Avatar n tn They gave me 4 times the dose of what I was suppose to have- 100 lb. woman. I am having severe sleep deprivation from this, night sweats and the shakes. How do I get my sleep habits back? I am waking up every hour! I am due to have surgery in a few days and am afraid that I am going to wake up during the procedure. I need help, what do i do? Thank you!
1794093 tn?1357930759 I definitely understand the sleep deprivation. It really ***** :( I work overnights and have a terrible time trying to sleep during the morning/afternoons. Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!
1926359 tn?1331588139 m going down by a third a week-the doc said this was ambitious but I really want to be free so there you have it. If I can get a few nights good sleep I will be prepared to deal with the sleep deprivation again....Ugh. So easy to put in your body...so hard to get out. Wish me luck with the sleep fairies tonight....
Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
Avatar m tn I understand how you feel about the sleep deprivation. I went for week's on a few hrs. of sleep. That's part of the depression/anxiety. Give the zoloft a little more time, sleep will come, try not dwelling on it.
Avatar f tn A good natural sleep aid is camomile tea. In some stores (like Walmart) it is even called sleepy time tea, Im 12w6d and it really helped me on those restless nights and its all natural.
Avatar f tn I just switched to 3rd shift and I'm finding it difficult to sleep enough during the day. Is there a sleep aid that I can safely take while pregnant. I'm currently 14 weeks if that makes any difference.
Avatar m tn I already was struggling with poor sleep due to sleep apnea that was undiagnosed at the time. At work my responsibilities increased and I was constantly rehashing in my mind the various decisions I had to make in selecting and writing specs for a data management software conversion. Then an extended family member was killed in the military and I had to plan the local service while the parents were out of state at the memorials on the base.
Avatar m tn ve tried meditation and while that works initially to relax my mind, as soon as I drift off I snap awake. The only thing that knocks me out is severe sleep deprivation (being awake for more than 24 hours) or alcohol (which is less than ideal). I've been working with my general practitioner to figure this problem out but they're frustrated since nothing seems to work. I'm frustrated too. This is impacting my life and has become a huge form of stress and unhappiness.
Avatar f tn If you are experiencing insomnia or sleep deprivation report it to your psychiatrist. If its from the bipolar they would adjust your treatment but if its just general insomnia you could ask about Rozerem an FDA approved sleep aide which adjusts the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive, among other options.
Avatar n tn Most dreaming happens towards the end of our sleep period, and with a high level of sleep deprivation, what little sleep you get could be deeper levels, as indicated by the time you spent in N2 and N3 sleep. You need to find an expert who can interpret your results. Sadly, some (most?) sleep "experts" are not sleep experts, they are sleep apnea experts who can do little more than diagnose sleep apnea and prescribe cpap machines. That was the results of my sleep study.
Avatar m tn Over the past week or two, for the first time in my life, I've been experiencing visual hallucinations -- vivid, lifelike images that scare the he** out of me. This tends to happen in the evening or nighttime when I happen to awaken. I'll notice a person in my room, just standing there and staring at me. I kind of notice it out of the corner of my eye. Then, I stare right at the image...and it immediately vanishes.
Avatar n tn I know I am a teenager and everything, I am beginning to think my sleep deprivation is not normal. A lot of times I cannot get to sleep until 3 or 4 in the morning, which is ok for a weekends, but not for a college student who is spending a lot of money to attend classes. Lately, I have been giving myself ultimatums of either I get to bed by 2-2:30 or I do not go to bed at all because I can't risk missing class due to having only 2-3 hours of sleep. What can I do to help me fall asleep?
Avatar f tn I have been having problems with my vision. I often get black dots and lines floating around in my visual field. I was less concerned about the dots but the increase in the number of 'lines' was concerning. I did have a tree branch hit me in the eye and had wondered if that had done any damage. I did see my optometrist after this and he said my eyes and vision were fine.
