of bed but when I do that I cant fall back asleep with a full bladder anyways. I agree with the other person who said to try and sleep alone.

Avatar m tn Finding the root cause of his segmented sleep is important, as sleep deprivation can cause meory loss and disjointed thinking, and you don't want him to get misdiagnosed.
