Avatar f tn Hi there! I am asking about a skin rash or something that I have because I am out in the middle of the bush for work at the moment. I noticed about 6 days ago what I thought was a mosquito bite. It was red, raised and itchy. I forgot about it after a couple of days and then I noticed that it no longer looked like a mosquito bite. It had a small scabby centre (from picking the scab from itching) and then around it was red like a perfect circle. The skin wasn't raised.
Avatar m tn Summer sores is another name for impetigo. It is a superficial bacterial skin infection. Primarily caused by Staphylococcus aureus and sometimes by Streptococcus pyogenes. Topical and oral antibiotics are the treatment of choice. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist and get these two possibilities evaluated. It is good that you have got the biopsy done as clear cut results can be obtained.
Avatar n tn The affected part of scrotum is usually red and there is dead skin on that part, even if I peel that dead skin off it comes back after two or three days. Nowadays the dead skin doesn't appear as it used to, it has almost disappeared, the scrotum doesn't itch but there are still light red mosquito bite like spots on my scrotum which appear and disappear as they please. There is no pus.
Avatar f tn Is it possible if a mosquito is smashed and there is blood that is released onto your skin for it to transmit a virus like HIV? Blood seems to have the highest viral load so if the blood isn’t yours and from someone possibly infected wouldn’t that make it a risk for infection? I was sitting in my home last week when a bug flew by in which I grabbed it with my hand and sure enough there was some blood.
Avatar n tn My question is that if the mosquito is assumed to be carrying HIV infected blood( which it might have gotten from sucking blood of hiv infected person in that area), is it possible for me to get infected for HIV by exposure to that blood by squashing of mosquito on the same spot through the small hole in the skin that the mosquito would have created for sucking blood. I do not have any other injury or cuts in that area.
Avatar f tn hi, i have a problem with my skin and am not sure whether or not it is allergies or just plain mosquito bites. around April, i have a little flea problem but that was taken care. however i keep getting itchy spots or patches, they are not like bed bug bites or fleas, since i get one itchy rash spot every four or three days. By mid May, the spots or patches stop appearing.
Avatar f tn A month ago, I got these little red dots on my back and stomach. they're really itchy. suddenly, they've transferred into my arms and legs. after sometime they're gone, my skin became "chicken skin". and now when I feel itchy and scratched my legs, red itchy bumps will appear. They're like mosquito bites. But when I stop scratching, they will be gone after few minutes. What could these be?
Avatar m tn I am always rubbing her back and neck because she had been in a car accident a couple of years ago and experiences chronic back pain, and did not feel it until 2 days ago. It is not visible on the skin, is about the size of dime or nickel, and causes her pain if pressure is applied. Pain feels similar to a bruise.
Avatar n tn Hi White bumps on the skin may be due to postinflammatory hypopigmentation, yeast infection and even vitiligo. In your case however, vitiligo does not seem to be likely as you have noted the white spots to disappear in time. Vitiligo refers to a loss of skin cells that are responsible for pigmentation. Just continue to observe your skin condition. This does not seem to be something serious. I do not think this is due to the medications.
Avatar f tn Scabies is a transmissible ectoparasite skin infection characterized by superficial burrows, intense pruritus (itching) and secondary infection. The action of the mites moving within the skin and on the skin itself produces an intense itch which may resemble an allergic reaction in appearance. The presence of the eggs produces a massive allergic response which, in turn, produces more itching. Scabies is transmitted readily, often throughout an entire household, by skin-to-skin contact.
Avatar f tn Also, I a few itchy bumps which I thought were mosquito bites because they itches so bad I scratched the skin off. The spots are hard and warm like a mosquito bite too. I figured it was dry and irritated from the toilet paper and began using Vaseline on it a couple times a day to moisturize it and prevent anymore harm from the tp. After three days of the Vaseline it was much more red and itchy. I itched it so much that the raised skin has split.
12182312 tn?1427683956 Since this summer, up until now, December, I noticed after walking outside, I come inside, and my skin becomes very itchy and where it itches I get what looks like mosquito bites. I thought in the summer that's what it was but it's happening in the freezing winter too. And, it only happens after I come in from walking, or after a very got shower. Why would I get mosquito bite looking welts? I don't get it. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Sir, Yesterday evening I went along to STD/HIV Clinic in Thailand again for getting my test result. While being in a room with one confirmed hiv positive patient, I was bitten by a mosquito quite a large one. Out of impulsive reaction, I squashed it and it left a large blood spot on my arm. I'm sure that the mosquito bites the hiv patient for sure because we're in the same room for long long time. The room is closed, and nobody else.
Avatar n tn I just don't know why mosquito with blood in his stomach does not transmit, I totally get it why mosquito sting does not transmit, but with blood in its stomach and its body in my eyes, it looks like a dangerous airtight container with blood to me.....could you please give me just a few more words to illustrate why this situation does not transmit? I really appreciate your help and happy new year friends !
926271 tn?1258459843 My husband and & went on a trip and when we came back our 6 y.o. son had lots of 'mosquito bites' and a red circular lesion in the inside of an ankle. At first looked like an infected mosquito or ant bite. You could see a small opening like when you scratch a lot, I treated with peroxide and neosporin as usual but after 2 weeks (i didn't think it was bad) I noticed it didn't get better.
874521 tn?1424116797 The most efficacious treatment for cats with eosinophilic disease complex, of which eosinophilic plaque is one component, is Depo-medrol injections every 2 to 4 weeks, with antibiotics for secondary skin infection. Depo-medrol or other steroid injections can cause diabetes in susceptible individuals (especially obese cats), but, it is a necessary part of the treatment. It might be a good idea to place your cat on a hypoallergenic canned diet such as prescription lamb and pea, or equivalent.
Avatar f tn ) About a month and a have ago I was given antibiotics for a bacterial infection that I received via mosquito bite that had built a bacterial "pus" sac I guess is what she said, which in case the mosquito did its business, but pushed bacteria to a place it didn't belong in my skin etc. SO the bacteria had a party for about maybe 3 or 5 weeks til I could see my pediatrician. But, I'm going to be honest, I'll admit I'm a hypochondriac to some extent.
Avatar f tn However for blisters with no associated pain, a dermatitic skin condition or viral infection may be considered. Some viral infection such as HSV type 1 may be transmitted through direct skin contact.
Avatar n tn I just recently had unprotected sex with my girlfriend of over a year during the end of her period. The following day i noticed small rashes that kind of looked like mosquito bites along the shaft of my penis. They dont hurt but they have remained for over a day and upon closer look they kind of look like small bites but i cant be sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn thank you grace, and if its not an STD then what are some other things it could be? Some sort of skin infection or skin irritation, when it heals im scared to even touch it again becuase of the immediate irritation.. like i said i will be going to see a doctor but i just want as many opinions as i can get first...
Avatar m tn and is it true that mosquito who has previously sucked blood infected with HIV can transmit it to the next host when it was hit and crushed on my swell from mosquito and wound on skin. The blood was fresh and bright red. I was sure the mosquito just bit him within sec to minute, so it could infect because it was in the host--mosquito-- and still fresh, as this site claimed, right?
Avatar f tn Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection. Bacterial skin infections can be spread by shared cosmetics or washcloths, close human contact, or by contact with pus from a boil or carbuncle.Maybe your son is getting the staph infection from his dad as he is having the same problem too. Treatment includes warm compresses and antibiotics and pls do not touch or pick them up.
