Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!

If I can get a few nights good sleep I will be prepared to deal with the sleep deprivation again....Ugh. So easy to put in your body...so hard to get out. Avatar m tn ve tried meditation and while that works initially to relax my mind, as soon as I drift off I snap awake. The only thing that knocks me out is severe sleep deprivation (being awake for more than 24 hours) or alcohol (which is less than ideal). I've been working with my general practitioner to figure this problem out but they're frustrated since nothing seems to work. I'm frustrated too. This is impacting my life and has become a huge form of stress and unhappiness.

Avatar n tn There not sure why warm milk help sleep as tryptophan only helps with the initial cycle of sleep but can disrupt deep sleep, but you may want to try it to help you get to sleep initially just only drink a small glass. Some people with sleep disorders avoid sleep because subconsciously their body knows sleep will not be a pleasant thing. Do you have any symptoms of sleep apnea perhaps? It turns out that my psyche is extremely adroit at making me not sleep! At any rate, I'm still attempting to figure this issue out and to ultimately "cure" it.

Sometimes even sleep deprivation due to personal cause, late night sleep habits, a distracting environment etc can be cause of sleep paralysis. Reassurance to self is also important, as this might not continue for long time. A change in place, position of sleep might help sometimes. As i said earlier, you need to be free of stress.
