Common Questions and Answers about Skin infection lymph node

infection

Avatar n tn See the skin colour above the lymph node, if the skin is red or pink, it means that the lymph node is loosing the battle against the infectious agent, you better get yourself checked then. Some drugs( like anti-epilepsy drugs Phenytoin) or vaccine (for typhoid fever) could also cause painful lymph node swelling. If other signs like fever, weight loss , tiredness and weight loss are accompanying painful lymph node, you better rush to the hospital, could be the indication of serious infection,.
Avatar n tn s called felicitous if my spelling is correct, I took a medication then I felt every thing was perfect the big ball on the back side under the hair gone and the lymph node went normal. The lymph node was not painful. Four month later I noticed that when I shave my bear my face is hurting me and when the hair grown up it become so etichy and the area is so red, and when the hair grow up more the area become so etichy.
Avatar f tn It could be that Lyme disease, which is a bacterial infection, be the cause of your lymph node enlargement. The purpose of watching an enlarged lymph node in the setting of a negative mammogram is to ensure that the lymph node is not continuing to grow, which may be cause to investigate further.Best wishes.
Avatar f tn I went for FNAC but lab person refused to do so as lymph node was very less and he cant perform FNAC bcoz result will not be clear. Doctor prescribed rutoheal tab twice a day which has heal the swelling but it was causing me tongue ulcers on tip. I am still feeling pain in lymph node though and ear pain if I belches. I am very stressed due to all this. Does all this indicating some serious illness?
Avatar n tn Most of the time, infection is the cause of lymph node enlargement. Perhaps there is an infection somewhere in the head and neck area, or in the lungs, that caused the lymph node enlargement. You should bring you son to his pediatrician for evaluation. Take care.
Avatar n tn I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that the swollen lymph node that you have noticed has nothing whatsoever to do with HIV infection. As you note, your risk is very, very low. In addition, the lymphadenopathy associated with HIV infection is typically diffuse, involving lymph nodes in many parts of the body. On the other hand, an axillary lymph node of the sort you note deals with inflammation from the arm and the chest wall and back on the side of the node.
Avatar m tn What you are probably feeling is a lymph node; perhaps swollen for some reason - maybe an infection in your body, like a cold, etc. Notice also that swollen lymph nodes can stay swollen a pretty long time after an infection. Avatar f tn Hi, In my opinion, I think you should have this swollen lymph node in your axilla area, checked out by your doctor. Usually, when there is infection or inflammation somewhere in the body, a lymph node may enlarge, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's something bad. Depending of course on what your doctor deems appropriate he/she may recommend an antibiotic, monitor the lymph node growth,or ordering more investigative tests to rule out cancer.
Avatar m tn Well, lymph nodes pop up due to fighting off any infection. They can arise in various parts of the body depending on where they are found. Also, how large they are is important because if they are tiny they may be normal. Also, if they are hard versus spongy. The role of the lymph node is to filter out bacteria and viruses. So they swell when they produce white cells that fight off infection. You don't even have to feel unwell to be fighting something off.
Avatar m tn Did you have an exposure?
Avatar m tn Hi, This is due to the swelling of a lymph node, which reacts to an infection in the nearby area and subsides of its own after the infection is over; but while going back, they may not shrink completely. Arm pit lymph node swelling is also very common due to increased usage of of antiperspirants, in such cases, allow skin sweating and wash the area clean instead of preventing perspiration.
Avatar f tn Im a 25 year old female smoker. I noticed last night that I have a small lump on the right side of my next towards the middle. The lump is under the skin and it feels like it moves a little or maybe its the skin moving over it. I was thinking it was a swollen lymph node but I haven't been sick or had any sort of infection. There is no pain at all which freaks me out! I do have night sweats some nights. Does this sound like something I should be worried about?
Avatar m tn Sorry, I would just like to correct something from above. I met this girl at a bar two weeks ago and had sexual intercourse on that night. It has been two weeks since I had sex and have noticed this rash and lymph node on my body. Thanks!
Avatar f tn It may be a lymph node, and any swollen lymph node should be investigated. Chances are that the lymph node is swollen in response to an infection of some type, perhaps even a mild one, but I think a doctor's visit is in order. It is not safe to ignore this.
Avatar m tn Is it normal to have one enlarged lymph node permanently? Can this really be due to a prior infection and nothing else? Would you ever need to do a biopsy in cases like that? I pushed the doctor whether we need biopsy, and he said he is confident we don't need one at all, but me being the OCD Hypochondriac that I am, I cannot setlle until I get a second opinion. Any insights would be welcome, thank you.
Avatar f tn I have to see a consultant on Thursday but I am really afraid of the potential prognosis. Can anyone tell me how often is aswollen lymph node benign. Every site I search refers to breastcancer??? Jenny This discussion is related to Worried about lymph node swelling.
Avatar n tn The underarm lump you notice could be due to an axillary lymph node which could be enlarged due to shaving, waxing, infection, or a deodorant , also. Wait for a few days and see if it subsides or else consult your physcian. You could try some warm compresses. Let us know if you have any other doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing and what does your physician advise. Goodluck.
