I notice it is much worse if I sweat or if I wear lotions that cause my upper arms to sweat. Unfortunately, like every one else explained, scratching the skin only worsens the itching, and then the topicals we use don't work. There is no rash, and I also think that is what contributes to doctors thinking it is psychological. I have been using Gold Bond Lotion for itching, with menthol in it. Unfortunately it is a lotion, which sometimes creates more sweat.
I have a constant rash on my upper arms that has been there for years. I was told previously that it was infected dermatitis but the cream i was prescribed didn't clear it. Fucibet and Fucidin. It is not itchy, but consists of tiny red or white bumps, the white ones have a white substance when squeezed. The sun seems to help clear it but it returns again. Could it be an allergy. I am asthmatic. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks.
I have a rash that is only on my upper arms and the backs of arms close to armpits. Small red bumps, somedays worse than others but always there. I have had it for over a year and a half now. Not painful, not itchy. Just there.

I am a 30 year old female. I have bumps covering my upper arms. Some are flesh colored and some have a pink tone to them. My upper arms have an overall pink, rashy look to them, but I believe this is more of an exfoliation issue than an acne or rash issue. I have had this condition for as long as I can remember, and my brother's arms look the same as mine.
Inside most of the bumps is a hair that cannot push through the skin.
It is so unbearable that you have to scratch the spot (which has no tell-tale rash or mark) and only after ripping the upper layer of skin off does the itching ease.
I have the same problem now in two or three areas which are covered in scar tissue.

Doc says it's down to Scabies, but told my wife same thing when she nearly died from liver infection.
Everytime I go in my pool I get a rash. It is on my upper legs and under my arms from the armpit to the wrist. It looks like a bunch of little bug bites and itches terrribly. No one else that gets in the pool gets anything like this including my one year old. Again this happens everytime I swim. It only happens in these two places everytime also. I never get it anywhere else. My pool is a chlorinated pool.

My 3 yr old son has these small circle spots on his upper arms, and now 1 on his upper thigh. They are flat, and almost resemble dry skin, the spots on his upper arms are a very light pink color they almost blend in with his skin color, the one on his thigh is more of a reddish color. They look kinda like a cigarette burn. I dont believe they itch because I never see him scratching them. They feel rough, just like dry skin.

It is concentrated on my upper, inner thighs, chest, stomach, back, backs of legs, and upper inner arms and lower inner arms. There is no rash on my face, hands, feet, shins, genital area or neck. I am an 18 year old female and have had a semi non itchy red rash on my chest, upper back and upper arms for about 2 years. The rest of my skin is smooth and clear and my doctor prescribed me Westin cream and it was not effective. I have changed soaps, lotions, luandry detergent and clothing and none of those elements seem to be the problem. It gets better at times and worsens at others but never fully goes away. It started on my arms, then went to my chest, then my back.

Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but the symptoms are suggestive of prickly heat(malaria) or sweat dermatitis. Prickly heat (miliaria) is an itchy skin rash caused by trapped sweat. It tends to occur on areas of the body where skin touches skin, such as under the breasts, on the inner thighs, and under the arms. Tiny red spots with itching and pricking sensation are the characteristic appearance of this rash.

I appear to have a strange bump like rash in different places on my body, middle of chest, back of upper arms shoulders, lower back, various places on my upper legs, the bumps have no center they are not red or itchy and they vary in size They seem like they are more under my skin than on it , I have had them for 4 months and they dont seem to have multiplied or decreased, I first thought I might of had an allergic reaction to something I ate but now I am not sure.
This past week we've done a lot of swimming in a chlorinated pool. The other night I noticed on my seven-year-old son upper arm what felt like a rash. But when I look at it there's nothing there but I can run my finger over it I feel the tiniest when I can only explain like a little tiny bumps are scabs almost It's not red or itchy. It's not swollen skin. But it feels almost like tiny scabs or pimples. He wears a swim shirt in the pool.
He has pretty good skin. Sensitive.
Another differential is keratosis pilaris which may present as white pigmentations on the skin especially behind the arms .They may have a sand paper feel on them when you run your hand on the affected surface.
This does not sound serious. Just continue to observe this. It is necessary to rule out vitiligo here which is a stark white well demarcated patch of skin usually appearing symmetrically. At this point, I do not think this is your case.
