1460176 tn?1285887758 This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates and is aggravated by sweating and humidity. Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases. The other possibilities are of eczema, lupus erythematosus or dermatitis.

Avatar n tn The other night he initiated sex and when I started to massage his genitals they had spots where the skin was hard and dry. Upon further investigation (turning then lights on) his bag and penis has peeling skin. The peeling is rather thick and is in the whole area. I dont see any sores or redness. It kinda reminds me of a really thick peel from a sunburn. Any ideas what it is?

Avatar n tn It can be due to contact dermatitis and contact with harsh detergents, soaps and lotions. Sometimes cold, dry air can cause peeling and dermatitis, nail infection causing paronychia or fungal infections can also cause peeling. Paronychia results from a breakdown of the protective barrier between the nail and the nail fold. Diagnosed by gram staining and KOH wet mounts from the skin and nail scrapings. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.
Avatar m tn It has been very dry and skin peels all the time its very rough feeling on occasion will itch. My other hand though is the complete opposite, very smooth no problems at all. I have been trying everything all sorts of moisturizers, lotions even things my regular PCM perscribed. Still nothing works. I would love to see a Dermatologist although the military is being picky on sending me to one.

Avatar n tn ive noticed for a while that the skin on my stomach and breasts have been flaking and peeling and very dry. I moisturize as often as i can but when the skin dries up it goes back to being flaky and dry. i don't know what could be causing it or why. my mom thinks it might be a skin fungus. it won't go away and i've tried lotions, oils, and cocoa butter but while for the moment that my skin is moisturized it seems to go away, as soon as the product dries my skin again becomes flaky.
Avatar m tn Hello, When a wound is healing it causes peeling of skin and itching of skin around the wound. However if the peeling continues even after the wound has healed then some causes need to be ruled out. These include contact dermatitis and contact with harsh detergents, soaps and lotions. Sometimes cold, dry air can cause peeling and dermatitis or fungal infections can also cause peeling. It needs to be examined from a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Once it is peeled off though, the skin is smooth again. But now her breast area is starting the same thing, dry and wrinkled and then skin peeling. She stays home most of the time so no exposure to sun burn. I wondered if it is because it is a symptom of Menophase? The skin doesn't hurt but sometimes a bit itchy.
363682 tn?1299492962 Recently though, my hands have become so dry that the skin on my fingers has been frequently blistering and then peeling. Visits to my doctor here in the UK have led her to prescribe a 'doublebase' hydrating cream in an effort to moisturise the skin a little more. But ... I think I may have found the cause myself now: dishwashing liquid! Since I started using rubber gloves when doing the dishes (sorry guys!), although my hands are still dry they don't peel any more.

Avatar n tn If I break the little blisters, they dry up and start peeling. If I just let them along, they dry up and start peeling. The peeling skin is such a nuisance, it's torture. I have the itching, burning blisters on my palms, in between and on the bottom of all of my fingers, both hands, and on the sides of my feet. There is no creme that I can use to make them go away. And, once they peel off and go away, they will wait awhile and return...for absolutely no reason that I can think of.

Avatar n tn It starts with small white blisters that does not have any liquid inside. The look like dry white small blisters. When I peel them the skin easily comes off in small sheets. There is no redness, no pain, no itching, just alot of peeling skin. I had this condition last summer, but dissapeared in the winter, and has now shown up again even though it is not really hot yet. It happens on my palsm and fingers but not on the back side of my hands.
