sleep

1339808 tn?1276321180 Only a series of blood tests could tell you this definitively. Some people need a lot of sleep, some need very little. While the above statement is generally true, it isn't necessarily true for any specific individual. It also depends on how long you haven't slept for and why and what your diet is like. Why aren't you sleeping? Partying too much, working too hard, or anxiety? And how long has it lasted?
Avatar m tn hey i have a question, a couple of weeks ago i wrote a post that was talking about how i thought i overdosed on cocaine and it turned out it was just a panic attack, and this weekend i didnt really get any sleep and was drinking till 4 am and woke up at 9 am and now i had one of those panic attack agains, do you think its all in my head or what? or is it sleep deprivation?
1926359 tn?1331588139 I agree with GA...call the doctor for some help. Sleep deprivation is horrible and it's just going to keep wearing you down. Yes. It's very normal for some to have a sleep problem 7 days in. It's awful, I know...Go out and get the Alteril (I know they have it at Walgreen's). Stay up all day and do as much as you can physically. Then go through all the bed preparations early (6 or 7 pm).
326352 tn?1310994295 how do you EVER get enough sleep? And of course, the diet gurus all say that adequate sleep is so important. How do you do that with 2 babies who are alternating their wake-ups....sleep restlessly (in our bed, they don't start there, but end up there around midnight)...and God love them, keep mommy from getting a good night's sleep. Vegas was good for the sleep, but 2 nights back at the house and my butt is dragging the ground. Is there a happy medium somewhere?
Avatar n tn I was treated for Hepatritis C over 4 years ago and have been suffering with Chronic Major Depression, anxiety, fatigue and a host of aches and pains. Just recently I have been given a sleep study and I had very little REM and many sleep apnea episodes, My Pulmonologist has ordered another sleep study using C-pap. I am hoping that my side effcts are actually symptoms of sleep apnea.
1794093 tn?1357930759 I definitely understand the sleep deprivation. It really ***** :( I work overnights and have a terrible time trying to sleep during the morning/afternoons. Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!
Avatar f tn I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
8467907 tn?1407411342 Its 2am n I can't get 2 sleep this has been happening for days now....
507890 tn?1211294759 I would like to suggest you to get your sister evaluated by an ENT doctor and sleep specialist if nothing is working and causing you both sleep deprivation. Take care.
774736 tn?1311331385 My shrink put me on Paxil (antidepressant) and Ambien (sleep pill) and Klonopin (anxiety). I was weaned off Ambien after 6 mos. but kept on Paxil and Klonopin (as needed). These really helped me through. But be careful on Paxil , because it is very hard to wean off. Talk to your psychiatrist and see what's best for you. Any antidepressant will have side effects.
Avatar n tn Are you there to take care of him? I do agree with your views of sleep deprivation and its adverse effects. He might be in severe stress due to sleep deprivation caused a result of irregular sleeping cycle because of job needs working in frequent shifts. You may seek the help of attorney for his loss of pay. He requires rest for sometime. He can get evaluated by a neurologist and get counseled by a sleep specialist. Take care and update on his progress.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor and then all of this started. I am a 25 year old male 280lbs and I used to smoke cigarettes and marijuana. I started having erection problems about 4 years ago. I take viagra sometimes.
Avatar m tn s not much she can do to totally escape the sensory overload. Young people are amazingly resilient and some go all thru college with inadequate and irregular sleep. But if she indicates the being stuck scenario, suggest she modify her schedule for a few days and arrange a few hours here and there of total down time. Remind her that sleep is critical to her cognitive abilities and memory, and to be kind to herself so that her body and mind are equipped to handle a busy lifestyle.
Avatar n tn Is there anything I can do to get it out and help me sleep. I do not recommend this drug for anyone and it seems to be the new anesthesia drug.
410281 tn?1254229064 It's possible. Sleep deprivation causes a generalized nervous system excitability which can manifest in various muscle twitches and spasms. Mirapex (which is also used for Parkinson's) acts in your central nervous system to control your nervous system problems. Did you ever treat your sleep apnea? And if so, how was it treated?
1606496 tn?1491508730 After mild sleep deprivation OR caffeine/stimulant withdrawal, I crash hard. I fall asleep wherever I am and can't really fight the urge. After waking from my nap, I feel unbelievable tired, weak and almost paralyzed. For the next 1-4 hours I feel as if my brain is swollen. So long as I regularly get 8 hours min sleep and avoid all stimulants, this isn't a problem but sometimes stimulants or sleep deprivation are unavoidable. What could this be?
Avatar m tn 30 or so, only getting around 4 hours of sleep. I tried to get back to sleep but the people around me were up and keeping me awake. After a while of me laying in bed, everyone left except one friend, and me and him layed around all day being too tired to do anything, but not wanting to sleep the day away. That whole day I felt pretty normal.

480804 tn?1208236518 It seems she is probably suffering from Sleepwalking and sleep talking as she might be under stress and sleep deprivation seems to be cause. Avatar f tn Many people have MVP and with trivial MR no problems are to be expected either. Sleep deprivation from anxiety is well known. So, try to stop worrying and everything will be fine. Standard tricks for sleeping should work to get into a normal sleeping routine again. I do not know what works for you, but I would come up with (not too early to bed, nightcap (?), evening stroll, etc). Sleep well!
Avatar m tn Obstructive Sleep Apnea is unlikely to cause hallucinations, but and they can occur with certain medications, stress, sleep deprivation, in certain brain disorders and with schizophrenia or bipolar disorders. So, like you mentioned sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations. But if they persist, I would advise you to discuss your symptoms with your primary care physician for further evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I have COPD and resisted going on 02 for years. A doctor just looked at me and with a soft voice said, "Your inhalers help with your symptoms, 02 will lengthen your life." It's not just your lungs that need 02, it's all your organs and every part of you.
