Avatar m tn Is a fungal infection of the skin an any way related to ARS? Could it be related to stress and/or a bad sunburn?
Avatar n tn Well you're not the only one who has experienced a bad sunburn and NO, I don't think it's funny. You could end up with skin cancer sometime down the road. If you happen to have an Aloe Vera plant, cut a piece off and apply the juice to the burn. You can also buy ointment that is especially for sunburns, it helps a bit or vaseline, but usually you just have to bare with it until the heat calms down, then it will peel like crazy. Try applying ice. Remember, a sunburn is just that.
Avatar f tn Hey I have few questions 1) is ars at 7 weeks normal or in the time frame? 2) if I had ars would the symptoms last till 7 weeks since exposure 3) my head is shedding skin I think it maybe from from sunburn but not sure.
Avatar f tn About a year ago i spent a lot of time in the sun and got a really bad sunburn. The highly affected area was my back and when the burn healed, peeled and tanned it left a lot of patchy white and brown marks. I just assumed it was like this because the skin never peeled in some parts as it did others and now i'm left with a very patchy brown and white back that can sometimes also be very dry so there fore i constantly now have to moisturise.
Avatar n tn Sunburn, also called erythema, is one of the most obvious signs of UV exposure and skin damage. Often marked by redness and peeling (usually after a few days), sunburn is a form of short-term skin damage.' 'Sun tan - The increase in skin pigment, called melanin, which causes the tan color change in your skin is a sign of damage.' 'Sometimes referred to as “photoaging,” premature aging is the result of unprotected UV exposure.
Avatar n tn t apply sun screen appropriately. As a result, I got a pretty significant sunburn across mainly my face. I didn't think much of it since I've had sunburns before. However, when I got out of the shower today I looked into the mirror and saw that there was a small yellow droplet on the tip of my noise. I wiped it off thinking it was something else. When I looked back in the mirror a few minutes later I saw another little droplet.
Avatar f tn I posted yesterday about what to do about sunburn. I tried what I was told but I still ended up with blisters. I honestly don't know what to do. No fever or anything. Maybe a few chills but I'm pretty sure it's pretty normal. Should I call my doctor or keep applying aloe?
Avatar f tn But today, I was out in the sun for 10 hours in 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees in Fahrenheit). The skin on feet is red and so is the skin just below my knee. But only my left foot stings. I don't know if this is a sunburn but if it is, I was wondering how to treat it.
Avatar m tn Do not scrub your skin or shave your skin and use a soft towel and gently pat your skin dry. Also use a sunburn Over-The-Counter remedy containing aloe vera and a light moisturizer or a dusting powder to relieve chafing. You can apply silver sulfadiazine (1% cream) on the skin except face and see if it helps. If the symptoms still persist then you should consult a dermatologist and discuss the option of dermabrasion or laser resurfacing.
Avatar f tn I got sever sunburn two days ago and have three HUGE blisters as well as a ton of little water blisters. I'm not concerned about the little water blisters but the big blister are quite scary and keep getting bigger and bigger (one of them popped and had so much liquid in it my whole leg was drenched), also my left ankle and foot(where the biggest blister is) have become incredibly swollen and slightly discolored.
Avatar n tn what treatment should i take for it and how much harmful is this sunburn and itching for my skin....what kind of disease can i have if it continues in this way??
Avatar n tn Other differentials for your skin condition is a bacterial infection. Blisters may occur secondary to a Staphylococcal or streptococcal skin infection. Was there any history of a sore throat or any flulike symptoms?
Avatar f tn It's always dangerous to get a sunburn. Every burn increases your chances of contracting skin cancer. Pregnancy makes your skin even more sensitive than other times in life. Sunscreen, shade, hydration, and proper preparation are incredibly important before putting yourself into that kind of situation.
Avatar n tn I have sunburn on my legs from just above the kneecaps to my ankles. I've had the sunburn since Monday. I have no swelling, my legs are pink. The thing that hurts are my shins, they feel like they are on fire. I put aloe on, but they still burn. What the heck is going on? Will this eventually go away?

Avatar f tn t happen now are chest infection type stuff, sunburn like rash (but feeling of burning skin does), lip blister, extremely sore throat seems to have stopped recurring too. But after 4 months I tested negative on herpes blood tests. I am still convinced I have herpes, but looking for other options as it has been mentioned that ebv can cause similar symptoms. So does anyone have any input in my situation? Anything at all would be great. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Abscesses, or one abscess that has given him an overall infection under the skin, would be my guess. Get him to the vet, it's possible to wait too long when a cat has an infection.
489725 tn?1280052553 You have not mentioned of any itchiness which may decrease the likelihood of a fungal infection and dermatitic skin conditions. History of atopic conditions like asthma, allergic rhinitis and known allergic reaction may suggest that this could be allergic in nature. Actually a red rash is very nonspecific. Other factors such as a viral infection and even autoimmune diseases may be considered here.
959034 tn?1253671476 Use a lotion wih Aloe because the aloe will help heal the damaged skin and smoth it, you can also take motrin or Tylenol to relief the pain and inflamation of the skin. The sunburn should last about 3-7 days and then the damaged skin (top layer) will die and peal off leave a new layer. Oh and by the way please use sunscreen next time, for each sunburn you get it increases your chances of skin cancer.
Avatar n tn ve read that the skin does have a VERY long term memory for severe sunburn), but feel that if it were a sinister sign connected to this, surely it would have progressed to another stage by now rather than continuing in the same cycle. Anyone else had something similar and managed to solve the mystery?
Avatar n tn Hi, This would just be the spot of inflamed skin where the burn was. Skin cancer cannot show up immediately after a sunburn, not in such a short duration. A sunburn is a burn to living tissue such as skin produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun's rays. sunburn and the increase in melanin production (as in a tan) are both triggered by direct DNA damage.
Avatar m tn At this point, the best thing to do is to re-moisturize your skin and keep it that way while the sunburn heals. Moisturizers and oatmeal baths sooth the skin. After the skin peels, the healthy skin surfaces and should even out your skin color. If the redness persists, it is best to discuss this with your dermatologist for further evaluation. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn i have very fair skin so have sunburned often, and this does not look like any sunburn i have experienced. usually sunburn itches as it peels, doesnt it? the skin that did not peel is a darker color, a more tannish pink, and kind of fades down my thumb in a lattice like pattern as it fades off. i dont mean to be argumentative, i am just a little confused!
Avatar f tn Yes. Your skin is more sensitive when prego so U will burn much easier. Use lots of sunscreen 30spf or higher.
Avatar m tn The lower part of the glans became really sensitive and red, and a large section of skin had peeled off. Sort of like a sunburn. Within a few days the spots dissipated and the peeled skin area became less sensitive and returned to normal with dead skin flaking off. The whole episode lasted no more than a week or less. There did not appear to be any discharge, odd smell or anything. The spots/bumps did not appear to be filled with any fluid.
