Avatar n tn I just googled this for you and I hope it helps Michelle The Group A beta hemolytic Streptococcus germ causes numerous infections, chiefly of the respiratory tract, but also involving other organ systems, chiefly the skin and lungs. The throat infections themselves are rarely serious and ordinarily, like most repiratory infections, are handled by the immune system without too much difficulty.
Avatar n tn Hello, Candidiasis is the most common yeast infection of the skin. Since you are having recurrent fungal infections, so it is important to do a fungal culture of the skin scrapings of the affected area to confirm the type of fungal infection you have. Till then, wash the affected skin daily and then dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. The damp skin is an ideal site for fungi to multiply. Also wear cotton clothes and do not share other people’s towels.
1100598 tn?1413127426 My Holistic Vet prescribes it for ear infections and/or Yeast Infections.......I have used it for years before he ever made mention of it...... Other things for you to do: Add Wet food for at least one meal a day.....Extra moisture will help keep toxins flushed from her system and is vital for healthy organ function......No dog should live on dry food alone.... Next: You need to add a good probiotic to her meals....

Avatar f tn Is there anyway to prevent yeast infections? Other than staying clean down there. This is my 4th pregnancy and I get them constantly throughout my pregnancy. I'm 4 weeks along and already have developed my first one.
Avatar m tn Ringworm is especially common in kittens and cats, while yeast and bacterial infections are more typical in dogs. The ears are lined with skin, so itchy ears in both dogs and cats are an extension of the same types of infections. Your veterinarian will need to make the correct diagnosis in order to properly treat the infection. However, one thing that vets don’t talk about much is why infection occurs.
Avatar n tn Dilute tea tree oil can also be used topically for yeast and bacterial skin infections. However, your dog will probably lick it off unless you have an Elizabethan collar. If the problem is a urinary tract infection cranberry capsules given orally and forcing your dog to drink more may help, but antibiotics are usually necessary. The Chinese herbal formula: Eight Righteous may help.
Avatar f tn Candida albicans is a diploid fungus (a form of yeast) and a causal agent of opportunistic oral and genital infections in humans.[3][4] Systemic fungal infections (fungemias) have emerged as important causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients (e.g., AIDS, cancer chemotherapy, organ or bone marrow transplantation). In addition, hospital-related infections in patients not previously considered at risk (e.g.
1151771 tn?1262025120 My daughter is going to be 2 in March and she has been suffering from yeast infections that never go away for almost her entire life. Started out when she was a baby as thrush that lasted almost a month and a half then everything went away for a few months then thrush came back and didn't go away for another couple months. Then we really didn't see anything again for about 6 months when it started in her private area.
Avatar f tn My 9 month old lab keeps getting reoccuring yeast infections in his ear. The vet perscribed drops and a cleaning solution. We were able to clean them the first couple of times but now he won't let us come near him with the solution or drop.. He bites and barks at us. Giving him carrots, treats, his favorite bone to distract him doesn't work. Any idea how to help make this easier?
Avatar n tn The reason can be the healing of the skin which may have contracted the skin. further, it may also be due to some fluids from your body which may have stayed on there overnight and have caused this. keep us posted and talk to your doctor if it concerns you more.
4413820 tn?1354210055 Both pugs were on prednisone (5 mg once daily) for skin allergies. One pug has had pneumonia 3 times in one year and is def no long taking the prednisone anymore, because is more than likely the cause. The other pug takes 2.5mg about 3 times a week now and his HORRIBLE skin condition is SOOO much better and he has never been sick a day in his life. So it's hit or miss sometimes with complications of prednisone. Just know that it can increase their chances of developing infections.
Avatar m tn Is her tongue white? Thrush doesn't usually manifest as a sore on the outside of the lips, as candida requires a moist environment to survive. Just wondering if this has been diagnosed and if the other symptoms of thrush are there because if it's just this sore again are you sure it's yeast?
Avatar f tn There is an ear medication called Otomax that is used to cure yeast infections in the ear and it is very effective against the Malassezia pachydermatis yeast organism. Why not talk to your vet about using Otomax if you have not yet tried it?
Avatar f tn More than its a yeast infection the same thing happened to me with the infection then yeast infection it was really itchy.
Avatar m tn They are very common in dogs. They get quite a bit on the skin. Usually in the ears, under arms, belly, thighs and groin area. Anywhere moist, just like humans can get them. I have 2 males, one has severe allergies to many allergens just like humans and the other is a very yeasty little boy. Sometimes it presents as a brownish/redish waxy substance, like they usually get in the ears, but also in the other areas too.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.
Avatar n tn Yeast infection may cause a rash in the moist skin folds of the vaginal area. In yeast infections there will be cheesy white discharge seen. Fungal infections can also cause rashes and itching. These are only a few possibilities. A clinical examination by a doctor will help in determining the cause. Treatment will be specific for the cause. Best luck and take care!
Avatar f tn Monistat works like a charm for yeast infections! That's what my doctor told me I could take. Just over the counter. He recommended the 7-day treatment. Baby is protected by the bubble she's in, so the medication does not get to him/her. Perfectly safe! Unless as previously said, you have any other complications. I would talk to your doctor before you do anything. And like they said, anti biotics are needed for a bacterial infection. Good luck!
Avatar f tn If you can, it is best to clean your genitals after sex to get rid of any foreign bacteria. Men can also develop yeast infections in their genitals (although not usually as frequently as females). In these cases, sexual contact can transmit a yeast infection from one person to another. Be honest with your partner if you have a yeast infection to avoid spreading the infection. Poor eating habits – A healthy diet will help protect your body against infection.
Avatar n tn yeast can be normal in dogs mouths so it could be contaminating the underwear. We can also have yeast in our mouths in low numbers too (normally). Yeast infections are not sexually transmitted but can be associated with oral sex. So you could actually transmit them to her that way and then infect yourself. So this is a complicated question. Also, you could be getting it from just sweating during sex. The moisture may be causing you to get yeast or another fungus like joch itch.
Avatar n tn I recommend starting by taking your dog to your veterinarian for assessment of the itch and medication recommendations. The most common reasons for itchy skin in dogs include skin infections, microscopic skin parasites such as scabies mites, food allergy, or pollen/dust allergies. Since scabies mites are difficult to find, I trial treat dogs for scabies with Revolution every 2 weeks for 3 treatments.
Avatar m tn I have a feeling I should be taking DIFLUCAN which clearly states that it is able to slow the growth of YEAST in organs... the interal area where I TRULY feel my skin condition is manifesting. Meaning... I don't just have fungus on my skin... I have a yeast infection INSIDE of my body that manifests on the skin. FML.
Avatar f tn I'm 36 weeks pregnant. I gotten alot of yeast infections during my pregnancy. probably around 4 , Ive just got treated for one but I believe I got another again.
Avatar n tn If you get a return of these symptoms within the next 2 months, do not self treat, go and be seen and get properly examined and tested. that way you'll know if this is actually herpes and not yeast or if it's something else going on. I'd stop the peroxide. It's actually non-chlorine bleach and harsh on the skin. Instead, soak in the tubby with either 2 cups of vinegar thrown in, a packet of aveeno bath or even epsom salts. All 3 work for decreasing irritation and itching.
