1735424 tn?1357433558 My husband does not wear a Med Alert tag, although he probably should (something I should be thinking about in the near future) -- unfortunately, when he started treatment a few years back he ended up having to take off the few pieces of jewelry he did wear because everything irritated his skin... even had to stop wearing his wedding ring. The solution we used was to put all his prescriptions and allergies, etc.
Avatar n tn Do you still wear jewelry? Eczema can be related to allergies. There is no evidence that supplements will help. They have no idea what causes eczema. Be careful using cortisone, the more you use it the more you need to use it. Eventually you will need a stronger prescription. The skin will thin and could cause other problems. Try washing with a milder cleanser. Use plenty of moisturizer. Then try to find out if there is an allergy.
Avatar f tn Do you wear any other metal jewelry? It could be that you're developing sensitivity to metal. A previous boss of mine developed this later in life and could no longer where metal jewelry. Otherwise, I suspect that the moisture trapped under the wedding ring is causing this isolated incident. Be sure to dry the ring and your finger thoroughly after applying lotions, sanitizers and washing your hands. Hope you see relief soon.
Avatar n tn Acyclovir is sometimes used to treat eczema herpeticum, which is a skin infection caused by the herpes virus, to treat and prevent herpes infections of the skin. People who suffer from this disorder should avoid contact with triggering factors like soaps, cosmetics, jewelry, clothing, and detergents. Sometimes sweat, changes in temperature and psychological stress are known to trigger these episodes.
Avatar f tn I had a lot of swelling with my first two so I had to take mine off as well and wear them around my neck on a chain...
Avatar f tn Normally a rash is caused by a titanium piece-usually jewelry touching the skin. An implant usually does not cause a localized allergic reaction. IT can either cause a generalized rash, or a burning sensation, listlessness, pain at the site or even a feeling of extreme fatigue, low grade fever etc. Again titanium implant allergy is rare. However, do consult your doctor for clarification. In all probability it is some other allergy or dermatitis, or eczema.
Avatar n tn The exact cause of eczema is not know, but genetics, a defect of the skin that impairs its function as a barrier, and abnormal function of the immune system may be contributory. It can also be triggered by environmental allergens stress, and substances that come in contact with the skin, such as soaps, cosmetics, clothing, detergents, jewelry, or sweat. Hope this helps. Take care and best regards.
8182713 tn?1419265366 I took mine out because the skin around it was stretching. They do make pregnancy jewelry that is bigger, but I just decided to take mine out all together.
Avatar m tn I'm not sure what this could be, but if it keeps happening, try to get it looked at. You don't want it getting infected and causing any problems. Is there near an ear piercing? It looks like an infected pierced hole to me. If that's the case, have you been wearing any fake jewelry or anything? That may cause a problem.
Avatar f tn It feels exactly like the rest of my skin. Wearing jewelry does seem to at times make it worse, so I stopped wearing any in the hopes it would go away - it hasn't. I'm completely stumped. The only thing I can say that might be helpful is around the time I got this rash, the RV park my parents and I were staying at for a few months was spraying pesticide around and when I got this rash, according to my mother, a family friends dachshund got a rash very similar to mine.
Avatar f tn My skin was stretched to the max and especially having had my belly button pierced and removed the jewelry around 28 weeks, my skin was sensitive, and being stretched so much, I actually got a very tiny stretch mark right on top where my piercing site was. It looks silly, lol. But being that it was so stretched tight, it was sensitive and hurt, then a stretch mark appeared. It's possible that this could be what you're starting to get also, it's just in the hurting/sensitive stage.
Avatar n tn Do you wear rings? Or something on the hand. Never heard of this from B12, but some silver jewelry can do this.
Avatar n tn My mother, age 84, has had a pacemaker for approximately five years. Is jewelry containing magnets something that is okay for her?

Avatar f tn For about a month I have had a patch of skin ( about the size of a kidney bean)under my right eye that starts out red, then swollen, then dry, then flakey. The skin will flake off then my eye will be fine for 2-3 days then the cycle starts over again.
Avatar f tn Do you have to remove all body jewelry before labor? I have my tongue and nose pierced, belly ring fel out.
Avatar f tn Go to a jeweler to help see if they can assist. I used to work in jewelry and for the most part they are not allowed to cut off rings anymore for liability reasons (at least chain stores won't, private jewelers might) you have to go to the hospital to have it done.
Avatar f tn The rash is exactly the same as the rash I get from wearing fake jewelry. ( I believe I have a nickle allergy) My doctors do not seem to know what causes this bruise to rash issue. I have a theory and I would like to know what Medical professionals or others who have experienced the problem think of the theory. I think that the blood contains metals in minute amounts. The blood starts to dissipate and because the metals are heavier than the blood and solid, they stay longest.
Avatar n tn Mouth jewelry can injure your child’s gums and teeth. Your child’s gums may be injured or recede (move away form your teeth) if they are in constant contact with the jewelry. Having an object in the mouth all of the time increases the production of saliva. This can contribute to tooth and gum decay. Additionally, the jewelry can cause cracked teeth and damage fillings, crowns, and orthodontics.
4559458 tn?1357335935 I was always told they have you remove any type of jewelry in case of surgery or they need to use the pad to shock you back to life. ????
Avatar f tn This is NOT contact dermatitis. I have that when I wear jewelry and this is not the same sypptoms. My palms are not red until after I am digging at them. It is so severe that I have bruised the palms of my hands (both hands) from the scratching. There is no redness or dryness. I had my liver enzymes checked and they are within normal range. Doctor gave me ointment to use and it helps, but does not stop it.
