Common Questions and Answers about Skin infection from fish

infection

Avatar f tn Hi, sounds like it could be a staph pyoderma infection of the skin. you can google this and also look at the site " dogandhorsecare.com/staph-infection" it will show a photo of it. Or just google "photo's of canine staph or skin infections on belly area". I had to take one of my boys to a doggie dermatologist, he has severe allergies and also had some yeast and staph infections on his skin, especially belly/underarm/thigh areas.
Avatar f tn There are no data on this, but logic and the science of HIV suggest there would be no risk, and I am unaware of any reports of transmission of any blood-borne infection from Asian fish treatment you describe. My understanding is that the nibbling fish only take superficial skin and that no bleeding results. And if it did, I would expect any HIV or other viruses to be too diluted to be transmitted to other customers.
Avatar n tn OK for preventive issues (before most operations betadine solution is used to PREVENT infection) it has little use for an ongoing skin infection and may dry out surrounding tissue making it easier to enter.

Avatar m tn You had no risk. If by "fish spa" you mean those places where you stick your feet in water and fish nibble at the dead skin............no risk.
Avatar n tn From doing researching on the internet, I think my little dog has Black skin disease. He is about 6 years old. He constantly scratches. He had fleas about 6 months ago and was treated by the Vet. Now he is fleas free but has small black patches on the skin between his leg joints and stomach area. The hair has become thin in these areas also. The rest of his skin is red and scaly.
Avatar n tn Fish Oil does work as an anti-inflammatory...However, in a 3 month old puppy, you need to rule out Mange &/or Staph infection....Both are common in young dogs......A simple skin scrape (From your Vet) will rule out Parasites (Mange) & he/she will be able to tell by looking if it's a Staph Infection..... Both conditions must be treated early ( With proper medications) or the battle is awful!!! Please, see your Vet ASAP.......
Avatar n tn If symptoms improve, then add one type of fish back into the diet, and if all is OK, add another type of fish, but at least 48 hours apart from the first fish. And so on. This way you may identify exact fish/shellfish which you are allergic to. You may be allergic to morte than one type of fish though.
Avatar n tn today i was with my gf we had sex with a condom however when i took it out it smelt of fish for the first time, she had resently done her smear test and said the woman used alot of vacaline.
Avatar f tn A diet full of this kind of food causes hemmroids and other skin problems such as herpes. Eat baked or broiled fish twice a week, pasta, chicken breast, take it easy on beef. Take 2000 to 5,000 mg of Vitamin C, fish oil, Vitamin D-3, eat vegetables, especially salads. You also need to drink water but you need to drink it after exercising so it is absorbed into your system. Walk 20 minutes and drink 2 glasses of water. Do this 4 times a day.
Avatar n tn Honestly, I would say you don't have to be embarrassed because alot of women and girls are maybe going throught the same thing you are going through. But the best way I can tell you is to use a feminine body wash that you can get from walmart or walgreens. But that should help you out some.
Avatar m tn Nothing in muscle, but just got a postive FISH. A couple of years back, I started getting rashes at the tip of my penis and above the anus immediately after each cysto. I told my urologist, who didn't have an answer and they continued after each cysto, getting worse and taking longer to resolve each time. We tried switching betadine with another prep solution; no effect. My urologist thinks it has nothing to do with the cystos and is fungal. I know it has something to do with the cystos.
Avatar m tn m really not sure if I eat enough fat I have meat and veg every day which can be anywhere from beef to fish so I imagine Ive got a well balanced diet but if you could suggest a food or foods I should be eating that would be appreciated. She is not getting the yeast infections.
746058 tn?1248344665 s recipe Vegetarian or Venison formulas, since he did not do well on fish based foods. A diet change will not make intestinal parasites or skin infection go away, however, so please get him to your veterinarian.
127124 tn?1326735435 The fish oil i was was using had 180mg EPA, and 120mgDHA per cap. the fish oil i got from them has 540mg EPA, and 350mg DHA per cap. And for the weight of our pups the bottle says 60-90lbs give 2 caps orally once a day. I can still buy the people kind after I'm done with the bottle from the vet but I just have to look at labels and get a higher amount. The people kind is much cheaper of course. OK, so after the first visit she also put him on 2 antibiotic meds.
Avatar n tn Some people(like me) have a sensitive skin you can get a rash from a lot of things like high temp.,getting angry, some types of food like fish bananas peaches guava strawberry chocolate so try to reduce eating this food. But only for insurance you should see a doctor to examine this rash.
Avatar m tn What is done is done, but in the future I plan on instituting safer fish practices into my dining routine. I will use protection and try not to stray from fish to fish. And just to be on the safe side, I sent a sample of salmon blood from a recently defrosted salmon to Quest Labs for a Heptimax. As you know, this is one of the more sensitive tests available so it should definitely pick up anything fishy.
Avatar n tn He seems to think it is just a general skin infection and/or scabies and has prescribed a cream and antibiotic. My son isn't experiencing any symptoms other than itchy skin...no fever, malaise, nothing out of the ordinary yet. My fear is that this is potentially something worse as it looks terrible and with all of the talk of MSRA I concerned. My question is: 1. Should I be concerned at this point? 2. Should I follow some other medical process other than the one outlyned by our Dr.?
377493 tn?1356502149 I continued do that for him at least once every other day, and amazingly, the rolling skin condition went away. From time to time, he bites his skin a little bit but I never see it roll. Also, he didn't mind me touching his back or his tail anymore. His skin now looks great and no more dandruff. I was so busy in the last two weeks that I didn't keep up the scratching, and my boyfriend said that he saw his symptom came back this morning.
Avatar n tn It frequently causes quite severe irritation. It can be caused by infection or local reaction to skin injury from chemicals or radiation. It would be best if you have this evaluated further for proper management. A complete medical history and physical examination are important in reaching a diagnosis and to rule out other causes such as fungal infection or other skin problems. Take care and regards.
