Stye is caused by blockade in the oil gland of
eyelid followed by acute
infection. Chalazion is caused by blockade in a modified oil gland of the eyelid and can become red, warm and painful. Consult an ophthalmologist for evaluation. Treatment would include warm compresses of the lump, systemic anti inflammatories, sun protection, topical antibiotics and good nutrition. If it does not resolve with medical therapy, drainage by the doctor would be required. Wishing you all the best.
