Avatar f tn Why is it that my blood pressure goes up when I rest or sleep, and it goes down when I do strenuous activity. None of the Dr's I have been to can explain this. I have difficulty sleeping at night because my BP goes up an hour or so after I have gone to sleep.

Avatar f tn Also, ensure to use CPAP regularly to fight the symptoms of sleep apnea. A sleep study called polysomnography may be needed for further evaluation. Consult your doctor for the same. In the meantime you could avoid taking alcohol and try to sleep on your side as this keeps the airways patent. If any nasal blocks try to keep them patent with OTC nasal decongestants. Aim for optimum weight with exercises or long walks. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn ve ever had low blood pressure but I do have high blood pressure now amongst other issues. My symptoms are fatigue and weakness; high blood pressure that does not respond well to much except Atenolol; low body temperature (used to 98.6 on average and now its 96.5 to 97 on average); a strong heartbeat that sometimes can keep me up at night; some headaches every now and then when I used to have no headaches. Can a lack of sleep from UARS over a few years have these kinds of effects on my body?

Avatar n tn The popping of capillaries could be due to high blood pressure. It could be the side effects of your blood pressure medications. Zocor too could cause this. Other than this it could be due to clotting disorders, low platelet count, fragile spider veins, deep vein thrombus, deficiency of Vitamin B12, folic acid, or Vit K, a liver disease or certain cancers. It could also be due to pressure urticaria. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar f tn So anyways, I was told I have low blood pressure. My problems have been for over a year, tired, (went from being extremely hyper person/ single mom with 3 kids running non stop and living off of 4 hours a sleep.) and feeling like I was stopping breathing at night. Had a fainting episode in that time frame where they found I need the pace maker. So now 4 months later I still have alot of symptoms that wont go away.
Avatar f tn [2] Hypotension, anemia, improper sleeping position or poor blood flow in the neck caused by too high pillow are several common causes of the reduced blood supply to the brain during sleep at night. In particular, anyone with too high pillow during sleep is bound to experience recurring sleep paralysis all night. This terrible reduced blood supply to the brain is more likely to occur during waking up during the day than during sleep at night.
Avatar n tn Problems related to sleeping disorders, metabolic disorders like anemia can produce symptoms of sleep problems and fatigue. Sleeping disorders like obstructive sleep apnea can produce inadequate sleep, daytime sleepiness and consequent fatigue. Diabetes Mellitus and Hypothyroidism could also cause fatigue. A simple blood test could help detect diabetes and hypothyroidism. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I am concerned about my blood pressure. I have had two 24 hour blood pressure monitors this year and both showed that I have wild swings in my BP. Throughout the day, my BP swings back and forth from normal ranges up to 186/130 - without any reason. While I sleep, my blood pressure drops drastically, and stays around 80/42. What could cause these symptoms? I also have significant respiratory muscle weakness (following a recent pulmonary test) - could this be connected?
Avatar m tn I am 38 years old female /w 2 kids I didnt find out I had high blood pressure until I broke my foot and the doctor made me aware of it. So for about 2 years I have been on meds. I will admit I dont take them like I should. But I recently had a friend pass away from heart problems. So I just went and got all kind of test.because my blood pressure was 149/110 I did a stress test and EKG.my heart rate is normal but the EKG showed that my left side of heart is enlarged .
Avatar n tn I am 35 years old and never thought I had HIgh Blood pressure until recently. As I am into my higher studies, when visiting the doctor for a fall, they told me I had high pressure readings of 160/110. My pulse was also high, ( I was diagnosed with tachycardia some years ago which was again put down to stress.) They put it down to anxiety and stress, and gave me atenenol 25 mg. Since then I have developed a fear, and my pulse raises whenever the doctor checks my pressure, and my pressure is high.
784382 tn?1376931040 it can be due to high blood pressure, low blood pressure including bleeding disorders causing anemia, heart diseases like arrhythmias, attack, cardiomyopathy, medications like blood pressure drugs , antidepressants, metabolic disorders like hypoxia, hypoglycemia, dehydration. in women, internal bleeding or hemorrhage, anemia, infections, endocrine disease like thyroid, pituitary gland and adrenals, allergies may cause wheezing, low blood pressure, can trigger sinusitis and resulting dizziness.
Avatar n tn However, people with postural hypotension due to neurological disorders usually have higher blood pressure when lying down. There is a significant drop in blood pressure and that can be problematic and your husband should be evaluated regarding his high blood pressure and postural hypotension (low bp). Hope this helps, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond. Thanks for the question, take care.
Avatar m tn I had my first experience with high blood pressure in 1980 - they found a pheochromacytoma tumor on my adrenal gland. The removed the tumor but have battled hypertension ever since. Not one doctor has gotten it under control.
Avatar m tn I have a high blood pressure and I have been to both an endocrinologist and an otorhinolaryngologist several times within this month. What is the most likely reason I have the high blood pressure? Hashimoto disease the endocrinologist said or my nasal septum's fault which is not straight and my otorhinolaryngologist said? I have done a load of test if you need any further details.
Avatar f tn 2 weeks ago I was in the 160s/90 my doctor put me on a very high dose of blood pressure meds. I refused to take them. I asked for bed rest instead he said no and insisted on b the meds. So I switched am now on bed rest at the hospital and my blood pressure has not been higher than 125/70. Rest rest and rest it will help. Don't over think about it. You will be fine mama.
Avatar f tn The other causes for your symptoms could be metabolic disorders like diabetes and hypothyroidism, which can be detected by a simple blood test. But there is treatment for premenopausal symptoms in the form of Hormone Replacement therapy (HRT). You can discuss this with your primary care physician when you happen to meet him next time. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn If you have no family history of aneurysms, no causative or predisposing factors (like kidney disease, connective tissue disorders, high blood pressure, alcohol or tobacco addiction) then there seems to be no reason to even think of one, without any signs and symptoms. Even those with a family history and predisposition to aneurysms are screened beyond the age of about 30 yrs. Hence, there is no point in getting a scan. Even if you have one, there is usually no medical treatment.
Avatar f tn I am 23 years old and weigh 105, 5'3 and I have very low blood pressure and high pulse. My pulse is usually over 100 and pressure 80/50 and gets as low as 60/40. I get bad dizzy spells and black outs. I changed my diet, water intake, no caffeine, and have normal exercise. When it happens I feel a flutter in my chest and and very dizzy. I also get nauseous and turn completely pale. What could this be?
